Jack looked long and hard at Charcoal before looking back at the doctor "I needed to now if she was okay. Have you ever loved someone who got injured and you did everything in your power to see them and ask them if they're okay? Can you understand that?"

"I can understand it but it isn't like the two of you were at the brink of death. If you were, even with the adrenalin rush there is no way you could have carried Miss Embers all the way here. Your injuries were still very bad. Especially Miss Embers here."

"Very bad?" Jack repeated "Will she be okay? Did anything break? How's our little..." Jack walked to the doctor and put his mouth to his ear "How's our little foal doing?" he whispered. Jack backed away "It's really important to us. Or at least to me. I may be a bit paranoid, but you'd be too, eh?"

"Very bad?" Jack repeated "Will she be okay? Did anything break? How's our little..." Jack walked to the doctor and put his mouth to his ear "How's our little foal doing?" he whispered. Jack backed away "It's really important to us. Or at least to me. I may be a bit paranoid, but you'd be too, eh?"

"I was nervous when it happened." The doctor said in a low voice. "She isn't in the best condition. With a concussion and a few hits with blunt objects and a few stab wounds she should actually be in much worse condition than she is. Just make sure she doesn't over exert herself for a little while. And nothing is broken. Though we didn't actually do an echo to check. She said she was pregnant but the nurses assumed she was just a little loopy from the concussion. So is she really expecting?"

"She was in heat so we bedded... twice... then later in the day she got food craving and then she got mood swings. We were convinced that she was pregnant, except there was one symptom that she didn't have. I thought that it was unimportant, but... I just don't know. But I really do hope."

"Maybe an echo would be a good idea. But I'm nervous about the result." Jack listened to the doctor's advice. Jack felt suspicious "Did she tell you tell tell me that? She tried to tell me that earlier today, but I want to make sure that everything won't go bad."

She wouldn't have had anytime to tell me anyway, she was out like a light before I got to the room to take care of her injuries after I was done with you. No, this is coming from experience. Now about that echo, we can get it started within a few minutes, but, you need to keep her still while we are doing it... understand?"

"Well, knowing that she's drugged means that it'll be difficult, but I'll try to keep her from moving... much." Jack felt a giant black hole in his stomach. "I'll do it." Jack was getting excited. Jack looked back at Charcoal, she was still unhooked from the machines. "Should she be unhooked from those machines?"

"Well, knowing that she's drugged means that it'll be difficult, but I'll try to keep her from moving... much." Jack felt a giant black hole in his stomach. "I'll do it." Jack was getting excited. "Well we are going to be moving her to a different room to do the echo, so what do you think." The doctor asks with a smile. He used his magic to levitate Charcoal, who began chanting "whee", onto a movable bed. Then he took one of the machines and plugged it back into her. "Now that one does need to stay. She lost a good bit of blood so we are making sure she has a steady supply for now." He then called a nurse to bring Charcoal to the echo room. "Well lets go." He waved to Jack as he began walking.

Jack followed the doctor "Hey. How do echos work? I've heard what they do, but I grew up in a town where education isn't that important. I mean. If an echo can see through things, then why isn't the royal guards using them in their military to see through walls or something."

"Think of it kind of like an x-ray, only less powerful." The doctor said. "It is called an echo because it uses soundwaves to create an image we can view. Kind of like how bats and dolphins use echo location to see where they are going or find food without being able to see."

"Actually sir, she's not my wife. I care for her like she is my wife, and I think it would be great if we could tie the bow, but for now, she's just my marefriend." Jack continued on walking. "I see her as my wife, but I don't know how she sees me. Do she and I look like we're married?"

He places the tip that he put the clear goop on and begins moving around, which causes Charcoal to start giggling but she seemed to keep still. An image comes up on the screen. Ponies could almost never see anything on the screen of grey blurs, but he knew and he smiled.

Charcoal hugs Jack back. "I love you too Jackie, unworn tell me, what is that weird fishie sitting in this container." Charcoal asks as she taps the screen with a hoof. The doctor swipes away her hoof. "No, no touchy, this is expensive equipment we have here."

Jack laughed "Charcoal, that little fishy, is a baby foal. And that baby foal is in your tummy." Jack explained slowly while patting her somach "You are going to have a baby. And we're going to take care of it as parents." Jack wiped the tears but they kept on coming.

"You might want to wait until the drug is out of her system before telling her, bring her home and let her take a nap and she should be back to normal when she wakes up. Just explain what has happened since she won't remember." He smiles.

Except that something bad happens the same day. And that something better happens the next also with a bad part. I guess there are no such thing as a best day ever, but a good day."

The doctor ponders what Jack said. "I'm not sure, I'm a doctor not a genius." He said. "Well then take care you two, and I hope things go well between the two of you." He turns to leave but stops before he is fully out the door. "And don't forget what I told you before, just keep calm."
