Drone sighed as he sat through the class as bored as a fence,he smiled when class finished,he hurried as quickly as he could to catch Dashie before she left the school,he did,thankfully and he stopped her with a hoof on her shoulder,he sighed softly and said in a kind,sorry tone,"Hey Dashie,listen,I'm sorry if I crossed the line when I licked your cheek,but,it was all in fun and games."he said softly,hoping she would give him her forgiveness.

Chrysalis's ears flattened as she sat on her flank and sighed,"Ok...bye...have a good day sweety...have fun..."she said softly as she closed her eyes,she was SOOOOO bored.

Flash sat through yet another session of teaching rowdy stallions and admiring mares. He needed a vacation. His assistant Melody helped a lot, but he still wished he could just fly away. He was tired of telling the stories of his adventures. He wanted to go and have one.

 

Dashie looked surprised as Drone caught up to her and apologized. She smirked and said "Yeah right, your just sorry cuz you couldn't have more of me. Ha!" She flicked her tail in his face as she walked past him smugly.

 

"Um okay, I'll be back soon. I'll see you later." Summer said with a hesitant smile.

Drone blinked,his smile faded as his heart dropped and he turned,walking away with his head down,he walked out of the school and started to fly into the cloud,he sat on on far away from ground,no one could hear him or see him,so he laid his face in the white puff floating in the sky and started crying softly,"I-I g-guess I-I j-just f-fooled myself a-again...n-no one r-really cared a-about m-me...th-they are s-s-so m-m-m-mean!!!!"he cried into the pillow and after a minute,something inside him snapped and his eyes seemed to change from sadness to instant anger,they were cold and hard,like steel,he slowly lifted and said in a deeper,scarier tone,"Then I guess I fooled myself about all of them...they never cared about me or loved me...in that case...self termination is the only answer..."he said and made his armor only take up his left arm,he extended the cannon only half way and put it to his chin,he then shot,the huge weapon making an explosive sound as its projectile blew up Drone's head,now it was just shoulders and neck,but,he was immortal,so he was not truly dead,but somepony would have to find him sooner or later.

Flash was in the middle of teaching when he felt it. Well actually he felt nothing. But that was just it. Nothing. He turned to Melody in a panic and said "You take over, I gotta go." He zoomed out of the room thinking 'Nonononononono!' He blasted of in the direction he had last felt Drone. He saw a little wisp of smoke rising from a distant cloud. He flew up and what he saw horrified him. "No!" he screamed. He flew down and landed on his knees next to his friend. He was shaking as he gently picked up the body and held it close. He started sobbing uncontrollably. "You idiot." he mumbled. "Why'd you have to go and do something like this." He could barely make the words out at this point. "DRONE! " he screamed. He put his face into his friends bloody shoulder and cried hysterically.

Drone felt the tears on his shoulder and then heard his cries,him screaming his name and asking why he did what he did,and he then slowly opened his eyes,his whole head was completely red with blood,he felt every single muscle in his friend's body shake uncontrollably,he wasn't quite alive yet again,so he didn't breathe,nor could he,blood was blocking his nostrils and his wind pipe,his head then fell on his friend's shoulder as he could feel a heartbeat again and feel his muscles twitching back to life,he then hugged his friend extremely tight,tears cutting through the thick layer of blood on his face,he coughed hard,he let his friend go and walked over to the edge of the cloud and coughed up tons of the crimson liquid before taking a huge gasp of air,he shook his head,looked over his shoulder and ran back to his friend,continuing to hug him tight.

Flash stopped crying momentarily as his friend stood up and rushed to the side of the cloud. He stared in astonishment at his very alive friend as he coughed and gagged. Drone rushed back to hug him amd at first Flash just sat there unmoving as he tried to process what just happened. His head had been gone. Like, gone. He shook his head and hugged his friend fiercely and said "You freaking jerk! You scared the hell out of me! Don't you ever do that to me again you hear!"

Drone cried softly on his shoulder,"I'm sorry...I'm so sorry...please please don't hate me like Dash does...please!"He cried to his friend,he kept hugging him extremely tight...had he ever had such an amazing friend?...I don't think so,even if he could remember more about his past,he wouldn't care,because he is his best friend,and if he cried over him so hard...he must be a true friend...he must really love him to be as good a friend as he is to Drone... (by love I mean friend love)

Flash got angry. He shoved his friend off of him and pinned him to the cloud. He leaned in close and growled "Drone! Get this through your head! I don't hate you. I never did and I never will. You just gotta stop believing nobody likes you, stop getting depressed, and don't ever try to kill yourself again or I will kill you myself. You got that?" He pulled him up into another hug and gripped him tightly, still furious at his friends stupdity.

Drone was surprised by his friend's outburst of anger at him,but he understood why he did,he closed his eyes and hugged him tighter and whispered to him,"I can't..."he whispered,he then cried into his friend more,he grit his teeth and said,"I'm sorry I'm so stupid..but...I-I don't know what came over me...it was like...a brand new me,I didn't have control!"he cried into his friend.

Flash held his friend, comforting him. He could feel the pain and need rolling off his friend in waves, but instead of fighting it this time he embraced it. "It's okay. I'm not gonna leave." Then something Drone had said registered in his brain. He put his hooves out and held Drone at armslength. "Wait a minute, why do you think Dash hates you?"

Drone blinked and wiped off his face a little before answering him,"...When I tried to apologize to her...sh-she...she just blew me off,saying,'Yeah,your just sorry you couldn't have more of me...' And I-I flew off..."he stated and quoted softly,he shook his head and softly rubbed his temple,"...blowing your own head off gives you a head ache from hell..."he said softly before waiting for another hug,somehow,when his friend hugged him...he felt more...calm...more at ease and protected...he didn't know why or how...it just did...and he couldn't explain it,he just knew he liked the feeling...

Just then Flash burst out laughing. He rolled around giggling hysterically, tears coming out of his eyes. He sat up chuckling and said "She really said that? That's classic. Oh I love her. And by the way she wasn't blowing you off. That's just how she is. That's her sense of humor. She doesn't hate you." He finished with a smile.

Drone raised an eyebrow as his face showed nothing but steel,he didn't even twitch his mouth in the slightest hint of a smile or giggle,he just stared at him,"Done yet?"he asked,"Good...I'll see you at the house then."he spread his wings and dove backwards and did a free-fall dive to the ground,they were in the middle of a field,so when he hit the ground,no one knew,his body was mangled and broken as a huge dust cloud stirred around him,he grumbled as he slowly got up,his bones breaking in place and healing as he spread his wings again and started flying to the house,he smiled ever so slightly as he started thinking about the incident with Dash,he then started laughing loudly,"I DID WANT MORE OF HER! HA!!!"He laughed hard before he finally stopped and wiped a tear out his eye.

Flash stopped laughing and looked at his friend in confusion. He felt the crunch as Drone hit the ground. He heard what he said as he flew away and he was more confused than ever. He sat there with his mind whirling. Was his friend secretly insane? He didn't know what to do. He simply sat there wanting to cry because he had no idea what was going on.

Drone looked behind him and thought a moment before flying back to his friend,"You comin'?"he asked in with a smile on his face,"You look confused...Look,I got over that thing about the joke,I started thinking about it,and you were right! It was funny..."he said with a smile,he then held out his hoof,"Come on."he said with an even larger smile.

Flash stared at his friend shrewdly. He was joking? He hesitantly took his friends hoof and allowed him to pull him into the sky. He tried to put his concerns away, and ignore his worries. "So your knot hitting on my marefriend?" he asked. He wanted to put at least some of his anxiety at ease.

Drone looked at him with a bright blush on his cheeks,"What?!"he asked,he asked that like he had asked him if he had had sex with her,"Are you joking? I would never!...I was just making a joke dude,calm your tits!"he laughed and flew while holding his hoof as he flew.

Flash sighed in relief. He smiled and said "Okay cool." He flew after his friend more happily knowing there was one less thing he had to worry about. He pushed himself faster, trying to see how fast he could go without his powers. He went faster and faster, reveling in the speed.

Drone smiled as he flew at his friends exact speed,he then looked at his friend and hoof bumped his friend,just then,he heard his stomach growl loudly and felt a pang of hunger,"You flanks made me miss lunch!....you owe me a lunch now."he said as he looked away like a snobby brat,he then looked back and pushed his friend softly,"Hey,I'll race ya."he said,flapping his wings a little faster.

Flash raised his eyebrows at Drone. Owe him lunch? Yeah right. It was Drone who tackled HIM. He smirked and said "When I beat you, you're gonna get ME lunch." He lit up and blasted off at full power. Lightning crackled all around him as he pushed himself to his limit. He knew this would hurt him but it would be worth it to beat drone.

Drone smiled,"deal."he then held his wings in one position a moment before he exploded forward with a sonic boom,he held one hoof forward and one to his side,he squinted his eyes as he soon cought up to his friend and he flapped again,he then flew ay his top speed,140 times the speed of sound,going aprox. 110,335 MPH he felt his body starting to quiver,but he still pushed off one more time,he saw the house and he tried to stop but he couldn't fast enough,so he slammed into the tree house with a loud crunch and twak sound.

Chrysalis was startled awake as she felt the shutter throughout the house.

Flash took a moment to be concerned for his friend before his own body spasmed in pain from the spent energy and his wings locked up. His muscles failed and he fell out of the sky. He went limp and waited half consciously for his body to hit the ground.

Drone recovered quickly and saw his friend falling,he gasped and flew after him,he caught him in mid air,he then looked concerned for his friend as he flew him back to the house,he flew in through the window and laid him in his bed,"You ok buddy?"He asked worriedly as Chrysalis quickly rushed up the stairs and watched Flash.

After strapping on the snow gear, Seth opened the back door to the EC-130J and he and his troops moved out. He walked out to Volts jet.

 

"You know, with all this snow, I feel right at home." Seth said, looking at the snowy plains. "Well, here is a tracking device for the remains of ion pulses." Seth handed a small tablet with a strobing light pointed in the direction of the decaying base. The wolf took out his own and called to his wolves.

 

"Ok. Fang, watch the crafts. I rather not walk home tonight. Vex, Hawk, take the far side of the base. Volt, you and I will go through the main entrance to fallow the tracks. Keep your eyes open everywolf...and everypony. Lets move before the plains freeze up."

 

Seth pulled out his DC-17 hand gun and walked towards the base.

Flash barely felt his friend catch him. He was in intense pain. The lastthought he had was how stupis he was for going full power. He slipped into unconsciousness. His breathing eased and his spasming stopped. His whole body slumped and relaxed as he was laid on the bed.
