(Silver Star) I thought about the question for a bit.

"Life hasn't exactly been kind to my brother. And I didn't exactly help."

I remembered to a time when I was younger, seeing him cry in his closet of a room. And how it used to bring a smile to my face. I regret it now. But... it wasn't exactly cruel. Ponies did much worse things to him than I.

 

 "we don't get along really."

Well, Patterson could see that very plainly. "Wow, sounds terrible. My sister River, well technically she is adopted, has been through some pretty rough stuff. My whole family has, see we lived in a terrible land outside of Equestria for alot of my growing up years. It was very oppressive there, and we barely survived all those years. But I don't think that we could get along any better right now, in fact we are almost always together, and we would be right now if it weren't for her being detained back at home with...whatever it was."

 

Patterson looked up at a big building that looked like a giant baked good, and stopped, "Well, either that's the bakery or somepony really wants to attract a troll...or, both... LET'S GO!" He walks up the pathway and smacks into the door clearly marked "Pull".

 

Pinkie Pie opens the door from the inside and looks down at Pat, "OH Hi! I LOVE making silly faces on the glass! And so do Pound and Pumpkin! But you know what I love EVEN MORE? Eeeating CUP-Cakes!" She said with a sing-song voice. She pulled him inside, brought him up to the counter, and subsequently set a cupcake in front of him. "Oh um, I..." "OOOoooooR, Maybe you would like a MUFFIN" She places a muffin next to the cupcake. *GAAASP* "How about a cinnamon bun! Or a cookie! Or a turnover, or a strudel, OOH! That's a fun word to say! Or a slice of pie, or a slice of cake, or a  croissant, or a tart, or..." She kept on listing bakery items and sequentially placing the item in front of Pat.

By celestia she just keeps going. Better order something to make her stop.

"Okay, I'll have a... strawberry shake. If you have those.

I really did like strawberries. The pink mare had gone, most likely to see if she had shake.

"In response to yours, it was really hard on Critic when he was young. Its hard to make friends when the whole town seems to only live to see him misreable."

I thought back to my days as a filly. All the horrid things I did to him. I was joining in on the fun and knew nothing of the consequences.

"I regret to the things I've done, and I hope to make amends to them someday. But looking back, I don't think that's an option anymore."

"Sorry to hear about that." He said, not sure what else to say. "I'll have one of those chocolate raspberry tarts." He said pointing to one in the refrigerated display. "So, tell me about yourself. What do for a living? Any hobbies maybe?"

This guy was... actually pretty fun to talk to.

"So, tell me about yourself. What do for a living? Any hobbies maybe?"

"Well as I said, for most of my years growing up I lived in another part of the world, and after we left, we went to live in my parent's home town, Fillydelphia. Then later on, River and I moved to Hoofington, our current residence. I am a volunteer firefighter there, and I am a pianist and singer. Hobbies? Uh Playing the piano and singing, I guess. Sometimes River and I get together, I play piano while she plays the guitar and we sing duets. Not too much really" 'Ha! If only she knew of my second life as SSMan' He thought.

Lightning Feather nodded. "The Inn is just this way," she told him, pointing down the street a ways. She prepared to walk off but then remembered why she was sent there by her CO in the first place. "I suppose I should escort you there," she said to him. "What is your name, by the way?"

Really? Huh. I guess that I have never seen any of your films. As a matter of fact I've hardly seen any films, they are somewhat of a rarity. What an age we live in. Of course I bet that that is exactly what the ponies who first established the land of Equesria said. And it's probably what ponies are going to be saying a thousand years from now." "But anyway, don't worry I'm sure that you will eventualy find a special somepony, and your life will come around. In fact, I bet you might find somepony at the Hearts and Hooves Day Festival coming up. It is a "magical" day after all, and the festival is supposed to be full of many ponies from all over Equestria! There's got to be somepony out there who would like you for who you really are."

(Mr.Critical)i left the cafe after eating my lunch. never get tired of gryphnian food. Now, what to do now. something to waste my time. or maybe... something productive. *sigh. oh well. into the void of possibilities i guess.

Hmm, thought cade. I guess my charms dont work on all mares. he smiled, here was an interesting mare! however, he wasn't so sure she would be interested in him. still, interested in him or not, he was interested by her, so he decided to tag along. "id love to!" he said, sounding confident, but inside he was a little nervous. "so, Lightning Feather," he said curiously as they trotted along, "why haven't you ever been to pony ville before? I would think in your profession you would go many places." aw, man, that was the most boring thing i could possibly say. wait, calm down cade, its just a mare. yeesh.

Doug stares at the sealing mind racing, *maybe I could just make 'friends' with her I can't take this too far or else I'll cause something that I don't want to go through.* He looked out at the setting sun, the clouds fading to a rosy red colour. "Nope, I'm not letting distance get in my way. Besides, it's just distance, what could that possibly do?" He was in denial, he still knew this was a terrible idea. He flopped into bed, exhausted, so he went to sleep early.

After finishing up the final bite of his tart, Patterson got up out of his chair and began to put his trench coat back on. "Well, that tart was most delightful. Do you have any idea of a good place that we might stop at next?" He asked. "How about the Ponyville Marketplace?"

Morning rose over Ponyville. Choco was up fixing herself some chocolate pancakes. She ate most of them, but left some for Doug, in cause he was hungry. She then trotted over to the hotel he was staying in. The hotel manager led her to Doug's room. Choco knocked on his door, and waited.

Doug woke in am awkward position drool dripping on the uncomfortable pillow, when he hears a knock on the door "who can that be?" He said to himself in an unamused voice he got up slowly and trotted to the door. "Yes? ...oh, Hi Choco." He said with a weak smile "what's up?" He asked.

(Silver Star) "This is my first time here. If you dont have any other suggestions im game."

(Mr. Critical) Ponyville market. Iknow I can find some interesting trinkets here. like when i found that odd ring with the odd scripture on it. I didnt buy it because... well, it wispered things to me. But enough of that. What do we have today?

Patterson looked at the orange sun setting over the horizon, and turned to Silver Star. "Whoa! I didn't realize how late it was. I guess that I should be headed back to my room at the Inn. But we could meet up again tomorrow to explore more of Ponyville if you would like, since we didn't get to much time today." He stopped and awaited an answer from her.

I left after a wave goodbye. That was a pretty eventful day. Things are Looking up.

 

(Mr Critical) Well, that was fun. Better head home. It was aroute i knew too often. Blue door, turn key, head to shower, bed. Well, vant get any worse

"Nothing much, but I brought you these!" Choco stated as she held the chocolate pancakes wrapped up in a plate. "Hope you like chocolate." She added with a giggle. Choco was ready to go, ready to go out with Doug and do some stuff for the rest of that day. She thought about what they would do that day.

After having a good nights rest, Patterson woke up feeling refreshed and ready to attack the day which lay ahead. He had this strange but pleasent feeling inside, but he didn't know what it was. Oh well. He sat down at a table in the breakfast room, at the first floor of the inn, When he realised, "OH for crying out loud! We forgot to set a specific time to meet! Curse my derned poor planning!" He said while banging his head on the table. "I hope I'll still be able to find her."

Doug was suddenly mesmerized by the smell of pancakes "Why, thank you" He said with a grateful smile.

"So, I... don't know anything about this town" he said sheepishly "Maybe you can show me around?" he asked. he felt odd beig almost like the 'dumb one' here.
