Jack heard her about the time coming. "What do you mea- Oh! The baby foal!" Jack was about to freak out. 'Calm down. There should be a button for a nurse to come on the bedside table.' Jack decided to take his voice's advice. He jumped to the bedside table where he saw multiple buttons. Some had arrows which Jack could only guess meant it was for the bed. Then he saw one that had a pony on it. Frantically, Jack pushed it again and again before sitting beside Charcoal "Remember. Hee hee, hoo hoo. Breath mare breath!'

 

After a minute a nurse burst through the doors "Whaddaya want?" she saw Jack and Charcoal on a bed while Charcoal was grabbing her stomach. The nurse grabbed a radio that was on the wall and called for immediate assistance. Almost instantly, three other nurses came with a gurney. They moved Charcoal onto the gurney and started wheeling her down the halls.

Charcoal was put on a gurney and wheeled down the hallways at what felt like eighty-eight miles per hour. She had her eyes closes and her breathing was heavy. She reached her hoof out to the side, expecting to find Jack, but all she found was empty air as she was rushed to another room somewhere.

"Darn it! Not you." Jack looked at the doors that Charcoal was wheeled in "Fine. I'm sorry." the nurse let him pass. Jack entered the doors and saw Charcoal laying on a bed on her back. He ran to her side and sat next to her. "Sorry I wasn't here sooner."

Dr.Psych burst in the room "I'm a doctor!" he yelled before looking around.

"Oh geez. What are you doing here?" Jack yelled

"Well excuse me, young one. I thought I could be of some use."

Dr.Psych didn't take Jack's comment too well. "You look here, boy! I'm as much of a doctor as-"

"GO!" Jack yelled.

"Oh geez. What are you doing here?" Jack yelled

"Well excuse me, young one. I thought I could be of some use."

The doctor came running down the hallway. He didn't expect a pregnancy so soon but he was pretty sure he knew who was giving birth. He was coming up on the room he was supposed to go to. He tried to stop but he slid across the waxed floor right past the door. After getting his bearings he got to the room and ran in.

Once the doctor came in Jack said to him "Finally you came. I thought you'd never come. What took you so long?" Jack slightly shook his head "Never mind that. She's giving birth! The... the... BABY'S COMING!" Jack yelled as all the nurses stopped and looked at him "Sorry."

Charcoal did as she was told, glad to finally have an idea of what she was doing. She began pushing and it hurt so much every time. She began gripping Jacks hoof even harder as she continued to push.

"Please, I'm just doing my job, there is no need to thank me. Though I think your wife might want you around." The doctor said.

 

Charcoal was exhausted. She needed sleep, so that is what she did. With the foal still in her arms she fell asleep in the bed she was in.

"Good afternoon." Jack greeted in a whispered voice. "I assume you have slept well. It seems as though Lucky has done the same." Jack looked to the filly. "Isn't she cute? I can't wait to raise her as our own. I bet she'll be a fine young lady." suddenly a realization came to Jack "She's French. I never thought I'd have a daughter that was born in Paris." Jack's ears flopped back as an unamused look came over his face "Or any daughter at that. But it's always nice to prove past me wrong."

He tugged on the blanket a bit to see if the blanket was tightly wrapped around the filly. It seemed tight enough. So he gently pulled back the foal to let Charcoal stand up. Jack's never had been so careful with anything in his life.

"Me neither." Jack chuckled "Let's get out of here." Jack slowly moved his head to grab Lucky. He gripped the blanket that wrapped up the foal with his mouth. He tugged on the blanket a bit to see if the blanket was tightly wrapped around the filly. It seemed tight enough. So he gently pulled back the foal to let Charcoal stand up. Jack's never had been so careful with anything in his life.

Charcoal slowly got out of bed. She was a little wobbly but after a second she steadied herself. She saw how Jack was holding the foal and just had to correct him. She took the foal from him and held it in one of her arms so she still had three legs to walk with. "Here, this is how you carry the foal." Charcoal said. She began walking and hot to the door and when she got there she saw a foalcarrier on the floor. She got a closer look at it and saw her name on it. She smiled and picked it up and placed it on her back, though she still held the foal on her arm.

She didn't give it much thought but she saw it when she got to the hotel and ran into the door frame. She would have just walked through but she saw three or four doors.
