Shift 4,272 September 2, 2013 Share September 2, 2013 (edited) Okay, so once your character gets accepted, you can't edit it anymore, right? Well, when you notice mistakes, you need to redo it all over again and put it back in the unapproved section...just to edit a spelling error that could take weeks to get accepted. So I would like the ability to edit you accepted characters, however you can only do it 2-3 times in a month, then you can't edit it until the month is over. It would work like the name change system, instead...roleplay. And for cast characters, if Rarity, say, becomes an Alicorn, wouldn't I need to edit her app? Tl;dr: Can we pretty pwease get the ability to edit our accepted oc's/cast characters? Edited September 2, 2013 by Shifting Gears 2 Have the courage to think and act on your own. Princess Periwinkle 3,775 September 2, 2013 Share September 2, 2013 The problem with allowing users to edit their approved characters is that every time an edit was made, the character would have to be reviewed all over again. If you just want to edit a spelling error, you can always just ask a EQW mod to do if for you and they'll be more than happy to fix it.
Ice Storm 1,020 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 The problem with allowing users to edit their approved characters is that every time an edit was made, the character would have to be reviewed all over again. If you just want to edit a spelling error, you can always just ask a EQW mod to do if for you and they'll be more than happy to fix it. The main reason we don't allow users to edit their approved characters is in the off chance that someone could just do something one way to get an application to pass, then change it once it's in the approved section. There actually a more technical reason as well. Users cannot create records in any of the approved sections, and the approved sections are specifically formatted to where only Equestrian World staff can create records in them. The reason for this is because of the fact that when you edit one of the records in the database. It recreates it as a new version of that record instead of actually editing the old one. This way people can't accidentally post their characters in the wrong section. That being said, if your just fixing grammatical stuff, you can fix it on an external word processing software like word, notepad, or the like, and send it to me or any of the other Equestrian Empire Staff. We'll be more than happy to fix it for you without having to go through a reapproval process. 1 Princess Luna is best pony Avid Twilicorn Supporter

Ice Storm 1,020 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 Also, figured it would be better to add the fact that the reason EQE staff can create records there is because that's how we have to move the records to the approved section. We have to literally edit the record and select the appropriate dropdown at the top. Princess Luna is best pony Avid Twilicorn Supporter
