Good morning everyone!

And from what I've gathered of other posts of this forum for introductions.

 

I'm an Australian brony like Immatoonlink and Feather, minus his channel content and his creativity and skills in Flash and the singing skills. Sadly won't be going to Bronycon in Marebourne because I'll be overseas...

 

To be blunt -
Favourite Pony: Fluttershy, Big Macintosh and Zecora.
What got me into the fandom: I had heard of the brony fandom back during its onset but I didn't pay much attention to it because of... personal problems. Back when I was writing alot back on Fanfiction.net, another writer who I became friends with started incorperating ponies into his story as a sort of thing that two of the characters (Kanji and Nanako from Persona 4, All He Sees Is Red is the name of the fanfic) start talking about it. From there, I decided to watch it with indifference and eventually, even though I only own a poster from which I got from a uni poster sale stall, it became something I would take my time to watch thereafter - moreso because it felt more like something I watched back on Cartoon Network as a child and because I trusted Faust's direction with it.

 

Thereonafter, it was the fandom.

 

And to be honest, it was one I immedietly respected for what it was despite the little things in the fandom that makes me   and sigh and . This was the only active community that I saw change things in more than one aspect and garnered my own faith in people. In other communities I often saw them sing high praises of themselves or do things that were still amazing by their own rights but here, I found something unique. I think the fandom is very similar to Touhou in that we are all from something that began small and unexpected at it's beginnings and eventually grew to be known. Here, in the bronydom, we began; our own charities (Nurse Redheart, Kiki Donations, Humble Brony Bundle, etc.), friendships in ways not thought possible, a change in the way societal expectations of people and the definitions of what gender does not necessarily allow to happen, creating our own celebrities in the fandom (from singers to animators, composers to writers), finding ourselves and others who would otherwise be kept away or washed by the mad rush of 'modern real life', our own conventions, a small mark of cultural impact that who knows? Might even make a mark in cultural history, connections to even the show staff who give us occasional winks of acknowledgement (whether for better or worse) and most importantly a following, from even the likes of Seth Green and Gabe Newell, from little children to adults.

 

The most important to me, however, was the creativity.

 

To me, these were all things that made me know we were so different from others because of what we did/do and what we are rather than what we are known by. I don't and can't find any Adventure Time/Anime/Doctor charities or closeness to the staff (I'm not counting stuff like idols in anime because I feel they are more for show than actual bonds to the fans). We broke boundries in ourselves and as a group.

 

So.

 

Hobbies: Obviously, I watch MLP.

Otherwise I have an ecleptic taste in things. I'm part of the SCA of my university (Society of Creative Anachronisms), also been slowly but hopefully getting back into Parkour and maybe even becoming an instructor if all things go to plan with the APA, a writer with a novel to somehow get going, a gamer of all sorts except racing, a lover of books and knowledge and concept and philosophy. Love Moffat's interpretation of Sherlock and currently awaiting the Reichenbach explanation. I somewhat kinda watch Doctor Who, I'm currently downloading a 300gb file with the first 26 seasons (I'll probably die before watching all of them but I do love Tennant and Tom Baker). Bravest Warriors I also like, need to see Adventure Time one day...

 

Pony-related things - I am an aspiring voice-actor, and I do readings of fanfictions of which I deem worthy or interesting. However I have been rather slow lately because I just sometimes am scared or feel too depressed to do one. And because YouTube has been I.D content matching some of my own stuff with things that don't exist (if you know the current situation). I am also in progress of writing some of my own fanfiction for FiMfiction which if according to myself, is far better than my VA talent.

 

After being referred here by Arkane (the guy who does the magnificent 'Crystal Empire Saga' on his channel) I decided to see if I could lend my skills (terrible or incrapibly crap)  to any projects that might require it.... since VAA has been slow or had lot's of threads to which I don't think my voice would work with. Other than that I am watching the fandom and leaving it to be one of my last bastions of hope for humanity.
