Why does Princess Luna engage in nosism?

Why does Luna always take with nosism? Is there any particular reason that she refers to herself as "we" or is it just a personality quirk? None of the other royals do it, so I doubt that's the reasoning behind it.

 

I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the matter.

My guess is that it's a habit from a thousand years ago. Everyone used to use it before she was banished, and now that she's come back, she's discovered that modern vernacular has changed and she hasn't adapted yet. That's my guess, anyway.

Yeah as Eris said, thats how they talked back before she got banished.. or maybe Celestia was the odd ball back then lol

She's ignorant of the changes in mannerisms.  Being imprisoned for a thousand years will do that.  She's not weird she just has a lot of adjusting to do.

If you guys were born in the early 1000s wouldn't you be kind of awkward seeing our current time?  That was the darkest of the dark ages.  Different mannerisms, ideas, methods of reason.  It wouldn't be your fault if you acted like a "weirdo" jumping ahead to 2013.

That's probably how they talked in the years leading up to Luna's banishment, so that could explain why she talks like she was in Medieval times.
