"Well, even though I did the spell early, I still wanted to give them some time to get used to it, before we leave on our quest to find Octavia, if you don't mind..." Melody stated as she regained her strength from using the spell multiple times. "Alright, how about we get our bags and stuff and meet back here." Melody said waiting for the others' answers.

Sweet Symphony stared, wide-eyed, at her new wings.

"W-w-wings?! But how~? That's amazing." 

She flapped the pastel blue wings. it felt kind of nice to have the air go through her new feathers. 

"Uh, so... do I just flap quickly or something?" she asked, turning to Melody and Quill.

"All you do is jump in the air and flap hard. Once your in the air, you can slow your flapping down. That's how I learned. In fact, I taught myself how to fly just by watching the birds do it." Melody stated. 

 

She then bent down and spread her wings. She then jumped and flapped her wings at the same time. She stayed in the air. "See, it's not that hard once you get it the first time." Melody said.

Quill nodded. "Yes, that's most of flying. Though some may find it hard to flap so fast." He certainly did. If only he'd thought of watching the birds fly instead of watching other flight students. "Well, I guess I'll go get my stuff. I'll probably come back in about 10 minutes, give or take a few." He flapped his wings and flew to his parent's house. That was where he was keeping his stuff.

Melody Breeze stayed back. She wanted to make sure that Symphony got used to her wings, and was able to fly properly. "I'll wait here until you get acquainted with those wings before I go get my stuff." Melody stated as he waited for Symphony to try out her new wings.

"Uh... alright... I suppose I shoould've thought of that..." Symphony admitted nervously.

"Okay..." 

The pastel blue mare did as Melody said, and was able to hover for a few seconds ,until she fell and landed on her flank. she stood up, brushed herself off, and tried again. She stayed for a few more seconds. It took a few more tries until she was able to stay in the air. She beamed when she did.
"I think I've got it."

"Alright."

Melody said as she built up magic and teleported to her house. She then gathered all of her necessities and flew back to Canterlot Square to give her magic a rest from the teleportation spell she just performed. 

 

She then waited for the others. Vinyl Scratch was also there waiting.

Quill landed gently and walked into his house. His parents' house, actually. They weren't home at the moment, too busy. He walked to a room and looked into his bag. Inside, there were a few bits, a book, a quill, some parchment, and finally a sandwich packed in a blue box. Sometimes he got hungry while on the train, and he packed the sandwich for that purpose.

 

He put a blanket in the bag, just in case he somehow needed it, and flew back to where he had been, carrying the backpack on his back.

"Alright, all we have left to wait for is Symphony. Then we'll head over to Los Pegasus and save Octavia and take down that evil rockstar." Melody stated as he waited for Symphony to come back. 

 

Vinyl Scratch was starting to get a little restless. "Oh, come on! Let's get this thing started..." He said. "Patience, Symphony will be back in a couple." Melody assured.

After getting completely  used to flying, Symphony had flown to her hotel and gone in. There had been confusion because of the new addition, so it took a while before she was allowed into her room and grabbed her things. After grabbing her stuff, she flew back to where the ponies were waiting for her. She landed softly, her hooves making a quiet - clack! - on the cobblestone.

"Sorry, everypony. There was an issue at the hotel I was staying at."

"Well then, let's get going." Melody stated as she flapped her wings and lifted into the air. Vinyl Scratch did that same. "Oh yeah! Tavi here I come!" He announced. Melody Breeze was a little uneasy about flying so far, but there was just something inside of her that kept her from showing it.

Quill flapped his wings and took off into the air. Trying to remember the map Melody had shown him, he flew slowly in one direction. He wasn't completely sure whether it was the right one, and he looked to the other ponies. He didn't really know if Vinyl Scratch was the leader or Melody Breeze was. It seemed that Vinyl would be; after all it was his girlfriend, but Melody seemed a little smarter. Not by much, but a little.

"I guess I'll take the lead." Melody Breeze stated as she stayed in front. 

 

Vinyl Scratch was right behind her, keeping a steady pace. "It should take about two days to get to Las Pegasus." Melody Breeze stated. "If we fly faster it won't." Vinyl Scratch stated speeding up. Melody sped up a little but making sure no one would be left behind.

Sweet Symphony took to the air again, following the others. She flew a bit behind melody, but was still close enough to hear her estimate.

"Two days? I'm kinda confused... Earlier, you said it would take two weeks." she said, flying up beside her and tilting her head in confusion.

"Oops, sorry." Melody stated. "I sometimes forget things." She added. 

 

"By tonight, we should be in the small town of Appleloosa. We'll rest there for the night, then continue tommorow." Melody explained. 

 

"Wait a sec. I know that town. That's the place where the buffalo roam and needed a place to graze and run." Vinyl Scratch stated.

Sweet nodded, still confused, but now her thouhts werre on Appleoosa

Didn't the ponies there come to an agreement with the buffalo or something after a big fight? That was quite a while ago, though. I wonder how it's doing now... Well, we'll see tonight. Focus, Sweet. 

"So, um, which is it? Two days? or weeks?"

"Weeks." 

 

"As for Appleloosa. The Buffalo and ponies are in firm agreement. There's now a road that cuts through Appleoosa and actually goes all the way through Derby Desert and into Saddle Arabia. But Saddle Arabia is east from where we're traveling. We'll be arriving in Appleloosa just in time for supper." Melody Breeze stated.

Quill flew just behind Melody and Vinyl to preserve his energy. Looking to the pastel-blue former Earth pony, he said, "You never told me your name." He thought that if this was really going to take two weeks, he might as well know who everypony was, rather than just following without knowing what the hay he was doing.

Sweet Symphony turned to the Pegasus stallion.

"Oh, sorry about that... I'm Sweet Symphony. My special talent is singing, and making ponies happy with it, if it matters to you at all." she didn't say this with any malice in her tone, she had just realized in the middle of talking that he might not cae and had continued to ramble and say her thoughts. She blushed slightly.

Quill nodded. It did matter a little, though the talent thing was kinda obvious due to her cutie mark. A heart and a music note. Come to think of it, he seemed to be the only one who didn't have a talent relating to music. Vinyl Scratch had a musical talent and so did Melody Breeze. "My name's Quill Poem." He stuck out his hoof for her to shake.

Symphony smiled, and stuck out a hoof to shake his, but it threw her off balance and she started to plummet. She quickly righted herself, with the help of a cloud, and flew up beside them again, blushing from her mishap.

"Uhh... Sorry, I guess I'm not really used to this whole flying thing yet. Anyway, nice to meet you , despite the circumstances. I'll, uh, shake your hoof when we land..." she grinned apologetically.

"Okay." Quill's hoof reached his side again. He was a little surprised that Symphony was flying so well - although she wasn't an expert, she could still fly after a few tries, and he couldn't even lift himself up at that time. But maybe the situation caused her to be good at flying. Some ponies only started to fly in emergencies, and perhaps Symphony didn't want... What was the name again? Octave? No, Octavia. Maybe she didn't want Octavia to go to jail, and that could fuel her.

Time past and as they were flying, Melody suddenly made out Appleoosa. "Look. There's Appleloosa. That's where we'll rest for the night." Melody Breeze stated as she began to descend. 

 

Down on Appleoosa, Braeburn was just chatting with some buffalo who were just passing by.

Symphony took a deep breath and began her descent - while she had learned taking off decently enough, she was still having some issues with landing and the descent. Still, she landed safely... somewhat. When she had gotten close enough to the ground to land, she had frozen up and continued to fly - straight into a bale of hay.

"I almost wish the voices were present so i could blame it on them," she muttered to herself as she eased herself out of the hay. She looked up at the others.  "...Not that they would believe me anyway..."

"You okay?" Vinyl Scratch asked as he landed on the dusty ground.

 

Melody Breeze began to walk towards the enterance gate to Appleloosa. As she was walking she noticed Applejack chatting with Braeburn and some buffalo.

 

"Um, hi, you must be Braeburn." Melody stated. "Why most certainly! Welcome to Appleloosa!" Braeburn said excitedly.
