Wander jumped a little at the filly's yelling, and said to Star Belle, "hold that thought, I want to hear about your parents, but there is something else I need to look into." He dropped the apples and cider and trotted quickly over to the little mare. Without hesitating he used his head to flip her on to his back, and started to carry her away from the camp , "I'll help you with your problem but in return you're going to give me some answers you got that... Uh." He struggled to remember what the other's had called her, "Willow" he remembered but said unsurely.

 

(I had totally missed that she was so young before, had to do a double take when I saw that on your post.)

Wanderlust realized how rough he was being, this filly might act like a mature adult but it wasn't right to be so harsh with her. Now away from the group he gently set her down, "sorry." He couldn't look directly at the her tear stained face, "I just have to know about something." He tried to pick his words carefully but couldn't think of how to start so instead he reached into his saddle bag.

 

He pulled out the red monocle he had been using earlier, "that's a swirling glass, it's named after Star Swirl the bearded, when you look through it you don't see anything physical but instead the magic in the world. Magic is in the earth, trees, animals, everything I'm sure you know that, but it has different appearances and colors. Pegasus look all swirly and like their filled with clouds, magic in earth ponies seems to sink down to their hooves, unicorns magic is really bright but they blink like a lighthouse."

 

He tossed the monocle to the filly for her to try, "Before I wanted to see what Star Belles magic was like, it was very interesting like swirling rainbows, but then I looked at you... Your a Pegasus but your brighter than the sun was, like your burning up... It reminded me of... Why are filled up with the firestorm?"

 

(That part before about parents was talking to Star Belle sorry for confusing you, I'm going to go edit it now to be more clear!)

Wanderlust was stunned, "She gave that kind of power to you? An eleven year old pegasus filly?" The idea terrified him, to put that kind of burden on a child, 'it's no wonder she wakes up crying and needing help.' He couldn't help but lean down and hug her, "sorry, I reacted so badly, seeing it scared the Tartarus out of me." He let her out of the bear hug, "you can keep the swirl glass for now if you want, I'd just go blind using it if I accidentally look at you."

 

He sat down, "now what did you need advice on? Besides being forced to have the power of the sun in you..." He gave a nervous chuckle.

"Well, we are going to go to Canterlot, right. Luna was right there with Celestia when she was sick. I tried to heal her, but I couldn't. Luna said there was nothing I could do. Thet sent me to Ponyville, and when I got there, it all started. I keep blaming myself for all this, and now that we are going back, I'm afraid she will be mad at me." Willow told Wanderlust about the dream. (read my post if you have not already.) "That's what I'm afraid of! Not the dungeon part, the part about her. Luna and Celestia were always like moms to me; they took care of me, they fed me, and they played with me. Losing Celestia was devastating, but losing Luna would be horrible. That's the problem! I'm afraid the only friend I have left will hate me!

Wanderlust thought about how he had been thinking of traveling home before the firestorm, he'd been afraid too and when he had left he didn't so much as say goodbye. He had just disappeared, walking out without warning. He felt a lump in his throat in guilt because he knew now he would never find them. 'Yeah can give her advice in this.'

 

"Willow you're being too hard on yourself, it sounds like you did all you could and luna made you leave. So why would she be angry at you? I think she knew what was coming, she wanted to save you." He sighed and looked at Luna's moon it still hadn't moved in all this time, "and besides don't you want to she that she's safe? Even if she's mad won't finding her again mean so much, she's your family like you said, you can't pass up a chance to see her again."

Willow took off a necklace she always hid in her mane. It was a locket, and inside was a picture of Princess Luna and Celestia and willow all laughing. "All of us have the same lockets. But Luna loved it the most. When she came back from the moon, I was constantly easing her pain and shame. I succeeded then; but this time I failed. That's why."

She lost her sister, with the power that the firestorm struck with she probably thinks she lost her daughter as well, when she sees you again she will only think of the good moments and thank the heavens for returning you to her. She'll need you more than ever now, so you need to be brave. You say you can heal hearts even if she's mad at you, which she won't be, it will be because what's happened hurts her so much, so be stronger and love her all the more. Sometimes it's easier to be mad to hide your sadness or mean to hide your hurt."

 

He put his hoof on her shoulder "you'll see her and realize you worried for nothing. You'll see how much she needs you. Now I need you to do one thing for me okay?"

Now what I want you to do won't be easy for you and you might not like me telling you to do this but I don't want you to say you failed to save Celestia ever again. You tried your best to save her, I can tell. Sometimes there will be people you can't save, but if you can't forgive yourself," he touched his chest, "it will make you dark inside and you can't let that happen, you've got Celestia's sun in there so you have to stay light inside for her. No matter what happens you don't give up and you fight your fears, if they seem too big to fight you find me, Chilly or Runedawn we'll help you fight and be strong no matter what."

Wanderlust marveled over the little fillies resilience maybe their was a good reason Celestia had trusted her to hold the power of the sun but it seemed like the weight of the world was on those small shoulders and as a stallion that had carried very few responsibilities in his life he couldn't forgive the princesses for doing that to her.
