Criticing Mlp

Now,

I love the show.
Anything I compare mLP over, mlp is likely going to be a better over all product.

there some minor points i wanna get off my chest.

 

and my brain just stopped working.  that's just great,

ah there we go.

 

The whole "bucking" the whole girl cartoon trend.  Has always seemed like a cherry picked response by the fans.

So lets explain, one of the main carrying cards of bronies is saying "but it's so much more in depth because it's knocks conventional girls cartoons."

Okay.

 

and yet when ever i say "well, why can't it have this,, or be darker or have a villain cause this disney cartoon did this, or ppg did that."

 

the response is, "well it's not that kind of cartoon.

 

Well than it's not bucking anything if it's not that kind of cartoon.

 

The cast instead of having a prince charming of sorts, it rallies on friend ship. 
I'd suggest the moral of the show is "6 diverse friends can even each other out between their flaws and weaknesses."

 

I'm going to compare MLP FIm is little mermaid,

Now i'm gonna repeat this one last time.
MLP FIM is alot more enjoyable.  ALOT.  And maybe if arial had 3 more friends besides a fish and a crab she might avoided gambeling with her soul with some evil sea witch.

 

But is twilight sparkle and friends really more independent than Arial?

She choose to make that bad decision all on her own (well okay and Ursela lol).

Which by the way,

if you tried to have a which in mlp who did half of that crap people would call it grim dark despite being from disney, so stop acting like MLP is the most progressive thing ever. 
Two illustrate my point if say Rarity wanted to whew a prince and gambled her soul with a witch who used the components of 5 ponies to grant her wish (like Ursel does with those sea wead, kelp, grub things)

MLp fans would faint.

 

Not just that, but lets compare the problems.

Darkest mlp episode ever.

Pinkie pie is bummed out her friends ditched her for a day inspiring dark fanfiction.

 

Arial sells her soul, and we even see the withered failures of past gone bad deals.  No fan fiction needed.

 

It's not really breaking the mold, cause the mold and problems are different.  What's raritys biggest problem?  Being popular?  (that's essentially it, well selling her dresses which means popular).

 

Apple jack's biggest problem is keeping her barn solvent (might be using the wrong term).

 

I'm not making light of pinkie pie feeling like crap about her mood swing, I totally have had the same thing.

but it's not a fair comparison.

 

I mean it's not entirely a new concept.

The wizard of OZ.  Dorthy isn't dating any of those guys.  That's a gathering of friends.  Unless it doesn't count because their male friends.

 

I mean even going to extremes, Discord takes over. rabbit stampedes and chocolate milk floods.  That's still not the same amount of abysmal gloom and doom in you traditional girls holly wood fantasy tale.

 

MLP by comparison with any other fantasy setting pardon the pun is a cake walk.

 

and the whole, the main cast doesn't need a charming prince is arguable.

Lets go down the list

Rarity wants one.  I know want and need are two different things, and ironically enough she may not need one so i'll just move on.

 

This is gonna get me boed but I think pinkie pie with a BF or what have you would have helped her out.  Go back to part of one.  Lets call the would be bf pony X.

Now I understand that would ruin the whole episode.  but my point is, pinkie isn't better off by being by herself, but that goes with out saying.  Hell that's even the theme of that episode, Don't ignore pinkie or she'll cut you.

I mean do you think pinkie learned anything from that episode?  I mean when your paranoid like that and you make that mistake you'd like to think you know better but you really don't or can't just learn "oh they really are there for me!"

 

I've argued in the past flutter shy enjoys, or is at least comfortable being timid.

you can say that's selfish, or manipulative, or that makes her a bad person,

 

but if she had a guy she could totally get away with that with out having to stand up for herself, and than lapse back into her shell.  I mean seriously she just re learns the same lesson over and over again.

It's not taking. 

 

I don't think apple jack needs any body (pony heh) so i won't comment.

 

As for twilight, it would be lazy to just sight flash, so i'm not going to.  Twilight would benefit from a friend willing to drag her ass away from her duties now and again.

now that' she's a princess, that might be harder for a friend to do.  I guess I can't comment on twilight till after season 4.  they might even groom twilight to need someone, who knows what new ticks she may pick up.
