I was just wondering if any of you guys have been watching "Under the Dome" on CBS?  And if so, did you read the book before starting to watch the show?  What do you think of the series so far?

I remember when I saw the first preview for this show and the first thing that came to mind is the the dome from The Simpsons Movie, but that's before I found out that It's based off a book.

My mother is watching it, but it's not really my thing, too grimdark for me. Anarchy and people getting hurt, horrible people trying to control the town and general suffering with no light at the end of the tunnel...

I don't like to watch these kinds of shows anymore, I always get nauseous and depressed.

In the show, they have a reference to the Simpsons movie.  Some kids are having a party because one of them has no parents inside the dome.  One kid says that they have the Simpsons movie running on a loop, and says something along the lines of "they saw it coming."

I watched the first episode. Between someone's arm getting irreparably chopped off and someone else's pacemaker literally exploding out of them, I... really didn't care to see any more. I applaud Stephen King and his work, but his horror stuff just isn't for me.
