 Shamrock shrugs."Maybe. I'm just hoping that we can sit close to each other and hold hooves. Sure other things would be fun. But I like taking things slow. We might even fall asleep like that and you can rest your head on my shoulder." She sounded giddy just thinking about it with more of a skip in her step.

Glacier increased her speed again to get alongside Shamrock. "I suppose we may be able to. I could use the opportunity to build my endurance as well. Do you know what's going to be in the rooftop garden? Will it be just plants in pots are open earth with a variety of foliage?"

 

(Also, do you have any idea how you put an image into a signature?)

Shamrock's smile grows. "Well, my friend makes a pretty good living so her garden is custom built. It's open earth and it grows like if it was on the ground. It's got flowers and trees. Some are in pots cause she likes to keep the same flower in the soil it grew in. And she has about three bonsai trees."

Glacier nodded.  "That sounds rather good,"  Glacier replied. "It sounds like your friend knows what she is doing if she's able to grow trees on top of a building. How far away are we from the garden?"

 

Time had begun to wear on. The streets of Fillydelphia were beginning to fill with ponies coming back from work and going to resteraunts for dinner. Gradually, the streets began to fill. The large amounts of ponies getting closer to Glacier annoyed her and she growled continuously with dislike.

 "Well she is a plant breeder. And it's just over there." She points to a three story house with trees on top of it. "Sorry it took a while to get here." She walks up to the door and takes off her hat and pulls out a key that was in it and unlocked the door. She puts the key back in her hat and opens the door.

After Shamrock opened the door, Glacier quickly dashed through. She stopped growling as soon is she left the street  and hastily ascended the stairs. The house was lavishly decorated and Glacier it had more space than Shamrock's apartment so she felt a little more comfortable. However, she wasn't here to look at sofas.

 

Glacier climbed the set of stairs that led to the roof and looked around. There were many plants she recognised and knew about, but in the midst were a few she'd never seen before.  'Must be something they bred.'  she thought.

 Shamrock kept her smile and closed the door then followed Glacier. "I see you like the pace." She takes a seat under a peach tree."My mate asked my to water her plants too. Later I'm gonna head back to the inn and get my stuff and head back here. I just got the room for the night."

"That sounds like a good idea,"  Glacier replied. "Your hotel room was not big enough for a pony. It was the perfect size for a foal and not a fully grown mare."  Glacier walked over to a soft patch of dirt, walked in a circle on it and lay down on it in a ball. She kept her eyes on Shamrock. 

 

'Now's the best time for her to strike if she's up to anything dodgy. I'll need to keep my wits about me'

 "Yeah, but it was the first place I found. And it was cheap. But I'm gonna stay in the guestroom here. And since there's a lot of room you can stay here the night. You can even stay up here if you want. It's outside, it has grass and trees, no one will bother you. And I don't have to worry."

"I'll think about it,"  Glacier replied. "I still can't understand why you care about me so much and want me alive. I'm not providing anything or assisting in a job or something like that." 

 

To help pass the time, Glacier levitated a group of pebbles in front of her. She bounced them in the air slowly and moved some of her attention from Shamrock to the magic.

 "I like you. So of course I want you alive. And why wouldn't I care about you?" She takes off her hat and puts three peaches from the tree in it so it wouldn't blow away. Then she rolled over to her."And all I need from you is you. And you're already giving my a chance. And that's all I ask. Would you mind if I hold your hoof?"

"Hm... fine,"  Glacier said as she moved one of her hooves closer to Shamrock's. She shuffled back slightly to get a small bit further away from Shamrock's body, still keeping the pebbles in the air. "There really isn't any need to worry about me sleeping outside. I've done it for seven years and I'm not afraid to kill if anything comes near me."

Shamrock gently took her hoof. "I know, but I can't help it. To be honest I don't really know why I'm worried so much. I think it's because I don't like the thought of you being alone." Her face gets a little sad and she holds Glacier's hoof with her other one as well. "No one should be alone."

When Shamrock touched Glacier's hoof, she instictively let a out a quiet growl. However, it quickly subsided. "I don't mind being alone," Glacier replied. "Being alone is great. When you're alone, there's nopony to rely on and nopony relying on you. Nopony will hold you back and when you're alone, nopony will betray you and stab you in the back. Being alone is better than being with others."

 "No it's not. Before I met my da I was alone and I had no one. Most orphans in Detrot end up dying or getting into crime to survive. That's why the mob is large there. I've almost died from starvation two times. The first time I had to steal a box of donuts from a bakery. The other time was when I met my da. So it's not always good to be alone."

After listening to Shamrock's tale, Glacier hung her head. "Listening to you now... it just shows how easy life is,"  Glacier whispered. "Most of us wake up and have something to do, a reason to live and the things required like food. Even the mad ones like me who separate themselves from society will only get stuck if they're cocky or uneducated but you... you and ponies like you face an actual chance of death. Did you ever think or wish that you could just end it all?"

 Shamrock pulls Glacier's hoof a little closer while looking away with a little shame."A few times. There's this large bridge that connects the two parts of the city. The lower class and the poor, and the middle and higher class. I use to stare over the bridge wondering what it would be like if I just... jumped. I wondered if anyone would ever cared if I was gone. Before I met da I thought no one would ever care. Not even the ponies who would have to drag my body out of the river."

Glacier placed her free hoof on top of Shamrock's. She dropped the rocks she was levitating and sat up straight. "So even though you were tempted to end it all,"  Glacier replied. "You kept on going through the worst of it. It seems you're a fighter in more ways than one. That's an admirable trait to have." With a smile, she turned to face Shamrock and placed a leg around her.

 Shamrock gives a small smile from the gesture."I guess I am. When I would look over the bridge I would be interrupted by my stomach growling. Then I would head off to look for something to eat. You got a few admirable traits yourself. You were willing to go off and live in the woods so you could help your da." She lightly nuzzles Glacier's hoof that she was holding. "To me, that's almost like the making of a saint."

When Glacier felt her hoof being nuzzled, she didn't growl in response. Instead, she smiled and shuffled a bit closer to Shamrock. "It was the least I could've done," she replied. "I was one of the main things that was stopping him from being able to get the help he needed. And you're the foirst to say it's a good thing. I've had ponies say I was a monster and left my father in a time of need."

 Shamrock smiled back and scooted a little closer as well. "You're not a monster, Glacier. If you were a monster you would have thought of your da as a burden onto you. But instead you thought yourself as the burden. And you put his well being before your own." Shamrock put a caring hoof on Glacier's cheek and gives her a warm smile. "You're not a monster, Glacy. Not by a long shot."

Glacier' s smile grew into a genuine grin. "You're one of the few ponies that's ever understood that,"  Glacier replied. She shuffled closer to Shamrock again and gently wrapped her forelegs around her. She rested her head on Shamrock' s shoulders. "It surprises me to say this; I actually enjoy spending time with you. I'm able to actually talk with you about things knowing that you're not above stress and sadness."

Shamrock smiled as well and hugged her back. "I like spending time with you too. And it's like my da use to say, 'If you dwell to much on the negative of things you won't be able to see the beauty the world has to offer.'."She chuckles a little. "Da had a saying for everything. A story too. And he always had a smile on his face." She pulls her a little closer and sniffs a few times. "I hope I was a good daughter."

As Shamrock pulled Glacier closer, she firmly patted her on the back. "If I was your father and if you were even a tenth the mare you are now,"  she said. "I'd be honoured to call you one of my own. Any father would want a humble, kind daughter like you. Your father seems like he was a wise man and you are certainly the daughter he deserved."

Shammy enjoyed the warm feeling that came over her from Glacier's wards and from the hug they were shearing. Shamrock could also feel a warm feeling in her heart as it beat slightly faster then normal. She lightly pulled away so she could look into Glacier's eyes. Then without thinking she gave her a kiss on the cheek." That means a lot to me, Glacy. Thank you. "She said with a warm smile.
