New Brony

Hey everyone.

I used to be one of the people that hated MLP: FIM, and constantly bashed it. Honestly, I was wrong. Today I checked it out to see if I can find out why so many people enjoy it. Well, I found that answer. I also watched a documentary about the fandom and that is what reeled me in. I share so many attributes with so many Bronies, it would be hard to not feel some sort of a connection with the fanbase.

I feel extremely guilty about mindlessly bashing the show in the past, but watching it brought me back into my childhood where cartoons were good. I haven't felt that special vibe in a long time.

 

I really feel like I owe the community an apology for any bashing I've done. Maybe now I could consider myself a part of it.

If you're thinking about joining our community then consider me your friend :3! Seriously, no harm done. People here don't care if you've bashed the fandom as far as I can tell. They get happy when someone says stops bashing. We have a few of the most active members that were once anti-brony.

 

If it means anything, you've earned my forgiveness !

It is really no different than watching something like Samurai Jack or Dexter's Lab, except that MLP has one of the most wonderful fanbases I've seen.

I would have to say, as well, that the fandom is by far one of the best parts of MLP.

That, in a nutshell, is why I also love pokemon and Doctor Who.

(fun fact, Doctor Who was originally made as a children's show)

Welcome to the Herd! I started watching the show when I was looking for something to watch with my 2 year old daughter. She loved it, and my sons best friend loved it too. Well, after the first 4 episodes...I couldn't get enough. Great characters, great stories, great character development, and great morals. Also, finally a modern show with actually GOOD animation...too many cartoons today SUCK as far as animation, with everyone trying to capture the anime or anime/western style. I hated that.

 

I digress, you have my forgiveness and a brohoof!

Well, as long as you take it for what it is and try to look beyond the normal parameters that the show and the fandom target to what they are today, then you're forgiven.

 

Some people weer just like you once when they heard about the fandom for the first time but it's best for us to take the hate as it is and hope that things would be different for the haters in the end when they take the time to look into not just the show but also the community that thrives upon what the show offers that many cartoons today just don't have.
