Wardaddy 470 August 28, 2013 Share August 28, 2013 Hi everypony! Well, its up there in the title. I might be off to Disneyland Paris for the first time in my whole life next March, and its needless to say I'm looking forward to this. However, considering I'm 18 years old, and Disneyland is largely for the young 'uns, I need some advice. What I can and can't ride, if I should shop for souvenirs, what characters I should meet and the like. Just general advice on what hopefully might be my first ever visit to Disneyland Paris. Also, should I meet Rapunzel and Flynn Rider? Come on, be honest with me. (Side note): Originally, I was supposed to have gone years earlier, however things happened that caused the plans to deteriorate, and as a result, the time in which I should've gone had long since elapsed. I am now 18, and I have developed a more cynical outlook on the lines of magic, Disney magic in particular, as well as abandoning all hope of going there before now. While this visit won't be as special as it should've been, it will still mean something to me, as I will be going to a place where smiles, laughter and joy is commonplace, magic is thriving and above all else, it will be the first time I enter a place where my inner child can finally go free, meeting the characters of my childhood Disney movies, as well as living the dream that I nearly let go of since the few past years that came and went. So please, try not to spoil the mood. "Ideals are peaceful.........history is violent" Sgt. Mightymags 1,053 August 28, 2013 Share August 28, 2013 Don't be afraid to be a child there. I'm 18 and I want to go back to Disneyland soooooo bad! I was there last when I was almost 17 on a band trip and it was so much fun! I got asked out while watching the wonderful world of color, it was romantic, not childish. Disneyland is for everyone, not just kids. Sure there will be things there that are more oriented towards kids, but don't be embarrassed to do them if you want to. I have a friend that just went there with her parents as a graduation present. One thing I would suggest, don't waste time meeting the characters. I did that when I went when I was little and it was fun to collect their signatures, but it really wasn't worth all the waiting in lines to meet a person in a costume. I'm glad I spent more time going on rides last time instead of meeting characters. But if there's one you have your heart set on meeting, then go for it! It's all about what you want. Most things in the park are pure magic, especially the details that Disney puts into everything, but personally I didn't find the characters all that "magical". Unless you can watch a parade with the characters, that's a better experience in my opinion. As for souvenirs, you'll probably be overwhelmed with choices of things to get! But everything there is expensive, so it's better to spend most of your money on one thing that you really want than a bunch of small things you'll forget about in a few months. Everything there you said, it was in mind. I just needed a rain check, make sure I had everything in order. Disneyland is everything we hear about it and expect it to be. There's everything for the young and old, so I am aware. As for characters meets, there's not a lot I want to see, other than Jack Sparrow and a few other famous faces (Mickey included). I'm not totally set on meeting characters. I am also a rollercoaster freak, and it'll be interesting to see how their rides match up to the ones I've already ridden (Rock 'N' Roller Coaster and Space Mountain especially. I've heard some pretty good stuff on them). As for souvies, what I've currently got on my list is Mickey Mouse gloves, an autograph book (for use in both the park and in the future) and anything else that may come to mind. But hey, thanks for the advice. I'm on top of it. 1 "Ideals are peaceful.........history is violent" Sgt. Skycoaster 698 September 5, 2013 Share September 5, 2013 Phantom Manor is an amazing dark ride. It was the first of Disney's Haunted Mansion to use a different story than the ones in California, Florida, and Japan. Tower of Terror in the other part of the resort is a must ride. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/lKHU847czHY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Equestrian Empire Cast RP Character: Princess Luna
