I haven't joined many online forums in the past. However, after looking at the posts on this site, I have decided I want in on the action! I hope to meet interesting people and make some friends! If anyone is interested, I also have an account on Equestria Daily with a similar username. I am looking forward to some enjoyable discussions! 

 

By the way, I have recently graduated from college. I am aspiring to become an IT professional. I just wish finding a job was easier.

You'll most likely find some interesting people around here very soon, no matter where you are. Everyone here is an interesting individual in my opinion, but you have to decide who seems intersting to you by yourself I guess.

My knowledge about IT-systems may be limited, but I can absolutely relate to your problem to find a job.

Nice to meet you Hyper, Blue Bay, and Repsol Rave! Not sure what your goals are, but let me give you some pointers based on my (limited) life experience so far. 

 

In college, your professors are probably going to talk about the paths you can go with a degree. These, however tend to be mid to high level positions for people with experience. Many fresh graduates have a hard time getting (those) jobs because they don't have the necessary experience. Chances are, you will have to start out at an entry level position that doesn't require much formal education, if any at all. It is later down the road that the degree will count. I have an unrelated degree for the career I am looking into, so this is the likely path that I will follow. 

 

LED does stand for light emitting diode in my username. Glad it was noticed.

Hey, welcome to the forums Dasher! Sounds like you're brighter than an LED in the smarts department if you're going for the IT profession. I can't even comprehend html.
