I have heard about this, and i always wanted to try it so here it goes. What you are supposed to do is take where i left off in the story, and then add into it, and it just keeps changing as it goes.

It was a warm cloudy day in Equestria. Everything seemed at peace, children playing, bees buzzing. Regardless of how nice the day, Twilight had to get her daily study's  in.

Spike, can you help me find my book on Halloween Spells, "Tricks, not treats."

I am working on it Twi, whats the rush?

Halloween is this Thursday, that's tomorrow, and i need allot of new scary tricks to keep the ponies entertained this year, since princess Luna cannot make it this year, Princess Celestia is counting on me to organize and entertain the entire Ponyville. How could you be calm at a time like this?

Calm down Twilight, you have all your friends to help you, besides, everypony will be scared enough at that wicked Starswirl The Boring costume you wear every year.

I don't have time for this Spike, huu here it is. bats (mutters) clowns, here it is, the ultimate Halloween spell, ponies will be talking about it for generations,......

and you guys finish the rest. I figured i would choice a Halloween theme since its just around the corner. You can leave off and have other people add to your stories as well, or maybe even me.

Twilight opens the book containing the spell, and the book starts to give off a green glow. Spike peers into the book.

 

Twilight concentrates as she starts to perform the spell.

I can't do this! Spike, we need to find somewhere else to practice the spell just incase something goes wrong.

Are you sure Twi? Well, we can go a mile or two into the everfree forest. 

Twilight and Spike venture out, bringing the book containing the Halloween spell. After about an hour or so, they stumble across an opening in the forest. The area seems to be closed off by trees in every other direction.

Twilight once again begins to perform the spell.

 

Darkness shrouds the area, cracks develop in the ground rapidly as light is seeming through.

Spirit like entities prance and canter out from the cracks as they start to form bigger. A cascade of dust and stones collapse inward as a circular hole in the ground is forming. The spirits of deceased ponies are dashing, climbing, and hovering their way out. Ominous clouds of purple smoke border the ring.

Twilight and Spike abscond, rushing into a nearby bush, as a cacophony of cackles and squeals escape the looming hole.

Twi! What have we done!?

 

This is temporary, I can disband them when I want to. Don't worry Spike. 

Twilight reverses the spell. The spirits are being sucked into the hole, by the dozens. The whole slowly closes as the rocks come back together. 

See? They are harmless. Plus, they cannot do anything. It's for show! I can guarantee nothing bad will go wrong.

Spike sighs in relief.

Alright, If you say so.

Twilight and Spike slowly head on home.

Twilight practices harnessing the spell every day until the day of.

Today is the day of Halloween. 

 

//(MEEP. I haven't wrote in a long time.)

Princess Luna watches all of this from her giant air dirigible.

 

"How DARE she!" Luna screamed angrily, spittle flying from her mouth. "Nightmare Night is MY holiday! If Twilight thinks she can replace it with this "Halloween," she's sorely mistaken! FLIM! FLAM!"

 

The two con ponies heard Luna's shout and quickly trotted up to the bridge of the airship. They bowed before her.

 

"You called, Princess?"

 

"Yes. Twilight's evil plan must not succeed! Luckily, there is a way to stop her. The crux of Twilight's plan is that spell she plans to cast on Nightmare Night. Without that spell she will be unable to change Nightmare Night into this "Halloween."

 

"No offence Princess, but what does this have to do with us?" Flam questioned.

 

"An excellent question. You two are going to travel into ponyville and do whatever it takes to prevent Twilight from casting her evil spell. Any crime you commit, short of injuring or killing ponies, in pursuing this goal will be pardoned. Once it is done, you both shall receive enough gold to live out the rest of your lives in splendor."

 

Both of the brothers grinned like foals at the mention of gold. "As you wish, princess! We won't let Twilight cast that spell!" Flim said.

 

"Wonderful! We will be landing in Ponyville momentarily. And remember, I'll be watching you both very closely!"

Manehatten burned. Most of its inhabitants had been slashed to pieces, at least the lucky ones anyway. Others had died by fire, and others still had been crushed by rubble collapsing on top of them. A lone figure walked about, his long white hair waving in the breeze created by the roaring fires consuming the air. An impossibly long sword was belted to his black trench coat.  

 

"Help! HELP!" A mare trapped under a heavy support beam cried out for aid. The lone figure calmly walked into the burning building in which the mare was trapped, lifting the support beam with ease. 

 

"Thank you so much!" the mare cried in gratitude.

 

"Do you know where Ponyville is?" The lone figure's voice was cool and collected despite the situation.

 

"Um, it's that way..." The mare noticed the lone figure's strange appearance for the first time. "Who... Who are you?"

 

"Sephiroth" the lone figure divulged, before walking in the direction the mare pointed out.

Far, far away from the happy lands of Equestria there was forsaken, desolate land; a place where even demons feared to tread. Here the air was a malevolent force that sought to strangle the life out of any who dared trespass; and the ground was an endless sea of hateful malice. Only one jagged peak rose from this sea of destructive chaos, piercing the sky with pillars of inky black rock. Atop this mountain was a place of unfathomable evil, a dread castle whose architecture laughed in the face of basic physics. Each and every brick of this Celestia forsaken stronghold had been used to crush a small, adorable kitten to death before being neatly slotted into place. Only one man dared to claim dominion over this land, the dread necromancer Darkblade Stormgiggle. He sat in his throne room in his castle at this very moment, a laptop resting on one of his knees. He was scrolling through some old games on MLP forums, looking for one that piqued his interest. 

 

"What's this?" Stormgiggle said to himself as he eyed one of the games. "Finish this story? Sounds like it could be fun!" He clicked on the link, and read all the posts inside the forum game. He smiled to himself, already thinking up a a ton of directions the story could go from here. "Yes... Twilight Sparkle will rue the day I found this game. I shall transform her life into an endless parade of horror from which there will be no escape! Her suffering will be my magnum opus! MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Giggling madly to himself, he began to write...

 

(Yes, I totally just made myself the main antagonist of this story. Not that it matters, this game will most likely be forgotten agein in no time.)
