Jokuc 8,173 December 26, 2013 Share December 26, 2013 I don't know why, but somehow I think of cotton candy when I see her xD ..Anyways, it looks great actually! I like the colors :3 But let me give you some advice Firstly, if you look at all the blue circles, there are edges that's supposed to be sharp, but they are cut off. This is because the miter limit of strokes is set to 4 or something as default. You can easily fix these by going to the Fill and Strokes window (press Ctrl+Shift+F). Go to stroke style or whatever it says for you (the tab to the right) and set the miter limit to something higher. Wee! Next up we have the red and orange circles, these are line ends that are supposed to be sharp instead of ...edgy. First, go ahead and make a copy of the whole path's object. Press Ctrl+C to copy and then Ctrl+Alt+V to paste in place. Press the object on the top once and go to the Fill & Stroke window. Go to the Stroke color tab and press none. Now move the object one level down. To do this, go to Object -> Move down (or whatever it says.) Or press Page Down. Now deselect the object by left-clicking anywhere on the document and press the new top object. Go to the fill & stroke window, then go to the Fill tab and select none. When we now have the stroke and fill as different objects, we want to convert the line so we can edit it like the fill to make the ends sharp. Press the edit path tool (F2) and select the line. Now press the button shown at the top in this image, or press Ctrl+Alt+C. Now you can edit it however you want and make the ends sharp. When making pony legs, be sure to look at what the hoof-shapes for different kind of ponies are. Normal ponies has rounded hooves while taller ponies such as princesses or Fleur de Lis has legs that are a little bit thinner at the top but becomes wider at the bottom. Their hooves are not as round as normal ponies' hooves. I made this quite quick to show you an example of how normal pony legs looks like and how tall ponies' legs looks like. Of course you can change the thickness and all as much as you want, but remember to not go way too unique or it will not look that good :3 I mean like, of course you can have them wider or taller if you want but keep the shape. One last thing. The orange circles. The ends of the back legs are usually normally sharp ends, but the ends for the front legs are a little bit different. They are curved on the outside, but not on the inside. Examples above are Luna's and Twilight's legs (ignore the difference in width, just look at the ends.) Do do this, again, split the fill and outline into different objects and edit the outline as I explained above. I hope this helped @@Flux, do you mind if I use this post as a tutorial? It seems like a lot of people has troubles with this kind of thing
