((Hey, guys. Sorry it's taken me so long to get back. That was one helluva hangover.))

Blazing noticed the rose change, but decided not to comment on it. "I'm Blazing Hoof, but a lot of ponies call me Blaze." He said. At first he didn't like getting called "Blaze", but after getting called it enough he finally just started to call himself that.

Eve dipped her head quietly, and murmured, "Well, it's nice to meet you, Blaze."

Ceres broke through the trees and brush, having lost Monkshood at some point in returning to camp.  Immediately in front of her were two ponies, an orange unicorn stallion and a pale yellow unicorn mare.  Ceres had seen the orange stallion off on his own at the campsite, but the mare was new.  Ceres mentally sighed and resigned to the fact that at some point, meeting them would be inevitable.  Ceres approached the pair, smiling and introduced herself.  

 

"Hello there, I've seen you around before," she said, indicating the stallion.  "But I haven't seen you."

 

Ceres nodded to the mare as she continued, "I'm Ceres.  What brings you out here?"

Eve slowly turned her head to look at Ceres. Her eyes briefly flitted over the mare, then returned to meet her eyes. "I'm Evergreen. I'm here for the camp thing. Couldn't help being late, really." She looked around slightly uncomfortably, as if she wasn't sure what she was supposed to do now. "Is there somepony I should talk to or something?"

Eve slowly turned her head to look at Ceres. Her eyes briefly flitted over the mare, then returned to meet her eyes. "I'm Evergreen. I'm here for the camp thing. Couldn't help being late, really." She looked around slightly uncomfortably, as if she wasn't sure what she was supposed to do now. "Is there somepony I should talk to or something?"

"You probably should've checked in before we got here, but since you're late... I'm not entirely sure..."  Blaze said. He wanted to help Evergreen, but he didn't really know what to do either, so he couldn't. "I'm sorry I can't help..." He added quietly.

Eve shrugged, looking unconcerned. "It's no problem," she said. "Don't worry about it. There's surely somepony around who knows what to do." She glanced around again, her ears twitching as the surrounding foliage rustled. She looked back to Blaze a moment later. "Who else is here?"

Ceres put a hoof around Evergreen's shoulders, smiling widely as she looked her in the eyes.  "Nice to meet you Evergreen!  I don't think that anypony will care if you just drop your stuff off into the mare's cabin though.  The supervision here is really minimal.  I've seen maybe three staff members the entire time I've been here and it wasn't for very long."

"you can hang back with Pelate if you want, I'm not gonna make you change ya mind"

he trotted towards the campground center, but stopped in his tracks to turn to see Wish's decision

Wish really did want to go see the fire: it would be even better if she got chance to see it being made: that was something she needed to learn. At the same time though... well it would be the second time she abandoned Pelate: and he was the first friend she had made here!

"Do you want to come Pelate?" She asked, looking back and forth between the two hopefully as she took a few steps towards Parso. "I really want to see this."

Pelate perked up at Wishs offer and he responds "alright I'll go with you" Pelate says with a shrug

He didn't know if it was happening yet, but he knew they truer every pony at 8 "I think by now that's be setting it up or something" Pelate presumed about the camp fire. "Guess well just find out when we get there..." He shrugs.

Eve took half a hasty step backward, as if she was trying to duck out from under Ceres's friendly hoof. She sighed, and looking uncomfortable, decided to accept the friendly gesture, however. "Okay," she murmured. "I didn't honestly bring very much... Which one's the mare's cabin?"

"Just follow me."  Ceres grinned and winked at her.  Ceres released Evergreen from her side-hug and trotted through the camp, eventually ending at the cabins.  Ceres looked around a bit in confusion, her brow creasing.  For some reason they had changed the cabins around.  Ceres walked from cabin to cabin, looking at the signs, and was relieved to see that the cabin that held her and Wish's stuff was still the mares cabin.  Smiling, she turned around and said, "Here it is!  C'mon inside!"

 

Ceres made her way inside and smiled, "I'm on the closest bed and Wish is on the farthest bed.  Which means that you get the middle!"

Ceres was beaming happily, her eyes shining brightly.  'Oh this should definitely be fun.  Yes, I can see the shenanigans I will play now...'

"Well, there's always that forest..." He said to himself, turning and looking at the forest behind him.

Eve turned to follow Ceres, looking serene, although the flower on her ear was closed tight and quivering slightly. "I'll see you around," she murmured to Blaze, almost as if she were reassuring herself just as much as she was him, before turning to trot gracefully after Ceres.

Eve followed Ceres into the cabin, and looked about at the inside of it with slight disdain alighting her eyes. "I see," she said quietly. "The middle bed. Wonderful." The sarcasm was subtle. 

 

She sat on the bed, as if just testing its softness and/or scratchiness and blah blah blah. With a sigh, she stood back up, leaving a smudge of dirt on the covers, and pulled a few personal items out of her satchel, placing them on the bed in front of her. A comb (which was probably never used, judging by the unruliness of her mane), a small, whittled flute, and a bag of seeds. The rest of everything she kept in her satchel, which still appeared rather full. 

 

She looked back at Ceres. "You've got dirt all down your side." And it was true, some of Eve's healthy coat of earth had rubbed off on the other mare when she had hugged her.

"Huh?"  Ceres looked down at her side, finding the dirt that had latched itself onto her coat.  Ceres shrugged, looking back over at Evergreen.  "Eh, it'll wash out."

Eve shrugged, and the flower behind her ear opened wide, it's fragrance suddenly wafting about the cabin. "He said his name was Blaze," she said softly, a small, shy smile dancing about her face, although it disappeared quickly. "Blazing Hoof, I think, actually. He's... Kinda withdrawn, isn't he?" She shrugged, looking inattentively at the things she'd put on her bed, then turned to trot back outside. She flicked her tail, as if inviting Ceres to walk along with her.

Blazing wasn't sure what to do anymore. He wanted to believe that he was going to see Evergreen again, but at the same time he never had that good of luck, especially when it came to mares. "I suppose I should just remember what Frost told us... You can't just run from your problems... You have to stay and face them." He said quietly to himself once the other two ponies were gone.

"Great! Lets hurry then! I want to see them light it: can't learn something like that from a book!"

 

It dawned on Wish that building a campfire was probably a skill that could quite easily by learned from a book - but that wasn't the point. She smiled to herself as she pulled her two friends along in the direction that Patso had been starting to head.

 

'Its a shame Ceres isn't here too! But, huh. She doesn't seem to get along with Pelate. That's a shame: I hope they work it out between them: I don't want to have to go back and forth between them all the time.' She thought absently.

he said enthusiastically as he trotted along side his friends to the campground center to see that they were just starting to place the wood and start the kindling

"Excellent!" She said happily before blushing and feeling her ears droop slightly. "Sorry, I... I probably sound like a little filly don't I? I just like learning this kind of stuff and well, I never really had a chance back home."

 

Grinning awkwardly, she shrugged and quickly looked away from the stallion and back at the soon-to-be fire.

"aaah, s'alright, luv. whats the point of a camping trip if ya can't learn a couple tricks?"

Parso reassured Wish that it was alright as they sat and watched the campfire be set up and lit to begin the small fire in the center of the campgrounds. he could already feel some of the warmth from the fire

'Did she just... flick her tail at me?'   Ceres stared at Evergreen as she walked out the door.  'Wow... She's a lot more forward than I thought... I didn't know she liked me like that.'  Ceres grinned wickedly as she trotted up next to the mare, brushing off the dirt on her way.  As she caught up to Evergreen, she gave her a small return flick of her tail to see what her reaction would be.  She grinned at Evergreen, a mischievous spark in her eyes.  'And the game begins...'

 

"I'd agree with you.  I've only seen him on the outskirts and he didn't even acknowledge me..."  Ceres frowned as she thought of that.  "It seems that a lot of stallions have yet to learn any decent manners these days.  What are you planning on doing now?  I know you just got here, but do you have any plans?"

Pelate trots towards a circle of wooden benches and another circle of rocks in the middle with a stack of wood lying next to it, the staff ponies were just setting up "looks like we're here on time" he says letting out a breath and he sits with the two ponies "the staff will call every pony here at 8 which is when the fire is fully finished" he said as the small fire began bouncing around in the small stack of logs twigs and grass that was centered in the fire pit.

Eve seemed single-mindedly focused on where she was going, her ears flicking as she listened for things only she could hear. She did not notice Ceres' flirting. (She totally misread that, by the way.) 

 

She seemed a little distracted, by that something she was hearing, but responded to Ceres anyway. "I... Don't know," she admitted. "I was just gonna walk this way." She turned to walk off into the woods. "Whispers of fire... But that can't be right?" She said, more to herself than to Ceres. "Well, it's apparently not far, so may as well look..."

Ceres perked her ears at Evergreens whispers.  It was obvious that she was talking to herself, but Ceres listened anyways.  'A fire?  No one told me about this...'  Her curiosity got the better of her.

"Oh?  Sounds interesting."  Ceres nodded to herself.  "Mind if I tag along?"

"Oh." Eve looked around, like she'd momentarily forgotten Ceres was there, in her preoccupation. "Sure." She turned and walked along one of the paths leading away from the cabins, her ears flicking occasionally. She walked quietly, and sure enough, Eve eventually began to hear other ponies chatting merrily in addition to the whispers of the forest.

Eve stopped abruptly at the edge of the clearing, still mostly concealed in the shadows of the trees. There was indeed a small fire crackling merrily in the center of the clearing, which reflected eerily in her cerise eyes. She noticed that staffponies were throwing more wood on the fire, and that there was a small group of ponies gathered casually next to it, chatting. 

The crystalline rose she wore had closed, timidly, as she stared apprehensively at the dancing flames from in the shadows of the trees behind them.

Wish just nodded and smiled, glad that her new friends didn't think that she was odd for being so excited for something so trivial. It had been hard to learn any 'survival' skills on the farm though: this was a golden opportunity that she wasn't going to miss.

A faint sound caught Wish's attention: it probably wouldn't have had she not been focusing so intently. Looking about, she caught sight of another mare - probably not a staff member judging by her looks but she hadn't been on the bus either.
 
"Oh, hey!" She called out, breaking her attention away from the fire-pit to wave over to the new pony.

Eve continued to stare at the fire for a solid five seconds after that pony had called to her. She looked hesitantly towards the mare, before stepping out of the shadows, although being careful to maintain a distance from the fire. She stayed across the fire from those ponies, and looked at them through it. The dirt that mottled her coat and mane was sharply obvious in the flickering light of the flames. "H-hi," she said, in a tiny squeak of a voice. There were a lot of ponies here, between herself and Ceres, the three over there and the ones loading the fire higher with logs.
