Bugplayer 720 December 11, 2013 Author Share December 11, 2013 This is a fantastic Sad Pinkie pic Bugsy, stand out work as usual! I'm not usually even a big fan of Sad Pinkie, but this pic is just full of emotion and feels and... gosh, it's just beautiful! Great job as usual my friend! Haha Thanks Batbrony! I'm so happy to know you like it! I really like the emition concept on this one :3 Wow this is really beautiful, keep up the good work With all of you, gorgeous supporters, I have no other choices to keep up! Wow, an absolutely gorgeous piece, almost perfect with the way it's shaded and the rain effects. The only thing that really bothers me here though is the eye, looks like if it opened more that it would just take up half her face... otherwise though, just gorgeous. Yeah her eye may be a bit too big, should have tweaked that. Otherwise, I'm happy you like it!
Bugplayer 720 December 13, 2013 Author Share December 13, 2013 (edited) those feels though.... Very nice picture I've seen some rrreeeeeeallllllyyyyy talented people on the forums! Have a derpy as a prize Yay! Cute Derpy are best gifts ^^ I'm not going to bash you for trying unusual techniques, so don't take it that way. Experimentation is the only way to truly improve. That being said, using overlays and effects on one part of the drawing makes that one part awkward. I'd highly recommend not using layer effects until you're a master artist that actually knows what overlay is doing to the art on a technical level. I'd also not recommend using the smudge tool. This is a common trap that many new digital artist fall into. Photoshop is used for multiply things. The main thing it's used for is photo manipulation. As such, 99% of Photoshop's tools are designed for photos, not drawings. I'd highly HIGHLY recommend you stick with just the brush and eraser tool for EVERY part of the drawing. Lastly the texture on the hair, while being good, does not work with the drawing. It is very out of place against Pinkie's skin. If you are going to do that to the hair then I'd recommend doing something similar to the skin otherwise it just looks fabricated. Yes critics! I love them Also, that's one creppy avatar you go there o.o Anyways, I agree with the smudge tool. I was kind of experimenting with, how could I make her hairs to have more volume, and felt on the smudge technique. Had to try it! Also, I appear to have receives a second quote from you by email, which I can't seems to find here... But yeah! Using one layer would be a hell of a challenge, not sure if i'm up to it though. I'm still having some difficulties with the anatomy of thing in overall. And like you said, I DO focus way to much on things that I think that should be here. I really need to be natural in my drawings. Hmm... One layer painting.... This include the sketch right? Bohtty 1,775 December 16, 2013 Share December 16, 2013 Hmm... One layer painting.... This include the sketch right? Yes. Pretend that you are a painter using a brush and a canvas. In real life, you don't get layers. 1 Legit signature made by Shift.
Hawk McAdam 12 December 18, 2013 Share December 18, 2013 My goodness that's an amazing picture. It's one thing to appreciate an artist's work at displaying an emotion, but this here really makes me want to actually go find her out there in the rain and hug her. Super duper sad to see Pinkie, of all ponies, cry like that. Heh heh. Well done.
