Hello, I am new!

Hello everypony, I am completely new to the My Little Pony show and fan base, I have only been a brony for a couple of weeks now and I have to say I am amazed at everything so far. I guess before I thought that is was odd for guys to watch MLP and was not expecting myself to get into it but I was proven wrong, I had a friends give me a little push into watching the first 3 episodes and well here I am. So far my favorite ponies are Rainbow Dash and Twilight, I prefer them because I can relate to them more then I can the other ponies, though the other ponies are still awesome! I am an 18 years old male, I live in Canada. I like to program in Java and C/C++. I like to play video games alot of Skyrim, Zelda, Halo, Minecraft. I am hoping I can enjoy myself on these forums with everypony else, I am sure I will enjoy it here.

Hello! :D

I too was one of those haters (A couple years back, I think 2ish), well I didn't really hate, I just didn't imagine ever watching that show haha :P

I like videogames too, Halo series probably being my favorite, though I never liked any halo games after Halo 3, must be because I'm not a fan of changes. Skyrim is a fun game too, though I play Morrowind and Oblivion more than Skyrim (probably because those were one of the main games I used to play hehe).

Twilight Sparkle is the best pony!!

I'm new to this site, just joined around 12 AM, and I originally thought this was going to be "like the other sites" having a rude, corrupt, not enjoyable, etc, etc. community.

I was wayyyyyy wrong on that!

This website is amazingly cool, with so many forums to choose from you will not get bored!

Yeah I guess I wasn't so much of a hater more or less thought it was odd and giggled at it.

Ya, I remember telling my dad "Hey dad, did you know grown men watch MLP" when me and him saw a MLP FIM train toy commercial, I was laughing at it never expecting I would ever watch/be a fan of it. :P

Welcome to the forum, Xelphos. ^^ I'm happy to see you gave the series a chance.  More often than not, most bronies originally would shy away from the idea of watching the show.  After giving the show a chance of course, we find ourselves now in one of the biggest fandoms in today's modern society.  I was actually not completely sure about the whole thing when I first started out.  The only thing that caught my attention was the style of drawing.  I thought the characters were super cute, but then after watching several episodes I found myself part of the fandom ^^

Java and C are the only languages you know?  I know a little myself, but I'll be learning more before long.  If it's something you enjoy you might think about going to school for it.  There are a lot of job opportunities in today's society for programmers.

I used to play Skyrim back in the day, but my knee couldn't take it. lol

Have fun on the forums ^^ Hope to see you around.

EDIT: Never hated on the show or bronies before my 'conversion', I just didn't think it was for me.  Obvs I was wrong XD

Yeah, now I find my self super addicted to ponies. When I first heard of guys watching MLP I was a bit shocked as I still remember what the old one looked like because of my little sister, so I thought they where the same but I found out later the FiM is alot different then the old MLP shows. I was going to goto school for programming but I am not the kind of person who can learn from the teaching methods that traditional schools use today, I find it easier to learn on my own and easier to stay motivated.

Lauren Faust has done the show wonders.  Credit to the animators as well.

I'm not saying you need school to teach you programming, it's just you need school to get a degree.  Learning on your own is fine, but employers aren't going to hire someone who doesn't have a degree in the field they're looking for.  It'd be nice to think they'd trust you on your word if you say you can handle the job, but they don't.  I'm going for an associate of applied science in Computer Information Systems.  That's a guaranteed job programming, be it web design or computer programming.

Honestly, college only helps you to learn some of the stuff.  You have to learn most of it yourself by studying.

Well, welcome to the forums and the herd! Like most everyone else here, I used to scoff at the idea of watching a show about candy-colored ponies. And then I saw that I enjoyed it, feared for my sanity, and wondered what others would think of me.

But... then I just decided that the rest of the world can take their pick of going to the moon, being turned to stone, banished under the arctic ice, or... rebuilding a brick door.

Heh, heh. Have yourself some fun here!

Welcome to the herd! You seem like you have a pretty good taste in ponies (Though Fluttershy's the best one), and I hope you stick around here!
