Jacula 18 September 29, 2013 Share September 29, 2013 (edited) After watching Equestria Girls, I felt like the movie was missing a proper villain or "boss showdown", Sunset Shimmer kind of delivered, but not necessarily. It was almost like Hasbro wanted to shove any old evil pony in to make the story seem more challenged other than just to have Twilight retrieve the crown. I didn't really think that much effort was put into Sunset, nor do I think much attention...the character was weak and somewhat cliche, and I can't see why she is a main villain. It would make sense to have her as sort of a background pony like diamond tiara, but instead she's made into this big villain, who then turns out to be quite awful (in my opinion ^^) I literally just watched the movie, and I don't know what you think, but my villain senses have not been for-filled, I much prefer characters like discord, who have a true evil side, as well as being unique. -don't be mad this is just what I feel Edited September 29, 2013 by Jacula
Scootalove 10,692 September 29, 2013 Share September 29, 2013 She had a lot of potential but, Hasbro didn't capitalize on that to execute it to make her a villain that can be taken seriously. I got to admit that besides the plot holes, and the unnecessary cliche romance. The villain could have been a lot better. 4 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
DokiLoki 519 September 30, 2013 Share September 30, 2013 I tolerate your opinion. I think just about every user here agrees that Sunset Shimmer was one of the weakest villains who gave up easily. 1 A True Friend sees the first tear, catches the second and stops the third I make GIF avatars for FREE. a Pegasus Pony 139 September 30, 2013 Share September 30, 2013 She could have done so much but in the end it didn't really happen So much potential wasted on such an ending that could have been way better.
Mr. Critical 434 September 30, 2013 Share September 30, 2013 True, Sunset Shimmer was a pretty insubstantial villain compared to the others, but I do have a bit of a soft spot for her. Sure she wears cliché as pants and her plan is about as transparent as a glass of water, but the series is still going. So until mlp comes to an end, I can't officially give her the award of failure. And until that inevitable day comes I'll stay by her as apart of the series itself. Demo Reel: http://mlpforums.com...-critical-r3994
uml4mj4m 134 September 30, 2013 Share September 30, 2013 Meh. They did have the perfect oppritunity to put in a better villain than her. It should of been something in the show that we had heard about, but never seen. I think I'm getting a bit too into this. -Ahem- The villain could have been better. Azrael the alicorn 72 September 30, 2013 Share September 30, 2013 Totally agree with you. The climax of EQG was one of the worst that i had ever seen. It's just so sudden and rushed. Sunset could have been much more than a bully.
