So in the spirit of coming Halloween and all, this is a "corrupted" version of my personal OC. I swapped the hair and tail color (and patterns) scheme around so that black becomes his dominant color, i kept his "vanilla" colors present but in a more twisted form, especially in his tail, indicating that fractions of his old self remain, that and i darkened his body color a bit. I also turned his cutie mark into something more sinister (the meaning of which his victims really dont want to find out about) and made both his mane & tail wilder looking. Let us hope season 4 brings a bit more of the darker shade of magic.

 

It's also my first ever work i've tried shading on, and i tried to add detail to his mane & tail but for some reason i kept botching it up, so that's something i'm saving for later works when i've figured that out. Either way, this is a personal improvement. I'm slowly getting there with body proportions, but hindlegs are also a slight weakness of mine. Yeah... It's a long road, but a fun one.

 

And admit it, giving into darkness is a fun thing now and then? Heehhh Heheheheh.

Thank you! Much appreciated. And yes, that is what partly inspired this work. I loved it the moment it got introduced, it's a shame that they just leave that idea so soon again. I know i have seen plenty of Dark Twilight works, so the idea itself must be a popular one. But maybe it would turn the show into something too dark? Not that i would mind if only for a twoparter or something.

 

But that was all sparked by how easily Twilight seemed to use it, i hope it will be explained upon further. And the room for tragedy and conflict is there. If not in the official way, i hope it will eventually come in the form of a fan episode.

Dark Twilight in my opinion is a fascinating idea. I wouldn't like it to be something permanent but something could really be done with that (self advertisement: I'm writing a fanfiction like that ). After all, her talent is all magic not just the Magic of Friendship ,isn't it  ?  

 

I used to think that including more Dark Magic could make the show more serious than it needs to be but if done well that wouldn't bother me and it wouldn't necessarily have to make the show darker. So yeah, more dark magic for Season 4!

 

Anyway, just to reiterate :

Glad you like it! And quite right, plenty of official characters are getting the dark magic treatment.. But now that you mention it, OC's are a bit neglected. If only people would give in already, perhaps i can find ways to... Persuade them? *wicked grin*

As for commissions, i'm hoping to be doing that myself someday. Buuuut i'm also a perfectionist and i'd hate letting customers wait. Right now my art is very much hitting the jackpot or screwing it up. The latter making up the majority of attempts.

 

But that sounds like a fun thing to do in the future.

That would be Paint Tool SAI, which is quite dependable and user friendly software. Aside that i use a Wacom Intuos5 drawing tablet, which i would recommend, but a Bamboo would also work quite well.

 

As for the cutie mark, when it is your turn to find out... You will.

That was fast.

 

Looks great! Kinda reminds me of that episode when Twilight went a bit nutty only a whole lot more... Disturbing. I guess that's what twisted insanity in combination with dark magic would spawn. That and the cybernetics makes it somewhat unnerving.
