How Would You Change the Plot?

Recall that this is now canon in Season 4: 

 

 

Twilight Sparkle: [gasp] [yelps] Princess Celestia: [voice over] Even without these elements, the Tree of Harmony will possess a powerful magic. As long as that magic remains, it will continue to control and contain all that grows here. Twilight Sparkle: I know how we can save the tree. We have to give it the Elements of Harmony. Rainbow Dash: Whoa, whoa, whoa, heh. How are we supposed to protect Equestria? Rarity: How are we meant to rein Discord in if we can't use the Elements to turn him back to stone? Applejack: Twilight... The Elements of Harmony... They're what keep us connected no matter what. Twilight Sparkle: You're right about one thing, Applejack. The Elements of Harmony did bring us together. But it isn't the Elements that will keep us connected. It's our friendship. And it's more important and more powerful than any magic. My new role in Equestria may mean I have to take on new responsibilities, and our friendships may be tested, but it will never, ever be broken. There's no time to lose. Everypony ready? All except Twilight: Ready! [gasp] [whirring] Discord: [thud] Oh, poo. Princess Celestia: We know how difficult it must have been for you to give up the Elements. It took great courage to relinquish them. Twilight Sparkle: What's inside it? How am I supposed to open it? Princess Luna: Six locks, six keys. Princess Celestia: I do not know where they are. But I do know that it is a mystery you will not be solving alone.

 

 

 Well, based upon how the Season 4 premier unfolded, its safe to say that we won't be seeing the Elements of Harmony, at least not the artifacts, for a good while. They'll be safe keeping Equestria and the lands powering the Tree of Harmony. Consequently, there's a good chance, especially after Discord basically made a theatrical sideshow of it, that we won't be seeing typical "Oh noes Equestria/Ponyville/Canterlot's  in trouble! The Mane 6 predictably led by Twilight Sparkle must defeat the monster and (try to) save the day again.

  

We know there's been at least several different unique plots in the past, some which impressed me quite a lot. There was the Crystal Empire plot, which despite testing Twilight, was cleverly subverted to highlight Spike's close relation with Twilight and make him the hero. Then you had the fun non villain, but nonetheless fun Grand Galloping Gala episode and of course A Canterlot Wedding, debuting Princess Cadence.

 

 Now if you were asked to write out the plot for a Season premiere or finale 2 parter for the show, how would you have it play out? make it drama and big villain based where the Mane 6 defeat him? Have Twilight face (yet another) obstacle? It would even be interesting to introduce new OCs that aren't villains (or female alicorns for that matter)   Personally given that the mystery box, conveniently having 6 key holes, is now a plot device, I would have the Mane 6 go on a epic adventure to known and unknown lands near and afar and in the process reflect and learn a bit more about themselves and as friends.  

 

So don't be shy. Shoot some ideas out there.

The last episode.

 

The pairings to me felt odd.

No really flutter shy went to a scary mansion with rarity for fashion.  I'm fine with that for rarity, but flutter shy was like "Sure".... get the buck out.

No, no, no.

 

I think A.J. and rarity would had better chemistry in the castle.

maybe rainbow dash dragging flutter shy there to help toughen her up.

I dun know i'm mostly in a happy place with the show now.

I would make it all about Rarity. 

 

Sorry, I just found out that 2013 is going to be a second Rarity-less year, and that's driving me a little nuts.
