Stephan managed to help a few wounded ponies out by getting them to safety as fast as he could. He left them with a few rations of food before going out again. After running around for a bit, Stephan saw Fire sitting in the middle of town in his lonesome. He sat next to him.

"Hey, dude. What's up?" He asked.

Fire turned to see Stepham, his hooves were in his face.

"Nothing, I'm just sat out here, you know, the fire is an oddly relaxing thing." Fire said. "Anyway, you look pretty beaten up, what in Equestria have you been doing out there?"

 

Glint only did it for a little bit, as she knew that this mare was not her mother, so... she was a little worried.

Moon wondered why Glint had stopped so early, and put a hoof over to her. "Glint honey, what's wrong? Do you feel like something's not right?"

 

Shortly after, Sirius finished up and gave a nice burp. "Ahh.. That was nice. Thanks mommy..~" Then she jumped on the couch to sleep.

"Oh, well I entered into a house that was on fire to rescue Pinkie Pie, but while I was trying to rescue her, the house collapsed. I would've been dead if it weren't for Twilight putting a forcefield around me and Pinkie." Stephan said, saying it like it was a completely normal sentence. "Anyways, we saved Pinkie and I've been spending the past twenty minutes getting homeless ponies to dryer, warmer places."

"Well, you've had your hooves full tonight, while me, I've been having personal problems, I don't know if this is what they call a mid-life crisis, but....." Fire said. (Fire is older than Stephan.)

 

Glint nodded and said. (Squeaked, rather.)

"You're not mummy."

Stephan raised an eyebrow at Fire's statement. A midlife crisis? Now? There's about a thousand other crisis's going on at one time!

"Well, if you feel like it, you can talk to me about your problems. I'll help you get through them if you want me to." He said sincerely.

"I just.....I feel like my relationship with Missy is going downhill, even though we made up and all, I still feel that she resents me for this." Fire said. "And to be honest, I can't blame her, she's been with Moon and all, but she asked for my permission first, and I said it was fine, and it was, it was. But I got Moon pregnant, that's a whole lot worse than just having sex with somepony."

"Well, Fire, I'm no Romeo, but I could try my hardest to help you through this." Stephan said, probably pointing out the understatement of the year. "I'm sure that Missy still loves you for who you are. She already told you that she understands that you have to help Moon through this... stage in her life."

"Heh, she might understand it, but I doubt she'll ever accept it, not completely anyway." Fire said. "Still, I love her, and I know she loves me, and I'll do anything to fix it, just not what she wanted me to. I just can't abandon Moon like that, it's not who I am, nor has it ever been who I am."

Stephan gave a faint sigh.

"Fire, Moon is completely aware that you have no romantic interests in her. Missy knows this, too." Stephan assured him. "Besides, I sort of know how you feel; you know Sirius? She's my daughter now. Moon knows that I have no interests in her. Though, I'm aware that your situation is much more personal than mine, but I kind of understand what you're going through."

"You do not understand what I'm going through, I have to consider the feelings of not only Missy, but Starburst, Glint, Moon, Sirius. And if I don't help Moon, then that child will probably grow up to resent me and I don't want that at all, so don't tell me that you understand how I'm feeling." Fire said.

You were just two days old, too young to know that i'm not your mom. But you just kept drinking, because you needed food.~"

"I don't think things are going to be the same again." Fire said. "I appreciate you being here and trying to make me feel better, but I just don't think that Missy will ever truly forgive me for this, even if it was just a drunken mistake, it's still one of the worst things I've done to her."

 

"Where's mummy?" Glint asked.

Moon picked her up and hugged her, standing back up as well to sit on the couch. "Mom's coming soon Glint, I think she's on her way back from Canterlot right now. All we really have to do is wait until she's back home, and then i'll hand her off to you okay~? But for now, you're gonna be in the blind pony's care."

"Fire, let's face it; nothing has been the same for years." He told him, patting his back. "What's done is done. We just have to accept what has happened and move on. You and Missy will always love each other, and you help each other through your problems. That's why your love for her is eternal. This may seem like a bad situation, but we just have to accept it. I've learned to accept many things that have happened. You should, too." He then gave a sigh. "Though it must be hard for somepony like you. This is a pretty tight spot your in, and there's really not much I can do than try to make you look at it differently.

"Yeah, it is, I'm married, it's easy for somepony like you to say that everything will be fine, but it might not be. And that's what I'm worried about." Fire said, giving a deep sigh.

 

Glint just giggled and flew onto Moon's head and squeaked.

"Moon!" Glint giggled a little more.

Moon felt Glint land on her head and laughed a bit, patting her on the back while she was up there. "That is true dear, i'm Moon! Your friendly, blind, alicorn-ish neighbor that's pretty much your Aunt. Now do you you know your name?" She replied and patted her again.

Glint began to think for a moment, which was unusual for a month old filly. Then she shrugged, she didn't actually know what her own name was. She knew other people's names but not her own. How very peculiar.

 

"Grandy. Come on." Missy called. "You and Zeta coming or what?"

Moon just giggled a bit and pulled Glint from her head to face her. She then sat the baby down upon her lap and nuzzled her. "Your name is Glint, G-L-I-N-T. Can you say Glint?"

 

Zeta was away from the two ponies, looking elsewhere and sighed. He then decided to head off, back to his post up in Luna's room without consent.

Glint just sat there trying to make "Gl" sounds with her mouth.

"Gl.....glll, Glint! That's.....my name?" Glint asked.

 

Luna signalled for her sister to wait and followed after Zeta.
"Zeta, is there something troubling you? If there is something that may affect your duties, you have to tell me, also, I am a little concerned about you." Luna asked.

Moon clapped and nodded. "Glint! Yes ma'am, that's your name. I think it's from the phrase 'a glint of hope' since after all, Missy was pregnant with you when she went on the journey with Zeta and the others. Neat she kept you from harm, huh?"

 

Zeta looked back to Luna. He couldn't deny the fact that he was saddened, and decided to speak up. "Well... I guess, seeing Grand now.. It's like she's avoiding me, so I guess that means she doesn't want me in her life anymore."

Glint began to giggle, but horn began to glow and she levitated Sirius for a couple seconds before dropping her.

"Uh oh." Glint squeaked, looking at Sirius with concern.

 

"Oh, don't say that Zeta. I'm sure she wants you in her life, just not romantically. If two ponies just aren't compatible, then it just can't work, you can't force it, okay?" Luna said, putting a hoof on Zeta.

Siri was picked up for a bit, then when she dropped she awoke with a startle and looked around. "Huh wha!!? Urr.. What happened?"

 

Zeta just nodded, thinking back to the time when the two were together. All of it didn't work out at all, and it was from a lie. "I know, I can't force it, but.. It's just so hard ever since that day..."

Glint flew down and landed next to Sirius.

"Sorry." She squeaked, horn still glowing, then she randomly teleported and disappeared from the room.

 

"Now, we're all returning to Ponyville to celebrate Hearth's Warming with the citizens, would you wish to join us?" Luna asked.
