Hello, I wanted to try something similar to a role play, but the roleplay section has an 800 minimum post length and that wont work for what I want.

It will be similar to a text based game except you aren't bound by an exact set of options because I can react to everything.

Similar to an MMO there will be no "end" and no "goal" except for the on you put forth as your own goal.

Setting:

The story takes place in Equestria, although you won't be seeing much more than the Everfree forest in terms of location. It also takes place about three centuries after the show.

Story:

There isn't much of one yet, but once people start playing and exploring the Everfree forest, one will develop. I will give a hint though, it is related to the creation of a god.

Rules:

There aren't many rules. I will keep track of each players progress. If it's something that is out of bounds then I will tell you, but for the most part there will be very little that is out of bounds. You start the game like an MMO character. You have no preexisting talents or skills. You have a past, but you cannot recall it because the Everfree forest clouds your memory. There will be "levels" that will be improved based on use. The amount of exp you get per task is not linear and is decided by me at the end of the event. Feel free to use your imagination.

To join the game simply follow this form:

Some final notes:

This game will be grim and dark. If you can't handle that then don't join. There could potentially be mature content.

Race: Unicorn

Sounds like a great concept. But I do have one question. Do we just jump right in right now or do we wait for an official start to this thing? And also are you the one creating the tasks and events or are we as we go along?

Anyone can start whenever. It's not really a roleplay, more of a game with roleplay elements. I will be setting up some events, but a lot of the events will be dependent on what you decide to do and how you react to your surrounding.

1 more player and I'll start, but people can join in whenever they want once we do start.

@, You notice your flying buddy ahead of you begin to wobble. You fly closer, but just as you were about ask if he was alright, he smacks into some invisible object and beings to fall to the earth. You race after him, but you are unable to catch him in time. You land next to him and suddenly realize that you have no idea what is going on, who you are, or where you were going. You look around and notice that you were lucky enough to land in a clearing surrounded by dense forest. The forest is so densely packed that you can only barely spot some sort of structure beyond some trees. What do you do?

@@super2379, As you were flying along you are suddenly struct with a sudden flash of nausea and vertigo. Disoriented and distracted, you avert your attention from your flight path and smack into some unknown object. Your right wing buckles from the impact emanating a sharp crack. A bolt of pain shoots down your wing as you let out a cry of pain. You briefly blackout causing you to plummet towards the earth. When you recover you check to see what else was injured in your fall. Luckily it was just your right wing, but you won't be flying anytime soon. Lightheaded from your recent events your briefly take in your surroundings. You appear to be in a rare patch of grass that is not covered by the dense Everfree forest canopy. You also draw a blank on where you were going or who you are. What do you do?

Moonlit Forge and Light Streak are not in the same party.

@@Super Derpy, You awake in a small valley between two towering, snow capped, mountains. You guess that you must be somewhere in the Unicorn Range. Oddly enough you do not know how you came to be here or who you even are.  You adjust your positioning as you notice one of your hoofs begin to sink into the muddy ground. Upon further examination you notice that pools of reddish-orange begin to form at your hoofs and in the crevices of the rocks around you. It has an oily appearance on the surface and emanates an a musty smell. What do you do?

@@super2379, As you begin to gain your composure again, you begin to better take in the details of your surroundings. You also begin to notice the sounds of the forest as everything begins to calm down. You hear the odd calls of undiscovered creatures. You look closely around where you are sitting and notice a section of earth that is particularly warn. Probably an animal trail, you conclude. It extends past the initial row of trees and disappears into the distance. Where you sit seems serene, not a quality usually associated with the Everfree. The sun is right above you indicating it's about noon. You notice your partner, Moonlit Forge, by your side looking off into the distance taking in your location. As much as you struggle and concentrate, you cannot recall much more than your name and the name of the pony you are with, who you also believe to be your friend, but you're not sure. What do you do?

@@Super Derpy, You slowly lift your hooves and slosh towards a patch of dry stones. Your hooves begin to tingle where the liquid soaked through to your skin. As you look behind you, you see a group of yellow-tinted rabbits begin to emerge from their burrow. Odd... there shouldn't be any rabbits in the Unicorn Mountain Range, you wonder. It is about noon as you conclude from a quick glance at the sky. You smell smoke, perhaps a fire breathing animal? No. It smells more like a campfire than the coppery smell fire breathing animals usually produce. Is somebody around, you wonder? A sudden sound of falling rocks causes you to swing around to notice that you are about 4 feet away from a cliff. What do you do?

@@Narf, Wait... Where are you? How did you get here? Why are you here? These are the questions you begin to ask yourself while pacing in circles around a patch of stone. You see some towering mountains behind you, but grass in front of you. There are several large boulders around you and a giant wall of stone. It would see you are at the bottom of a cliff. You see some green smoke in the distance, away from the cliff.  What do you do?

@@super2379, You beckon for your partner to follow you, but he seems to have something else on his mind. You shrug and assume he knows what hes doing. You aren't even sure if you were friends or not. Nothing seems to be certain right now. As you are following the tracks you do not notice a shadow creep from behind you. In the blink of an eye, something jumps out of the shadows striking you on the back inflicting a minor wound! It would appear that a malicious Pixie has found you! It laughs in a mocking high pitched voice. It's wings beat so fast that they look almost still. The Pixie appears to be oozing a black, cloudy substances that gently floats to the ground before dissipating. What do you do?

Monster Manual:
"Pixies are not usually particularly strong, however they often travel in packs. If you manage to
slay a Pixie, you are often greeted with great rewards as they are known to steal from any and all
things."

"Pixies are very quick and agile creatures making it difficult, but not impossible for you to run or out maneuver them. They are sly, but not very bright. A simple bait of any kind is usually enough
for somepony to escape a Pixie. Since they are quick, you will have trouble hitting them, but if you manage to strike a Pixie then they will likely flee or die for they are very fragile. The typical
Pixie is either purple or green and produces sparks when they flap their wings. As always, be
careful of deviant species of any creature as their behavior is unknown."

You have left your party with Moonlit Forge.

You are now in combat with a Pixie.

@@Super Derpy, You follow the smell of the fire to it's location a few yards away. It would appear to not be a campfire, but rather a burning corpse. You can see further columns of smoke in the distance, probably similar burning bodies. You can tell that it has been awhile since the, what appears to be a unicorn, body died. The entire body is covered in extreme third degree burns. The bones are showing in some places. Orangish-yellow foam bubbles around its orifices indicating that the internal organs are long gone. There is a saddle bag that appears to be relativly unharmed, minus some minor burn marks on the leather. There is clearly something in the bag. What do you do?

You have left your party with Light Streak.

@, You walk towards the structure, passing by some remarkably overgrown trees. You emerge into another clearing, this time it appears to be quite a it bigger. What you had thought was a structure was, in fact, not a structure, but rather a simple wall. A bit odd and out of place. The wall appears to be about 16 feet tall and stretches down a good 70 feet. You think you can see some sort of object on the top of the wall. What do you do?

@@super2379, You grasp for something to fight with, but only find a stone. You grip it between your hooves and lunge at the Pixie. It sees you coming and darts out of the way. You land on the other side of the Pixie under the shade of a tree. As it's feet touch the light it lets out a hiss and moves back into the shadow. Irritated, black smoke begins to form around the Pixie. Once the smoke dissipates, you notice the Pixie has disappeared. You gain experience for causing the Pixie to flee. You place the rock back on the ground. You only now begin to feel the pain of your wounds as the adrenaline begins to wear off. What do you do?

You have gained experience! (+5)

@@super2379, You follow the tracks till you wind up in a nearby encloser. Large boulders form a line for several feet. They are spaced evenly. Clearly unnaturally placed. As you draw closer to whatever is on the other end of line of boulders, you suddenly begin to feel nauseous. You hear voices in your head. They are a mixture of low screams for help and luring calls to push forward. There is something unsettling about where you are. Something is not right. It's not directly obvious, but you can see it. In the corner of your eye you can see the trees and grass change shape, color and size. As soon as you attempt to focus on them, they revert to normal. It is almost evening and the Everfree is quite dangerous in the dark. What do you do?

@@Narf, As you approach the patch of grass in front of you find a black tower surrounded by a circle of gravel. It emits a green smoke into the air. Oddly enough, however, you cannot seem to focus on the structure. It squirms and shifts evading your ability to focus on it. It is as if it is standing between two dimensions. It is almost evening and you do not want to be caught out at night. Nothing good happens in the dark. What do you do?
