Grell sighed "it's only been two days you have at least five more to go" grell said as his stomach growled again he magiced the coffin away and hugged midnight before walking out into the sun light and stretched ignoring his hunger because he ran out of apples

Midnight blinked, handing him the other half of her apple. "We can split it," she said, smiling at him. She didn't want to see him go hungry just for her sake. She followed him out of the cave and rubbed her eyes as she got used to the sunlight. "It's bright out here..."

"eat midnight iv been on the streets a day without won't kill me " grell said when midnight stepped out and said it was bright grell nodded "yeah,well we better get moving " grell pointed "this way be careful I expect to more undead as we go " grell said as he readied his scythe his stomach growled again

Midnight stuck the apple in his mouth. "Quit being so stubborn darnit!" She stomped her hoof on the ground. "I'm trying to do the right thing and you keep rejecting my offers. Let me take care of you like you've taken care of me." she huffed, an "im not amused" look on her face.

Grell ate "happy now " he asked with a smile "I'm sorry midnight I'm used to being alone and taking care of myself I'm done it for so long I don't really let others take care of me " grell said with slight frown as he walked holding his scythe with magic and scanning the woods

"I understand but now you have somepony who cares about you and wants to take care of you. You've helped me so much. You even got me out of my shell. I have barely done anything for you. It just doesn't feel right to get treated so nice without treating the other pony the same way," she admitted, walking in the direction he pointed to go.

"you've done more than you realize " grell said "before I met you I tried to walk alone and not get close to anypony it's been so long since anypony even gave me a second thought " grell sighed and before anything else could be said grell saw movement in the bush

Midnight blinked, looking at the bush, ready to turn her powers on if need be. "If it's not something undead, I want to see if I can handle it this time... I wanna get stronger..." she whispered, putting a hoof on her blade.

Grell unwrapped his hooves he didn't think it was the undead but his scythe was in his magic ready to use if needed he heard midnight "go for it if you need help I'm right here " grell said manticor leaped out of the the bush grell stood ready to help midnight

Midnight closed her eyes. When she opened them they were glowing. She grabbed her blade and charged at it. "Die!!" She jumped up in the air, backflipped in the air a little and drove her blade right into its skull. She then twisted around, slicing its head in two, landing on all four hooves, blade in mouth, blood all over her as the creature dropped dead in front of her.

"I'm impressed " grell said as he wrapped his hooves he tossed midnight the cloak he had been using to clean up blood "get yourself cleaned up "grell said he could smell rotting flesh "we're close midnight I can smell it " the smell didn't bother grell he had spent a lot of time around the dead and rotting

Midnight's eyes switched back, wiping the blood off. "Do you think I should keep my power on or keep it off until an enemy gets nearby??" She wiped the blood off her blade. She tossed the cloth back at him. As she put her blade back up, she walked back over to him.

Grell smiled "I think we'll be fine just relax " grell said as he caught the cloak grell walked slowly in the direction of the undead the farther he went the worse it they where so close that he could hear them shuffling around grell pulled his scythe out once again "ok moonbeam its time to send these fools back to the underworld " grell said

Midnight grabbed her blade. She was going to try to fight them without her demi-godess powers. "I'll bring them towards you so you don't have go every which way to get them..." She gallopped towards them at lightening speed, using her blade to shove them at him so he can kill them.

Grell spun his scythe in a cyclone of death as the undead came close they where choped to bits and killed grell ran in being sure to not get to close to midnight so he didn't kill her blood was splatering everywhere as he spun the scythe he was covered in blood and looked very scary

Midnight kept shoving more towards him, flipping and spinning gracefully. She was shocked at how well balanced she was without her powers. Just then, she lost concentration and slipped and fell, one of the undead she had thrown in the air during her fall landong on top of her. She lost her cool and started kicking and screaming as it tried chomping at her. The only thing keeping her alivw was her blade that she was using to try to push it off her.

When midnight started screaming grell looked over and saw the undead trying to make a meal out of her he tackled it off of her and punched its skull in after that he stood over her his scythe spinning as fast as possible killing everything that came near them

Midnight was still in shock from that, tears pouring down her face and her eyes wide. She couldn't wrap her mind around what happened. She was doing so well and them boom! She was about to be somepony's delicious brain meal. (((She think all the undead are like zombies))) She was sobbing and shaking uncontrolablly.

Grells mind was slipping there was so many left to kill he wasn't sure he could handle them his body temperature dropped along with his pulse and he stopped breathing altogether as the plants aroundhim wilted as if he was ddraining their life away

Midnight snapped out of it when she saw the plants dying. Her eyes started glowing and wing healed up completely as she shot out from under him and flew into the crowd of undead ponies. "DIE YOU UNGRATEFUL BEASTS!! YOU SHALL NOT RUIN MY BEAUTIFUL NIGHT!!!" she screamed in a voice not her own. She sliced and diced the undeads into such tiny pieces, there was no regenerating or coming back. Her blade was glowing a sinister blue and each slice made the blade glow brighter and brighter. She had killed all of the undeads. Her eyes flickered then went back to normal as she past out and fell into a nearby bush, her blade falling on the ground by her. (((When a god/goddess senses their child in danger, they can often "possess" the demi-child. Aka, temporarily give them a full god/goddess's power. I read that in a Greek mythology book once)))

A dark aura appeared around grell and he before he could act midnight killed the undead grell seen midnight fall he ran over to her on trail of death followed him the wound in his chest healed and the bruises on his back disappeared but grell felt her life force and sighed he didn't dare touch her

Midnight laid there, panting hard and sweating. Her eyes opened a little. "G-Grell...?" She looked up at him and smiled lovingly. "D-did I do good...?" She coughed; that power she just released took every bit of her energy and zapped it from her. She could barely keep her eyes open.

Grell smiled "you did good " grell said he closed his eyes and focused on midnight allowing the life force he'd been drawing to flow to her ,it wouldn't do much but it would help her stay awake, the circle of dead plants extended as he did so the dark aura still surround his body

Midnight blinked, feeling a little more awake. She smiled up at him. "What's that stuff around you...?" She looked at the aura around him, confused. She wanted to touch him but felt like she shouldn't. She extended her hoof to touch his face. She hesitated a bit.

"it's power, the life force my body can't hold in "grell said the plants stopped dying as grell left survival mode when she went to touch him "careful I don't know what will happen "grell said "but it'll be here for a bit till I use it" grell put his scythe up "well that's done let's head back to camp"
