Blast shook his head and looked Leo in the eye. "Not unless we've checked everything here. We can't leave a stone unturned. Every item that we find here will help out the community greatly. If you've checked everywhere,we'll go." Blast was sort of eyeballing the whiskey. It's been a while since he's had a good Jack Daniel's.

Leo pouted "Fine, but if you touch the alcohol then expect me to join in!"

 

He continued looking amongst the wreckage. It was a good while before Leo stopped.

 

"Right, I found a few candy bars by that broken fridge there, and a box of cigarettes" He shoved them into his saddle bag, it ripped slightly "Damn... anyways, what did you find amigo?"

Blast was rummaging through a fallen tent when he found something. "Whoa. These guys must've liked their fruit, cause I found a whole bunch of it! Oranges, grapes, apples, and mangos!" Blast eyeballed the mangoes for a few seconds, and then regained his focus. He put the fruit in his saddlebag. "Okay. I think we checked everywhere. Let's walk back. I don't want you to have a stroke from my speed."

Leo laughed nervously "A stroke... yeah..."

 

A couple of hours passed and the ponies chatted along the way. Leo decided to crack open a bottle of whiskey and drink from it as he walked. They eventually returned back to the base, and made their way to Slavik's office.

 

"Ah, back so soon?" Slavik asked

 

"Not only that, we found some supplies!" Leo grinned "I let you have the honours of telling him, Blast"

Blast nodded and approached Slavik. "The camp had tons of supplies. Fruit, candy, water, and, get this... whiskey! A whole treasure trove of it, too!" Blast opened up the saddlebags and gave them to Slavik. He saw everything the two ponies collected, especially the whiskey.

Slavik did a double take "Whiskey?" he said surprised "I'm surprised that's intact"

 

"The place we were scavenging was probably the crash site for the kitchen segment of our ship" Leo replied

 

"Well, I'll store this in a supply shack for now. But don't tell Lieutenant Romula, you know how she likes a drink" Slavik warned

 

The two ponies unloaded the supplies and exited the shack.

 

Leo turned to Blast and smiled "Amigo, this crash landing we had isn't so bad after all!" He stuck out a hoof, waiting for a high five

Blast smiled to the gesture and high-fived Leo. "We make a pretty good team." Blast took out a mango and started munching on it. "Hopefully these jobs will start leading into adventure. It's been a while since I had a good adventure." Blast said with a grin.

"Slavik might have some more jobs to do tomorrow, we can check then" Leo said "Come on, lets see how the base is doing"

 

The two ponies walked around. More shacks were being built, and the ponies seemed to be adapting quite well to their condition. The area was starting to turn from a wreck into a small village.

Eventually, the duo came across Romula. She was talking to another mare. When she saw them approach, she dismissed the mare.

 

"Can I help you two?" She asked

 

"Not really, we're just taking a look around. Not a bad set up you've got going here Romula" Leo smirked "Who was the mare that you were chatting up?"

 

"N-No one!" Romula blushed "And I didn't do this all by myself, every pony contributed to help set up this base"

Blast felt honored to be in the presence of this important mare. He walked up to her. "Hello, miss Romula. I don't believe we've met. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Blasted Nova. But you can just call me Blast for short. I'm the same pony who was on the Marine carrier before the crash."

"Blasted Nova huh? I think I might of seen you around" Romula shakes Blast's hoof "But a lot of ponies were on the Marine segment of the ship. I can lose track"

 

"I'm still surprised we survived that crash" Leo sighed "The bit of the ship we were in was the first part to rip off"

 

Romula pulls out a cracked interactive data pad. She messes around with it and brings up a small hologram of the ship 'Unity'.

 

"According to this, the Marine section, the part of the ship we were on, had most of the ships weapons. Which explains why there are quite a few crates of ammunition lying about" She tapped at the data pad again "Then almost immediately after that, the resting quarters broke off. That was were a majority of our colonists were"

 

Leo cringes "Poor guys, we don't know where they crashed do we?"

 

Romula shakes her head

Blast thought for a moment and then spoke up. "Maybe they crashed somewhere in this desert terrain. Someone just has to go and find them. That's where I would probably come in. With my speed, I could track down your missing colonists in a matter of moments."

"Perhaps..." Romula scratched her head "I'll set up a mission for it tomorrow. I don't want any pony leaving the base when it's dark"

 

She put away her data pad "Now I hear rumours that we've found whiskey. Is this true?"

 

Leo looked at Blast then back to Romula "Umm... No. It's not true at all, right Blast?"

Blast managed to keep a straight face. "Nah. All we found are water bottles, candy bars, and a bunch of fruit. The fruit should keep everypony fed for at least a week. But, no. We didn't find any whiskey." Blast continued to munch on his mango. "Ohhh... so juicy and good."

Romula stared the two for a while. Their faces managed to stay straight.

 

"Fine" She sighed "If you find any though, let me know" She walked off to continue her work

 

Leo let out a held breath "Damn, that was close" he turned to Blast "I'm gonna head off to the canteen we recently set up. It's a good place to socialize with other ponies, you wanna come with or shall I see ya tomorrow?"

Blast shrugged "If we're living here for a while, I might as well get to know who we'll be staying with. After all we are a community." Blast walked with Leo to the canteen. Once they got there, the place looked nicely built. It was mostly made of wood, with a metal tiling. "Sheesh. Done in a day? These ponies must have some skill."

"Marines are expert survivalists, they can do stuff like easily" Leo said proudly

 

He quickly glanced around, he spotted two mares on a nearby table. One was a purple Unicorn and a had a white mane, whilst the other was a white earth pony with blonde, curly hair.

 

"Amigo" Leo nudged Blast "Those two over there are the Sunshine sisters! I think we should introduce ourselves to them!" Leo gave a suggestive look

Blast chuckled a little bit and put hoof behind his back. "I don't know, Leo. I've never really been too much of a mare's pony, you know." Blast always felt nervous around most mares. He didn't know why. He was always capable of talking to Rainbow Dash without a problem.

"Nah man, don't you worry. The younger sister, Madrid Sunshine, she's the friendliest earth pony you would have ever met!" Leo smirked "Her sister, Violet, is a bit of an uptight unicorn. But still friendly. Just follow my lead" He dragged Blast over with him to the table

 

"Guess who?" Leo joked

 

Violet sighed "Oh no, here we go"

 

"Hiya Leo!" Madrid greeted "Who's your friend?"

 

"This guy is Blast, he's stallion of many talents! Ain't that right buddy?"

Blast let out a slight 'heh' and his face flushed red. Madrid seemed nice enough. Blast took a seat in a wooden chair. "Funny story, actually. Me and Leo here met just today. Yeah, I can do quite a bit. I can run at mach 3 speeds. I can also do a move I call the sonic blast. Still don't know how to properly control it, though. I guess I'm kind of a big deal."

Madrid took interest in the conversation between her the two stallions. However, Violet was distant and barely responsive.

 

"You should see how fast he can go!" Leo put his hoofs in the air for dramatic effect "It was like WOOOSH! And I was all... Hey Violet, are you listening?"

 

Violet seemed to be staring off into the distance. She ignored Leo.

 

"Okay fine" Leo muttered "Anyways, he's super fast!"

 

Madrid's eyes widened "That's soooo cool!" she cheered "How did you learn that?"

Blast scratched his head. "Good question. Although I can't really answer it, because I don't know. When I dropped into Equestria five years ago, I just seemed to... have the speed." He then shrugged "Oh well. Doesn't really bother me. As long as I have it, I'm content."

"Awesome!" Madrid smiled "That's way better than what me and Violet do. We're just boring colonists"

 

Violet muttered under breath "This is so depressing..."

 

Leo opened his saddlebag and pulled out some candy bars. He put them on the table.

 

"We found these during our scavenging run" Leo said "Take one, this might be the last time you have a candy bar for a long time"

 

Madrid happily took a couple and started eating them. Violet just pushed them away from her.

Blast rose an eyebrow "What's up with her? She's hardly said anything." Blast took a candy bar and ate it. SO far, the two mares seemed good enough. Madrid was all happiness and sunshine. Violet just seemed like a spoil sport. He walked over to the mare. "What's up?"

Violet tried to ignore Blast but his direct approach made it hard to do so.

 

"Oh, I don't know" She said sarcastically "Being trapped on a foreign planet with no way off, doesn't that just make life grand?"

 

Rubbing her eyes, she put on a more serious tone "My life has gone to hell, I don't know where my parents are, I have to look after my sister, we're stuck in some place we never heard of... how the heck can you cope with that?"

Blast put his hoof on Violet's shoulder. "Look, I know what that's like. I haven't seen my family in years. I can cope with being on this new world because I've been going to new places for a long time. If it'll make you feel better, I'll help you find your sister." Blast smiled and awaited and answer.
