I am kind of annoyed at the editting modes. The normal mode is where the input field automatically formats stuff, including images and links. And at times that becomes annying when I just want to add in special stuff, like a YouTube video or some such nonsense.

So I am asking, is it possible to somehow have a default editting mode. So I can set mine to the the one with the BB Codes. But others dont have to?

You can click the little "Toggle editing mode" button on the left-top corner, right?

And it also stays like that if you go onto another page.

I love you! <3

Its probably an unchangable standard of IPS. Its the way their editting wworks and cant really be changed permanently from the sounds of things. Theres always contacting the people of IPS about it if you really want it changed.

I believe your choice of editor (rich text vs. plain text) is stored in a cookie. If you clear your cookies, the default rich text mode will be used.

FYI, you can enter BBCodes into the rich text editor and they will be parsed when you submit the post. You can also embed a Youtube video without any BBCode whatsoever - just paste the URL to its page directly and it will be embedded.

It's weird because when I post a YouTube link it seems to parse to a URL first. Then again, perhaps I will try it out, because I'm scared of new things because muffins.

I'll try it like that first them.

A Youtube URL will only be parsed into an embedded video if the segment after the question mark contains nothing but "v=<video id >". Sometimes, other parameters can be found in Youtube URL's, which you should remove before pasting the link.
