Minimum post requirement

Specifically for the RP board. I kind of get that you don't want noobs who can't grasp the concept of the shift key or commas flooding the board, but this is the wrong way of going about it. I understand 5 posts isn't exactly breaking the bank, but you still get to deal with the little spammy posts such as this from people who only want to RP and don't care about the remainder of the board. Who knows? Maybe I won't like the various RPs of this site and will abandon ship, leaving nothing but a handful of useless 'I hate this system' posts.

A while back we had some issues with new members coming to the forums and immediately start doing whatever they wanted in the Roleplay section without taking the time to stop and look at the rules of the section. So many RPs were being derailed or outright destroyed, so the minimum was initially created to make sure that the users could follow community rules prior to joining the RP section. I understand where you're coming from though and it is annoying to those who come here soley for RP purposes. I know this from experience because I myself was a member that when I originally joined, I only joined for Roleplay.

 

However, I've been pushing more for a community feel lately, and new or not, all members are a part of it. We still expect all users to read and follow all rules for all sections of the site that they wish to partake in. So keep in mind, we won't be lenient on members because they are new. All members, new and old will be expected to know the rules and to follow them. RP world, now considered open to all.

Is there not one of those big boards that come up with the rules before your first time posting there, similar to how if you wish to create a thread here you get a re-run of the rules, except in this instance it's for the first. I know I read it before clicking "I've read and whatnot"

I think a small post min is required to keep trolls and the like out, that way moderators and other members have time to spot the trolls possibly before they cause any problems within roleplays or elsewhere.

 

Plus getting like 5 posts is a piece of cake.. I mean i have like 6k+, i think new members can handle 5 ;p.
