Stephan laughed. "Nah. I think I'll live. It's just a little flesh wound. Nothing I can't power through, though." Stephan said. He put his hind legs on the table and kicked back. "At least you're learning. But I keep hearing you saying things like "I'd probably be dead if it weren't for you guys." That's not true, Grand. You help us in more ways than you think."

"Not in the way everyone else does. Everyone is so well equipped to fight and build and heal. I'm no good at any of those things. I help, but not nearly as much as everyone else does" she said, a little frustrated. "It's no matter, I'll get better. I promised myself I would become more helpful"

Once everypony had left, Fire Horn spoke first.

"Starburst, we want you to know something, we should've told you this a while ago." Fire Horn said, he looked at Missy and Missy looked back.

"Me and your father aren't together any more." Missy said, Starburst looked shocked, he was taken completely off-guard.

"What? When did this happen? You always seemed so... happy." Starburst said.

"I'm going to lay my cards on the table, we just kind of drifted apart, after what i'd seen out in the wastelands." Fire Horn said. "I couldn't unsee that, it was too traumatic to just ignore." Starburst didn't want to hear any of it, he ran out the door and flew up to the top of the boat.

"STARBURST!!" Fire Horn yelled.

"This is why i didn't want to tell him about this, i didn't want him to be upset." Missy said, she looked away. "You know, just because our relationship failed. Doesn't mean i stopped loving you, never."

"I love you too, more than anything, but..." Fire Horn replied.

"But what? We can try and work everything out between us but we have to try." Missy said, Fire sat on the bed next to Missy, they looked into each other's eyes, the love was clear as day. Missy, gave Fire a kiss.

 

(Things happen next that i cannot even stomach, so just let's skip it yeah?)

Stephan thought about that for a minute. She was sort of right. She didn't have much fighting experience. He lifted his head and gave a sheathed machete to Grand. "I only taught you to use a weapon for five minutes a few days ago. I think I should teach you in full." Stephan smirked. "Does that sound good?"

Fire Horn and Missy exited a small while after, Fire went to check on the engine and see if it was fit for use, Missy was just glad to get up off of the bed and onto her hooves.

"Hey guys, what are you doing?" Missy asked. "Oh, by the way, still never showed you how to levitate stuff like a pro, if you're not busy, i could sure use the entertainment."

"Oh not much." Stephan said. "We were just having a conversation about what you guys are studying over. I wouldn't know of any of this "Plants and herbs" stuff." Stephan laughed. "Anyways, I was insisting on teaching her how to use this, since I didn't really get to show her much back in Canterlot." He raised up the machete.

Fire Horn was down into the engine, it appeared to be fixed and everything, but it would need to be checked for faults before it could be used.

"I know, why don't I try and use it, i'm quite proficient with many weapons." Missy said. "Come on, it'll be fun."

"Ummm... I guess. But take it outside. I don't want anypony getting hurt." Stephan and Missy went to the lower part of the boat. "Alright, Missy. Show me what you've got." Stephan said.

Missy flipped the machete around her hooves a few times before levitating it and entering a battle stance. She lunged the machete forward quite quickly but not using the full extent of her magic.

In the few hours, Zeta had removed his armor and sat back up on the top of the boat again. The memories back 8 years ago had flooded in after shooting that captain, and there was nothing much he could do about it but remember.

That day, in the train.

The villain who had held his girl hostage.

"P-paint... Where would you be..?"

Stephan's eyes widened and he ducked under the machete. "Alright, Missy. I'll play with you." Stephan said in a cocky way. He drawed his two electrical rods and placed them together, making an electrical boa staff. "Hit me with all you've got."

Grand figured she could learn another day and walked over to zeta. "You look pretty deep in thought. Mind if I sit here? We haven't visited much since you got back" she said, watching Stephan and missy fight. She would never get as good as them. "What's going on?" Grand asked, seeing zetas perplexed face

"Are you sure you wish to toy with..." Missy's horn started glowing and her eyes did the same, her voice boomed: "...the power and magic of the mighty alicorn race." Missy looked slightly angry, then sliced upwards with the machete. After she had her fun with that, she went back to normal. "A little scare tactic from Luna."

Stephan simply yawned and got back up to his hooves and wiped the blood off of his face. "I've faced a giant, dark-matter cerberus before. Ten times as scary. Good attempt, though." Stephan noticed that his memory of adventures was returning. All he needed was a good fight. Stephan ran up and swept Missy off her hooves and onto the ground with the electric edge of his staff.

Zeta didn't look toward Grand, but he continued to stare at the ocean. "Just, old memories.."

He almost started to become like before, just a sad old stallion with nothing to lose. Hopefully she wouldn't notice, but that was for her to see since even he didn't know.

Missy quickly tripped him and used her wings to push herself back from him, contemplating her next attack. Teleporting underneath him, she popped up and made Ghost fly into the air. She started laughing as she teleported away.

Stephan pushed himself towards the ground and landed on his hooves. "Huh. You're pretty fast, too." Stephan made a few quick and calculated attacks on Missy and uppercutted her into the air. He jumped up and did an air kick, sending her across the room.

Missy's vision was quite blurry, there was a pain in her right wing, she tried to dash towards Ghost but she fell over and momentarily lost conciousness...

Fire Horn was certain that the engine would work. He turned it on, it had been refueled already, so there was no need.

"Oh sweet Luna! Missy, I'm so sorry!" Stephan helped Missy back on her hooves. "I didn't mean for the kick to be that strong." Stephan looked at the wing he hurt on Missy's body. "Well, it doesn't look too bad. Just a little tweak. You can walk it off easily." Stephan gave a slight smile.

He took a deep breath of air and sighed, but kept his word. "You still remember that time, in the train. Where Zycrin had grabbed Paint and held her? I never told you guys since but.. She was a pony, that I loved and deeply cared about. After being separated for 8 years, it's always bummed me to think about any memories with her but I always manage to avoid it until the next one appears. It's just a never ending game which will get me depressed again, but I don't want that.."

"Yeah, i'm fine, i just.... oh." Missy said, noticing the wound in her wing was still there and it started bleeding again. "I've got to dash, but we should do this again sometime." The boatt roocked and shuddered, it sprung to life. Fire Horn trotted up to the deck, "We are in business, guys!"

Stephan had a perplexed look on his face as Missy left the basement. He noticed that her wing was starting to bleed again. He assumed it was from the kick, but he didn't really feel like messing with it. He exited the room and heard Fire saying that the ship is moving again. "Thank Celestia! I'm sick of this ship!"

"I can't promise anything, but we should be in Bruchellia by sundown, which depending on your personal views can be good or bad." Fire Horn said. "I'd recommend helping Missy with her wing and get everyone prepared for arrival. Also, bring that can of fuel from the other ship, she needs a refill."
