The young colt had taken notice of Psych reading. He still wanted to make conversation with her but he was a little hesitant at first. After a few moments had passed, the unicorn worked up the courage to start another conversation.

 

"W-what are you reading?" He asked Psych in a curious tone.

Psych Ward looked up from her book quickly, a bit startled.  Her eyes were wide as she said, "Oh, um, I don't know," she fumbled.  She quickly turned to the title page of the book.  She hadn't bothered with the title of the book, liking the description well enough to stack it on her back.  "It's called Inkheart," she said before turning back to the page she was on.  She didn't look back down at the words though.

"Heh, well I think I'm going to check out what's around here, you coming?"

 

So Hoop was a little on the quiet side: it was a nice change of pace from hanging out with Cinder: at least he wasn't likely to blow up their dorm. And didn't seem as likely to get annoyed with him as Symphony was.

"Useless, useless, useless..." Symphony muttered to herself as she looked at the various signs directing her around campus: ideally there would be one that said 'quiet place suitable for keeping a low profile' but that clearly wasn't going to happen...

 

Although 'Library' was pretty close, she thought, slipping inside to get an idea of how useful it might be.

(I'm sooooo sorry, I thought it was your turn!)

"Sure, why not?" Blazing said. He had nothing better to do, so he might as well see what else there was around the place. That and he had more time to get to know his roommate. This is gonna be fun... I at least have someone who can make me laugh sometimes. He thought.

"Oh well ummm what's it about? If you don't mind me asking," He asked in a timid voice. This was actually the first time that the young colt was able to maintain a conversation this long. Normally, he was either bullied or made fun of which caused him to isolate himself, but not with these two. They seemed quite genuine.

Psych Ward's eyes lit up.  "It's really neat," she said, her voice much brighter and energetic than before.  "It's about this father and his filly who can read things in and out of books."  She marked her page and shut the book, a quick little movement she didn't find herself doing often.

Back Track nearly jumped back in surprise after the change of tone in Psych's voice. He wasn't expecting a reaction like that from her but at least he knew something.

 

"So I take it that you enjoy reading?" He asked the mare though it was a stupid question to ask. The young colt wanted to face hoof himself for asking such question.

Psych Ward nodded eagerly.  "It's like an escape, you know," she said.  "From all the ups and downs in life."  She suddenly frowned.  She was certain no pony wanted her hear her philosophies that made no sense even to her sometimes.  She kept her mouth shut after the second sentence.

"I-I know what you mean," He responded back to Psych in a sympathetic tone. The unicorn thought back to his days in school and most of them weren't really good.

 

"I ummm I used to spend a lot of time in the computer labs or in my room working on my own workstation. I don't know why, but I usually feel better when i'm by myself and working. No pony around to judge you." He stated before realizing what he had said. His face turned a little red.

"Great, c'mon then, lets see what we can find. Something to eat, preferably."

 

He started to make his way down the hall, casually waving a hoof for for the other unicorn to follow him.

 

"Could do with finding my friend, making sure she's not getting into bother already." He considered aloud.

Psych Ward nodded slowly, a small smile growing on her face.   "I'm hoping this year won't be as stressful though," she added.  "Maybe a little less hiding in my room would be good."  She was constantly messing with her sweater sleeves as she spoke, a horrible habit she had that caused the sleeves to become worn in just a few days.

Blazing just followed Scribe. "Sounds like a good idea." He said. "And on a somewhat unrelated note, what do you mean by not getting into bother?" He asked. He didn't really understand "getting into bother", seeing as he had never heard anypony say it before.

"I see, well getting out every now and then isn't so bad. It just depends on the company you're with. I didn't really fit in at school, so I want to improve upon that this year and" He said before being interrupted by a large growl coming from his stomach.

 

"Uhhh sorry about that, It seems I'm a little hungry heh," ​He smiled but a little embarrassed.

pelate also had that feeling, he does things to escape from the ups and downs of life, but his ethos was more severe and violent, he didnt want to tell them until he got to know them more. he stayed silent, a bit of concern in his eyes. *just stay quiet pelate!* he thought.

Cuppie had been wondering through the school for hours not really looking for anything but she knew she was lost so she looked to her leftand stepped through it finding herself in what she thought might be thw school library and smiled thinking that she had not been to this part of the school before and that she might just enjoy herself. Noticing that she was just standing in the doorway with a huge grin on her face she moved over to a random sheft and pretended to look at the books, maybe there was a school map in here she had already recieved a map but had lost it long ago.

Symphony noticed the mare head into the Library as she lurked around the entrance and was about to do so herself when a familiar voice caught her ear. Glancing around, she saw Scribe talking to... somepony.

 

'So the fool is out making friends already. Typical. I though he wanted to come here to study, not socialise...' She thought as she made to hide out of sight in the library.

 

"Huh, you'll get used to it." Scribe smirked at blazing's response. Before getting distracted by a sparkle of light on an aqua coat in the crowd. "Oh, there she is! Symph! Over here!"

 

Rolling her eyes, the crystal pegasus slipped through the pack of ponies with a forced half-smile.

 

"What, I can't get a few minutes to myself?" She muttered, glancing back and forth between the two unicorns before deciding to speak to the one she didn't know. "I hope you're not paying too much attention to this idiot." She smirked, waving a hoof towards Scribe.

"Yeah, this is Blazing Hoof. Hoop, this is my friend Wind Symphony..." He glanced around with a smirk. "... who I never suspected would be big on reading..."

 

"I didn't even know that you could read..." The mare muttered in response. "I was just going to scope out the place: you two coming?"

 

"Well, we..."

 

"I wasn't asking you, I was asking the one who looks like he might actually use a library... Blazing Hoof was it?" she asked, directing her attention back at the other unicorn.

"Me? Go to a library? That's funny!" Blazing said jokingly. "But seriously, I don't read that much." He said, returning to at least some seriousness. "I was just gonna go where he goes, so... Yeah." He added, pointing at Scribe. Strange, he was incredibly social around two ponies he didn't know at all.

Psych laughed softly.  "Then we should probably find the food here," she said.  She needed to take her pills anyways and they always went down better with a meal.  "Can I just drop my books off at my dorm?"  She was already getting up and stacking the books on her back.

"Uhhh y-yeah sure, do you want to meet up at the cafeteria or would you want me to come along?" He asked before turning a bright shade of red.

 

"Er w-what I mean is that if you need help navigating from your dorm to the cafeteria. heh," He said trying not to make it seem awkward which seemed to be failing for the young colt.

Psych Ward smiled, laughing softly.  "I don't think I know the way," she said after a few seconds.  "I would greatly appreciate the help."  She could tell the pony wasn't feeling to comfortable and she didn't want to push.  She just didn't think she would make it to the cafeteria by herself.

Cupppie had read and re-read the spins of each book on the same shelf for what seemed like forever when she was just about to go sit down to read a stack that she had picked out when she turned and ran into somepony else.

She scrambled trying to pick up all the books that had flown everywhere, hurriedly pilling them up together.
