Missy winced as the glass cut into her arm.
"Just a heads up, the potion will need more than just a few drops, just cut a little bit more, and it'll go a little faster." Missy said, taking deep breaths.

"Are you OK, Missy? Do you want to do this?" Fire asked, Missy nodded.
"Yes, it's a present." Missy said. "Even if it hurts me."

Stephan felt bad for willingly doing this to Missy. He was hurting her, something he'd never even dream of doing. Nevertheless, he cut deeper into the flesh wound, exposing more blood and pouring it into the potion glass.

"I hope this isn't hurting too badly, Missy..." He said.

"No, it does hurt, but not as much as you'd think." Missy said, she looked into the potion bottle, it had turned from it's original purple to a blue-ish color. She took a small cloth and covered the cut with it. "There, it wasn't as bad as I thought, though I do feel kind of light-headed."

"You should lay down for a bit then, Missy." Stephan said to her, lying her backwards on the couch and giving her a small cup of water. "I'll take this potion to Rainbow Dash later. Right now, I think I should stick around and watch everypony open their gifts."

Zeta looked at more of the presents, setting the one aside that was heavy for him. In turn he picked out one for Sirius and Moon, which he handed both of those two.

 

Sirius opened up hers. It was a soft and small pillow, which she immediately hugged into and tipped over, falling asleep. He laughed at what happened. "She was tired, huh.."

 

Meanwhile, Moon had opened up hers. This one was different though, also a very small potion but she picked it up and felt it. There was a letter inside too, which she shown it to Missy to read. "Hey Missy, what does this say?"

 

To, Moonlight Lowwave.

Even in the midst of the outbreak, we have come with a conclusion to fix your small problem. Yes, we have been hard at work with everything ever since, and to find you still alive is remarkable. That's why we have given you this, a cure.

"That's what it says, but it can't be... there's no cure for blindness. At least not one that I know of." Missy said, slightly dizzily. "Anyway, I hope you and Rainbow Dash enjoy the present, I hope it'll be worth it, I mean seriously, I'm literally bleeding for friendship." Missy sighed.

"So, you're OK?" Fire asked.

"Yes, yes I am, just not really used to losing all that blood." Missy replied.

Moon was surprised, immediately smiling to what Missy said and took the small potion. "It's the magic-sealed version, nopony but me has had it for some reason... Did they, really fix it though? I have to try.." Then she took a gulp down, drinking the lightish blue liquid.

 

It made her burp at the end, bubbles popping out of her mouth. But it really did do it. Inside her, two magic seals were located, as the potion unlocked the two. Both of her cold, icy looking pupils began to slowly turn black, as her vision came to life once more. "What the... Holy, Luna... I.. I.." The first thing she did was look to everypony there ans began crying. "I.. Can see you, all..~"

 

Zeta gave a smile and a wink to Moon, before handing out the last of them. There was one for Caramel and Starburst, one for Grand, and a couple to everypony by the princess. After handing all of them out, he decided to open the one he had.

 

Inside, there was a case. And in the case, held a pistol. It was a Colt Model 1911, with an included clip that was perfectly new. He picked up the gun and gave a little laugh, cocking it back. "Sweet... This was from the royal guards themselves.."

Stephan smiled at Missy.

"I only have two wishes this year; for you and Fire to be happy and for me to make Dashie's dreams come true. Looks like one of my wishes has already been granted. We'll have to see about Dash's wishes." Stephan said. "Still, thank you so much, Missy. How can i repay you?" Stephan then heard Moon say that her gift allowed her to see... and it was true. The color returned to her eyes and Stephan walked up to the mare and hugged her. "I'm so happy for you, Moon."

Moon just gave a small smile and nuzzled Stephan. She stopped crying, but her tears were still coming out. Then she looked at him, touching his face before her smile got a little wider. "So that's how you look like Stephan.. That's how you all look like, it's so amazing..~"

"You don't need to do anything to repay me, Stephan, you've saved my life on multiple occasions, so think of this as me repaying the favor." Missy joked. "Do I still look as attractive as I did a week ago, Moon?" Missy asked jokingly.

 

Starburst sat down and opened his gift, it was a book, a spell book.

"Wow, this is.....this is one of the most rare books, even in Canterlot, there are only 5 of these because the spells were forbidden in olden times, but have since been allowed. Because of the increased need for self defence.

After hugging a bit with Stephan, Moon took a look over to Missy and smiled. "Missy.. You looked just as beautiful as you were the day I met you. Who couldn't say that to a good friend like you, you know?" Then she gave a nice hug, kissing her afterwards on the lips.

 

Zeta looked around some more, smiling and called out. "Alright, that's the last of the presents.. And sadly, that means I have to leave now. I'll be gone for quite some time, so i'll give you my goodbyes." He stuck the gun with the clip inside his saddlebag and smiled to everypony, then stood up. He first walked over to Stephan, giving him a pat on the back before manly hugging him. "Stephan, you've been such a wonderful pony to me. Me and you are the best of friends, and nopony can take it away." Soon, the guy remembered something and rummaged around in his saddlebag. "Oh! Also, this is to everypony here. Keep it." He pulled out a picture of him. It was a full shot of Zeta, looking to something. "This was me when I was 21, in the army. it was quite a nice picture, and I didn't have my cutie mark back then."

Fire walked over to Zeta.

"Wow, you're leaving? Well, if I ever see you again, which I assume I will, just take care. And if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be alive today. So thank you." Fire said, extending his hoof for a hoofbump but instead just giving him a hug.

Stephan smiled and hugged Zeta back.

"Zeta, I know that I may come off as a jerk sometimes, but you're an awesome friend. You care so much and you've never left my side. That's all I could ever ask for out of you." He said. "Wherever you go, I wish you nothing but the best of luck." He then smiled back at everypony. "Well, if that's everything, I'll be on my way, too. I'm gonna deliver this to Dash." He said, beginning to leave the house.

Zeta gave a little nod, then turned to Missy, Fire, and Moon. He smiled at the three, giving each of them hugs. "Missy, Fire.. I want you to know, that you two are like one pony. You've always stuck together no matter what, but I want you to include somepony with you." He then looked at Moon, who was smiling. "Moon's apart of your family now. She's never known where she's come from, and she hasn't seen her adopted parents in forever. Treat this girl right, alright you two?" Then she gave a hug and kiss on the cheek to Moon, and whispered to her. "If Grand ever needs it, then give it to her..~"

 

Moon just nodded and began crying a bit, her smile had faded as she hugged Zeta tightly. She knew what was up already, since Zeta told her. "Alright.. I-i'll... Miss you...~"

 

Zeta just let her cry on his shoulders for a bit longer, until she was able to recover good enough and smiled. "Stay healthy with your new baby, and take care of Sirius for me, alright?" 

 

Moving on next was Starburst at the corner, which he walked to and patted his back. "You.. Stay married with Caramel forever, even within the harshest of times. It'll be quite nice knowing you two will live on until the end of time, and when we see each other again then tell me how it goes."

 

After all of that, he gave quite a smile, going back to Missy to speak. "Tell Caramel I said goodbye, and tell Grand.. Exact words, okay? Tell her, it's not your fault..~"

"I will, Zeta. Thank you, you've been a wonderful friend to us all." Missy said.

"The best that you possibly could." Fire continued.

"We couldn't ask for any more." Starburst concluded, then suddenly, Glint teleported onto Zeta's head.
"Zeta." Glint squeaked, gaining a few laughs from Starburst, Missy and Fire.

Zeta felt Glint on her head and laughed, then pulled her down to eye level and cradled her. "Glint.. You stay alright too, and make sure you protect your younger brother. After all, you'll be 1 year old by then, a very strong Alicorn!" Then he gave a little kiss on her forehead before handing her back to Missy, then opened up the door. "Anyways, it's all nice seeing you again.. Take care..~"

 

Moon waved to Zeta, still shedding tears but let out a smile. "Bye Hyperion... You were always my best friend..~"

Stephan smiled at the others before leaving. After he left the house, he made an immediate run toward's Rainbow Dash's house, but realized that she wasn't there. He then saw Zeta leave the house and jumped down next to him.

"Where are you going, anyways?" He asked him.

"Okay, that's thoroughly depressing." Missy said. "Now, let's move on to greater things, like this little child, Glint's gonna have a younger half-sibling, it's gonna be weird, is Glint gonna hate the little foal, I worry about that, well, not all the time because I only just thought that but you get my point."

(( he didn't leave just yet, but was about to. So just say he came to the front door :3 ))

 

Zeta looked to Stephan, surprised that he showed up again and smiled. "I'm going back, what else? Anyways, Stephan.. I'ma see you later alright, I have a thing to take care of that needs my aid. Here, spend some time with the rest of the ponies, i'll miss you..~" He said while letting Stephan in. Then he looked back to everypony once more, giving a wave and a smile before closing the door behind him and left.

 

Outside, Zeta looked around at Ponyville once more. He stood about 20 feet from the house, before pulling out the Model 1911 from his saddlebag. "Well.. This thing is probably gonna be used once.. So I might as well use it..~" Then he cocked it back, loading one into the chamber and stuck it up to his head.

"I'm sorry, Grand Finale.."

 

Moon just stared down, still smiling while she wiped the tears off her eyes. "Yeah, I get your point.."

 

 

Then Hyperion pulled the trigger.

"Did you hear that?" Missy asked as her ears pricked up. "Sounded like a gunshot, exactly like a gunshot." Missy shook her head. "Probably just some ponies hunting or something."

 

Starburst was reading his book and Glint was flying around the whole house.

Stephan was shut back into the house. He wasn't gonna stand for this. He ran back outside to see where he was going. When he saw the sight, he couldn't believe his eyes.

"Wha... oh no... oh no, no, no, Zeta!" Stephan ran over to his buddy and picked up the gun. He couldn't hold if back any longer.

Stephan began crying over Zeta' body.

"Missy..." Moon replied, staring down at the floor and didn't bother to watch Stephan go by. "That gunshot, was a gunshot.. 15 feet away from here, where Zeta once stood..." 

 

Sirius perked up immediately from the gunshot, looking around. "Huh, wha..?" But Moon walked over to her, smiling with some more tears and hugged her. "It's alright, it's alright...~"

Missy turned around and ran out of the door, it was snowing now so it was hard to see. Eventually, she found Stephan crying next to the now-dead Zeta. Many emotions were running through her at that moment.

"Zeta.....why did you do this?" She asked, sitting down next to him. "After all we've been through, all that we survived, you just gave up?" Missy then looked up at Stephan. "Why would he do that? To us? To the princess?"

At that moment, something sparked inside of Stephan... a change of heart.

"Because he's a coward." Stephan got up and looked down at the stallion. "He said that Grand was the only thing that was keeping him going in life... and because he didn't have her, he thought he had nothing." Stephan muttered. "Fool."

"But he didn't have nothing. He had us." Missy said, feeling tearful. "We were his friends, he didn't have to kill himself. Fire said something to me about... leaving Ponyville behind us and just finding somewhere new to raise our family, because this town has brought us nothing but despair and unhappiness." Missy levitated the magic element off of her head and threw it down. "I just want a normal life for my family." Missy started sobbing.
