Grand smiled and hugged her back. "I'm always here for you Missy, I promise" She said warmly. "Now, I suppose I have some research to do then. Ms. Sparkle, do you have anything to recommend?" She asked, already brainstorming different activities.

 

Caramel laughed. "Yeah, I guess that would make sense. Celestia knows we have an abundance of apples" She said as she grabbed a few from the cupboard and began slicing them up

"I believe I might have something, let me think." Twilight looked deep in thought for a small amount of time. "I know, Pony Psychological Ailments and Treatments. It sounds a bit too good to be true, but it's a real book, I promise. It was written by Alfred Saddler.

 

"Yeah, apples." Starburst said. "Life is getting back to normal a little bit, don't you think, it seems like yesterday I was fighting for my life against undead ponies."

"Thats perfect! I'm sure that will do the trick!" She said happily. "You wouldnt mind finding it for me, would you Ms. Sparkle?" She asked, a little sheepishly. "I dont mean to impose, I'm sure I could find it on my own, But I'm sure you know where every book in your library is"

 

Caramel sighed. "Yeah, it feels like yesterday I was chasing alive ponies" She said grumpily. "But, its finally feeling normal. This will be my first Hearths Warming Eve in years, I cant wait!"

"I most certainly can, follow me." Twilight trotted out of the house happily and waited for Grand to follow.

Missy hugged into Fire Horn, she tried relaxing, eventually she fell asleep.

 

Starburst coughed when she mentioned it. "Hearth's Warming Eve? Oh, yeah, right." Starburst said, he had completely forgotten about that.

 

(Do ponies give presents on Hearth's Warming Eve, or is it all about being together and re-lighting the fire of friendship?)

Grand smiled and happily followed Twilight. "I suppose I should thank you for well... saving my life and everypony elses. We are quite lucky to know you Ms. Sparkle" She said timidly, trying to make conversation.

 

Caramel dumped the apples into the pie crust. "I remember always staying up late by the fireplace drinking hot chocolate, singing holiday carols and eating cookies with Grand. Its my favorite holiday"

"Well, as I heard, you saved me from being executed by bandits four months ago during the first raid." Twilight said. "So, really I was just repaying the favor. Oh, who am I kidding, I would've done it anyway."

 

Starburst thought about how Hearth's Warming Eve.
"Hey, did your sister or yourself over perform in the Hearth's Warming Eve show?"

Stephan walked out of the house and walked beside Grand and Twilight.

"I can't believe I'm willingly doing this? Going to a library? Stephan, what is wrong with you??" He thought to himself. "You should be out in the wilds, adventuring. Not freaking reading!"

Grand smiled. "Oh that was nothing, just common courtesy" She said nervously. They walked into the library and Grand looked at all the books. "There must be thousands of books here, how do you keep them all organized?" She said as she read a few titles

 

Caramel smiled. "No, though Grand would ramble on and on about it. She took me every year, you wouldve thought it was the olympics the way she gushed over it. Every year she would scower the paper looking for who was going to be cast in it for that year, She especially liked the year Twilight and her friends were in it"

"Oh, it's not really that difficult, you just have to have a clear mind and a lot of time on your hooves." Twilight took a book out, that was it. "Here you go, I found it." Twilight levitated the book over to Grand.

 

"You want to take that trip to the frozen waterfall tomorrow? Since we've got too much time to spend together anyway." Starburst asked.

Stephan simply yawned and drank some of the free coffee they were giving away at the front. He walked up to Twilight.

"Twi, you're related to Missy, correct?" He asked, sipping his coffee. "What was she usually like as a young mare. I guess she was like what she usually is now. You know, except when she isn't haunted by the past that never really happened."

"She was kind of an introvert when I took her in, although that's to be expected, but once she warmed up to me, I started seeing a new side of her." Twilight said. "She was quite intellectual, like me, when she started reading books in this library I could barely even get her to stop to eat something."

Grand opened the book and flipped to the section she wanted. "This is perfect, thank you very much Ms.Sparkle" She said happily. "I'll return it to you as soon as I'm finished" She said as she began slowly making her way back to her house, her nose in the book the whole way. Before she left she looked back at Twilight. "You... you dont happen to have scripts here do you? If we are going to have a new theatre, I want a play picked out right away"

 

Caramel nodded. "I would love to. We can save the pie until tomorrow and have a picnic!" She said happily.

"So, she was a big reader like you?" He asked taking another sip. "I'm not really a big reader. Though, if I would want to read any book here in this building, I'd want to find a novel or illustration on Daring Doo. I learned everything I know about adventuring from those books."

"Good Idea, Caramel, what should we do for today?" Starburst asked. "We could always visit Aunt Fluttershy, she might need help at her cottage."

 

"You really are just like Rainbow Dash, you know, she talks about you a whole lot." Twilight said. "I don't have any scripts, I only have books, at least I think so...." Twilight ran off to the basement.

Grand smiled. "its no matter, I have plenty back at my house, I was just wondering if you might have something different" She said before starting to read again.

Caramel smiled. "Sure, I dont think Ive ever met Fluttershy. She seems pretty nice, and I think her and my sister represent the same element"

"I know, and I'm not ashamed of it." He said, laughing. "Well, okay, maybe a little." He began looking through the shelves. After a little bit of searching, he came across a dusty book on Daring Doo, one of the last novels ever published. He plopped into seat and began reading.

Twilight appeared back in the room with nothing.

"Sorry, I've got nothing, if you've got some at home that's great." Twilight looked over to Stephan. "I should've known you were a Daring Do fan, you adventuring folk always are."

 

"Yeah, she's really nice, she used to be a bit of a push-over, but she got over that, now she's pretty assertive." Starburst said, he gave Caramel a small kiss, because why the heck not?

Grand waved behind her with her nose still in the book. She opened the door to her house and went straight into her room to finish reading.

 

Caramel smiled. "Lets get going then. Hey, do you think Grand would let me get a pet? She does have a soft spot for kittens" She said mischeviously

"Well, like I said, Daring Doo is the one of the reasons I'm an adventurer in the first place." He said. "But, I'm just tired of adventuring for a while. I can't wait for this theater to get rebuilt. I'll be able to sit down and watch Grand do her first performance in years."

"No, I don't think she would. Not right now anyway." Starburst opened the door for Caramel. "I Believe it's this way." Starburst said, pointing a hoof to a direction.

When they arrived, Fluttershy was tending to her chickens.
"Hello, Starburst, how are you today? And who have you brought with you, is this the marefriend Pinkie has been talking about?" Fluttersy asked.

"Yes, this is Caramel Corn." Starburst replied.

 

"Yes, well that'll be fun to see." Twilight walked over to her collection of Daring Do books.

"I think the author of Daring Do is thinking about writing another book."

Stephan's eyes widened and he looked up from the book.

"But nopony has heard from the author since the outbreak was cured! How do you know they're writing another one?" He asked. "If it's true, then I'll definitely have to pick it up! But, wait, how do you know the author is still alive?"

Grand read the book happily. writing in a notebook occasionally when she came across something useful or interesting

"I'm a princess, so it's my duty to know these things, but you cannot tell anyone else that I told you that, I'm terrible at keeping secrets anyway." Twilight said.

 

"I'm assuming there's a reason you two came up here." Fluttershy said.

"I haven't spoken to you in so long, I just wanted to see how you were coping." Starburst replied.

"I'm fine, but how's your mother, how's her baby doing?" Fluttershy asked.

"She's fine, they're both fine, though my mum is going through some issues right now." Starburst responded/

After a loooong time of being gone and wandering, Zeta decided to show up at the house and walk in. He didn't look too happy, but saw Grand and tried to creep quietly past her and into a place where he could rest on the floor.

Caramel wasnt really listening to the conversation. Her attention had been drawn to the animals that filled Fluttershys property. She watched as dquirrels climbed up trees and birds sang in the branches. She had never had a pet and she had vowed she would convince Grand to let her get one.

 

Grand had finished reading and walked over to her bookshelf that was filled to the brim with different scripts. She started pulling a few out and reading them for old times sake. Assuming no one could hear her she started reciting lines to herself, full out voice change and all
