Like that? If so, look on the bottom right of their post for a "Quote" button and their message should be automatically inserted into the reply box at the bottom of the thread.

There's a quote button in the lower right-hand corner of their posts.

 

As you've guessed, there are other methods, but since you just wanted the one, I felt the simplest one was the one you were looking for.

You click the quote button under someone's post and *bang* it puts there post in this text box at the bottom of the page and you type what you want to say to them under the quote and hit the post button.
