Jack saw the paper Charcoal wrote on. He read it. It gave him motivation. No way was he stopping know. Jack jumped back on all four hooves and went to Charcoal and gave her a giant kiss. "Thank you for the motivation." Jack grabbed onto Charcoal's hoof and ran down the halls until they were back in the main lobby. Jack looked around until he saw a nurse. He ran up to her and asked where a doctor was available. The nurse answered and told Jack the directions. Jack led Charcoal deeper into the hospital until he stopped in front of another office. This time Jack didn't even stop to read the name. He bucked the door open and barged in. Jack told the doctor that Charcoal couldn't talk. The doctor took a quick look at Charcoal's throat. He got a little hard candy, handed it to her, and told her to suck it. It should help.

Charcoal looked at the candy for a second before putting it in her mouth. It had a sweet, yet slightly spicy taste. She was a little disappointed at that but continued to suck on the candy. She felt something in her throat but decided to just suck on the candy for a while before trying to speak again.

Charcoal thought it was strange that something so simple was starting to fix her speaking problem. Regardless she took the candy and began sucking on it. After a few minutes she had gone through that one as well. She prepared to say something, only this time she did. But it came out small and raspy, but she did speak.

Charcoal nodded. She wasn't going to try and speak for right now, and even if she could she wasn't sure she would. He was right about what he did though, but he was wrong about not feeling bad. Lifting a hoof she gives him a bump on the shoulder. Not like the punch she did before but enough to cause him pain.

"Ah! Hey! Why did you do that?" Jack rubbed his shoulder to try to dumb down the pain. Then suddenly, a revelation came to him. "Is that what feeling bad is like?" Jack was intrigued about how he could still experience emotions without actually feeling them fully.

Charcoal nods at him and smiles, glad that he understood. While it wasn't exactly the feeling it was the best Jack could have at the time. So now he will hopefully remember not to do something like that again, at least in front of her. She gave Jack a little pat on the head.

Jack understood more what emotion was. Emotion were guides to tell everypony their current behaviors. "Thank you very much, Charcoal." Jack thanked. He wondered what other emotions felt like. "Charcoal. What does happiness feel like? What is the opposite of pain?"

Charcoals smile went away, she didn't know how to explain this. She wasn't even sure if she could speak full sentences rights now. She could try and speak but she would at least like to get through the candy first. She decided to just shrug for now and hopefully remember to answer him later.

Charcoal actually began crying a little, she was so happy that Jack cared for her so much. She just hated that he would say that, she was not worth another ponies life. If anything she should put herself in harmsway for others. She is a tough pony, she could take the pain.

Charcoal went in for the hug and embraced him, she also wrapped her wings around him as well. She felt comforted by Jack and was glad he was here for her. 'Ugg, gag. Come on now, can you just cut the sappy stuff and get straight to the action?' Just shut up and let me enjoy myself.
