Never2muchpinkie 211 October 29, 2013 Share October 29, 2013 His name kinda doesn't make sense, considering he didn't become rich until after he started selling zap apple jam. What do you think?
ReverseFaller 2,484 October 29, 2013 Share October 29, 2013 It could be possible that he was a blank flank until he realized being a rich guy was his thing? Then again it also goes nicely with his name. I don't know, I never really looked into his character all the much, but now you've got me interested in him. Scootalove 10,692 October 29, 2013 Share October 29, 2013 Now, I'm wondering the same too. He probably realized at a young age that, being wealthy can lead to good results and that selling a product that people want can lead to him gaining his wealth in the future. That's how I see it, other people see it in different ways besides I never analyzed his character. Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Winona the Dog 1,984 October 29, 2013 Share October 29, 2013 Maybe he was just poor until he realized he was good at business or marketing. Afterwards he got rich and his name actually made sense afterwards.

So his parents being poor named their son filthy rich? Makes you wonder if his parents were acolytes of discord. Or maybe the last name is filthy, and rich is the first name Kinda like dirty richard? Maybe that's why granny smith kept calling him filthy. maybe she knew something. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvTYhrZUgYY flight to the finish. i continue to improve,
00Pony 286 October 29, 2013 Share October 29, 2013 It could be that he took the name 'Rich' after he became just that: Rich. In the past, or maybe it is just in stories - I don't know/care right now, as it works for my analogy anyway - people have taken 'names' for the deeds they have accomplished. That may be where the term 'take names' from the idiom 'kick butt and take names' comes from. You have accomplished a deed, and therefore, you take a name pertaining to the feat. Perhaps Filthy, being named this for his being poor, took the name 'rich' after he became wealthy. And his first name just fit in with the idiom of 'filthy rich'. That, or it's a show about magical talking ponies, and their names are quite often puns. But I like my earlier explanation better. Xbox Live gamertag: ArgentVulpes636.
