"Well I guess in a way, we're kinda both earth ponies." Blazing said. We are the same type of pony in a way... Maybe we... He stopped himself there, not wanting to finish. "I may have a horn, but I still have the exact same abilities earth ponies have." He added. As weird as it is, I am like the only earth pony in my family... He thought.

 

"My sister must've felt so awkward being the only pegasus in our family after our dad left. She had to live on land with the rest of us in an earth pony filled town." She said, kindly remembering her older sister. "She never really showed it, she was strong like that." Pixie hugged her pillow tightly. "I haven't seen her for so long."

It was completely awkward, and he couldn't stop blushing, but it was just one of those times where he just needed a hug.

Pixie stopped breathing for a bit in shock. She blushed furiously as he hugged her, but waited a moment before hugging him back. The earth pony patted his back. "Hey.... It's okay." She mumbled, her voice wavering. Her face and ears felt like they were on fire.

Blazing wanted to make things a lot less awkward by ending the hug, but he couldn't. This is so awkward, but at the same time... I just... What's wrong with me?! He wondered. Normally he didn't like it, but at that point he just needed a hug from a friend for some reason, and he wasn't going to let it end anytime soon.

"Um." Pixie said, barely above a whisper. "Can I go now?" She asked awkwardly, trying to pull away without him noticing. The earth pony enjoyed the hug, but really didn't want Blazing to find out. 'Oh dear, this is very embarrassing." She thought, her face still burning.

She sat in silence for a good amount of time, going over what had just happened in her head. It was very random, and she was far from expecting it. Pixie coughed a bit to lighten the mood but all it did was make the room more quiet than before. The silence was deafening. "Uh... so, feeling better?" Pixie muttered.

He still hated himself for making things so awkward, and possibly ruining one of the best friendships he ever had. Why? Why do all the bad things always happen to me? I never did anything wrong did I? He wondered.

"Okay..." Pixie said. She was very disappointed, and showed it too. The earth pony mare looked downwards and played with her hooves. "Well, I had a long day, I'm going to go find somewhere to sleep." She said, getting up off of the bed. She picked up her saddlebag she had placed by the door. "Well, I'll see you tomorrow, Goodnight."

"I mean, I don't have a roommate, and you don't have a dorm, so it kind of works out right?" He asked. The only problem was he didn't want to make Pixie feel any more awkward. I would feel way too bad just making her leave, it's much better this way, even if it is awkward... He thought.

I would feel way too bad just making her leave, it's much better this way, even if it is awkward... He thought.

 

"Well, I don't really have much of a choice. I don't wanna get thrown out of college for sleeping in the lounge." She joked, trying to lighten the mood a bit. "So I can sleep here? You won't mind me?" She questioned, dropping her saddlebag onto the floor and walking up to the extra bed.

"Of course I won't mind. I'm pretty sure I've said this before, but I'm always happy to help a friend." Blazing said happily. He was feeling a little bit better at least. And besides, it's much better than having her get kicked out or something. He thought. He would've felt bad if his only friend got kicked out for a stupid reason.

"Alrighty." She said, plopping onto the bed. "This bed is really comfy. At least more comfortable than a couch." The earth pony got underneath the blankets and crawled out on the other side. "I do snore, just so you know." She said, fluffing up a pillow. "So be warned."

"That's not so bad, I'm fine with it." Blazing said. It was going to be difficult to sleep, seeing as he had just slept for... How long had he slept for? He had completely lost track of how long he was asleep. Meh, maybe I'll just figure that out later then. He thought.

"Well I hope so, my older sister said I sound like a train." She giggled, closing her eyes. "I'm exhausted. You aren't exactly lightweight. Plus that bag over there feels like it is full of bricks." Pixie sighed, feeling much calmer now than she had the entire day.

Blazing couldn't help but laugh a little bit when Pixie said the part about sounding like a train. That's... An interesting way to put it. He thought. Suddenly he started getting tired again out of nowhere. Um... I guess I just didn't get that much sleep. He thought, closing his eyes.

"Well. G'night Blazing." Pixie said, rolling over to her back. "Today was... pretty interesting..." She mumbled sleepily, stretching out her front legs. "I call dibs on the bathroom next morning. I need to wash my mane." The earth pony mentioned. "You better not take it."

"Hey there little guy. You are too cute~!" She mumbled in her sleep. The earth pony was dreaming of her being a filly and getting her first puppy on Hearths Warming day. "Awwww. Who wants snuggle wuggles?" The pony smiled widely while she was asleep.
