planning Possible MLP Fan-Fiction Help

To those who know me, I am a fan fiction writer. I have recently finished my Elder Scrolls fan fiction entitled The Elder Scrolls Kalheim: The Dark Prophecy and am working on planning for the sequel, which shall begin being released on December 1st. However, I am a new Brony, and have obviously never considered writing an MLP fan fiction before. I want to, but I don't know exactly how it'll turn out and was wondering if I could get some help.

 

Now, characters aren't the problem, but what is are settings. I've watched the show and all, but I am still not sure on the layout of Equestria and Ponyville in general. I have had trouble finding any maps (official or fan made) and can't really find much information. I mean, with my Elder Scrolls fan fiction, I completely created my own land. Idk if that'd be the right thing to do for an MLP one.

 

Like I said though. I have characters and can get that figured out easily. Even storylines and all would be workable. It's just setting and lore that I might have trouble with. So any and all help is appreciated and rewarded. Anyone who gives me info that directly assists in getting a My Little Pony fan fiction off the ground for me will be able to create a mane character for the story. Anyone who is able to find me a detailed map of Equestria or at least Ponyville detailing where everything is can have two mane characters and be able to act as a direct adviser to my story (first come, first serve). If you happen to be the first person to get me a map AND you give me info that helps in the creation of the fan fiction, you will get two mane characters, be a direct adviser, AND will be allowed to view the first chapter before everyone else.

As for lore, you know how there was the Hearths Warming Eve episode where they showed the history of Equestria in a play? Lore is basically history. I need to know the history of the MLP universe and all.

I know what lore is. I played Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, New Vegas, ect.

 

But you don't have to follow the history of Equestria. You can make up your own in an alternate dimension. A lot of writers do that. But if you want to follow the history of the show, I will gladly fill you in.

I play Oblivion and Skyrim too (can't get Morrowind to work on my computer for some reason). I'd rather keep the fan fic in compliance with the official lore of the mlp universe. It's how I tend to write. Any and all help is appreciated. And once again, since you found me a map of Equestria, you are allowed two mane characters and if you want, you can be my adviser. Just message me your two mane characters information and if you want to be an adviser. As for any other lore help, post that here.
