What could ponies think about vertical farms?

Vertical farms could solve many problems related to food and its allocation. It presents itself as an alternative for the traditional farm agriculture system.

 

Supposing the inhabitants of Appleloosa or the AppleJack's family hear about this idea after a human visit to Equestria and bearing in mind that this idea isn't an attempt to expropiate earth ponies from their farms (as we could see in "The super speedy cider squeezy 6000" episode) but to improve their performance. Do you think ponies could accept this human invention? Or would they continue with the traditional method?

One slight problem. Soil in Equestria also has a magical properity to it besides the usual stuff. We'd need to know if the soil still retains these properties. Also, food in equestria grows alot faster than it does here. The Zap Apple being the best example.

 

And why would ponies need vertical farms when they have weather manipulation. Humans don't have the technology to do that.

I don't think ponies really need vertical farms, it seems like they have plenty of space and are not overpopulated. 

 

But I think that they would be generally accepting on the vertical farms, as it is a smart way to save space.

Agreed. Maybe if there was some major expansion going on in Equestria, there appears to be enough space for them at the moment. Unless their universe is going to start multiplying exponentially, they'll be fine without it.

I think they would probably question why they would want to use vertical farms, then they could try to test them out first to be safe.

Another thing to note is the amount of random destruction that happens in Ponyville, whether that is Discord or some other random factor that pertains to the Mane 6. Having vertical farms would be much harder to clean up after something like this and would be ruined must faster.
