Justin ZW 396 July 31, 2013 Share July 31, 2013 So, the mobile view is a real pain. It's convenient when I want to quickly read and send a message or something, but actually searching for content is nigh impossible. Basically, I'd just like to see a system similar to the main view for viewing different pages in threads. As is, the "next page" and "previous page" buttons are all we get, and they aren't very efficient for navigation. Please consider this. I don't think it would be too difficult to code. Might take awhile, but hey, all coding does. Thank you! A Whovian Administrator of Zelda Wiki who loves Rainbow Dash and all her antics.
Princess Periwinkle 3,775 July 31, 2013 Share July 31, 2013 As far as I know this is probably the best answer you can get, taken from a similar suggestion: Unfortunately this isn't possible to do on the mobile version of the site. However, there are some alternate ways to go about it. One way is to change the URL in the top of your browser so that it says what page of the thread you want to reach, in this case you would enter the number of the last page. (This is admittedly very annoying.) The other way this is possible is by clicking the link, and it will take you to the last unread post. (Unfortunately this doesn't really work either.) The IP Board mobile skin is incredibly finicky and limiting, so it's difficult to modify it. Basically you have to use the full version of the website in order to skip all the pages and go straight to the last one. Sorry! Also, taken from this old thread: AFAIK, Feld0 doesn't have as much control over the mobile version, and isn't a mobile programmer, so he doesn't want to mess with it. Also, apparently, the IP Board app has a lot more options than the mobile site, but it's not free, so I haven't tried it yet. Mobile suits my needs just fine. If I really need to do something on the full site, I'll just use my computer when I'm on next. On the whole, there hasn't seemed to be much interest in updating the mobile version of the site in the past. I rarely use the site on my mobile device, but when I do, I use the full version. Yes, IPB does run on PHP but it isn't open source. I'd like to thank the MLP Vector Club for the images used in my avatar. Justin ZW 396 August 13, 2013 Author Share August 13, 2013 Hm. I suppose that will still work. I'll just have to work a little magic... A Whovian Administrator of Zelda Wiki who loves Rainbow Dash and all her antics.
King 5,625 August 13, 2013 Share August 13, 2013 The mobile version of this site has always been a rather big issue. However that being said, I wouldn't rule out having a better designed mobile version at a later stage as the Poniverse develops. We have many talented developers and im sure we will pick up some more alon the way, so who knows, we may get what we desire in the future Goddamn right, you should be scared of me Twitter
