Drone thought There ain't much else...in fact,that's all...I know I was not old...14 maybe..."he shrugged and looked at Doc a minute,his eyes showing he was telling the truth,he sighed and looked at his hooves again...why couldn't he remember?...why?...Why him?...Maybe he would find out soon...

Doc looked thoughtful for a moment and then he looked at Drone with a grim expression. He spoke slowly as he said "My guess is your father was a genius wartime tech scientist for Equestria. He got involved with some bad war criminals who were meddling with illegal weaponization and bio warfare and things like that. I imagine he had good intentions and he was trying to do good. Its possible he figured out what they were doing and refused to help any longer and they used you as incentive. I'm guessing they tortured you and your father found a way to help you escape and wipe your memories so you wouldnt remember and therefore you wouldnt be a threat." He looked softly at Drone. Then he said "Of course I could be wrong."

Drone looked down a moment and blinked a couple times...Could...he really be just...a weapon?...An experiment?.He looked back up at Doc and said,his voice sounding like he had been shot it had so much pain in it,"That...couldn't...no...
I-I can't be just an experiment...could I?"he looked at his hooves and closed his eyes,he had to know for sure..."I need your help,Doc,Firebrand,Flash...I...I don't know how...but...I have to find out for sure...do you have a computer?"he asked,slowly getting out of his fluffy chair.

Doc looked impatient for a moment. "I never said you were an experiment or a weapon. But I guess we could add that to the theory." he said thoughtfully tapping his chin. Flash rolled his eyes and said "Yeah, the computers this way." He got up led the way to Doc's chemistry lab at the back of the house. Firebrand followed behind and Doc came more slowly still lost in his thoughts.

Drone looked at the computer and took off his backpack,he opened it and pulled out a disk,he opened the computer and inserted the disk,he waited a second before a password was in order,he typed in five digits..ANGEL...and he pressed enter,there was a moment before the password was accepted,he then saw a file and looked at the various things that the military held from the public,like the war time untested bombs and such,he sighed and looked through personal files,he looked at a file that said,"SECURITY LEVEL-TOP SECRET"he blinked and opened it,he found his name among a list of others,he stopped a moment and said,"...Hopefully this thing has SOMETHING on me...Oh,and Doc,about that me being part of a weapon thing,I was testing to see if you paid attention,and what you said,about war criminals and experiments...Wouldn't I be one,based on your theory?"he asked,but shook his head,"Bah,nevermind.."he opened the file and read thins...

Sentinel Drone,we found him in a raid against the changelings...he was,well...knocked out...and he was just in an abandoned laboratory,nothing there but him strapped to a table...he was stitched up,and when we did some tests...he had no pulse...of course I,the medic,did CPR,and he came back,but he didn't remember anything,but the strangest thing is...I swear he had no heart...even after he came back,I felt his chest,nothing...His stitches were right up the middle of his body,we took him out,and got the FUCK outta dodge...that place gave me the fuckin' creeps...and the kid...all he remembered was his name...I don't know what they did to him in there..but I can tell you one thing...it was not supposed to happen to any living being...no matter what,even a changeling...

Drone stared at the file a little longer before sitting back in his chair and looking at the keyboard,"..."he was...shocked,he knew he was in a lab,but a CHANGELING lab?!...ok,he had to find this place now,maybe,just maybe,the scenery would stir up some memories,or something...hopefully.

Flash looked at his friend in concern. He was clearly shocked at something. "Did you find something?" he asked. Doc sat there expressionless while Firebrand looked on with polite concern, as quiet as ever. As patient as Flash was, the anticipation was killing him. He wanted to know just as badly as Drone.

Sentinel slowly got out of the chair and said to Flash,"...just read it yourself..."he said,he slowly walked into the other room,he put his face in his hooves and felt something churning up inside him,hate,anger,and an even more ferocious drive to make him find out who the hell he was,or what he was.

Flash and Doc rushed forward to read the screen. Firebrand got up amd followed Sentinel. He sat down right next to him and didn't say a word. He just stared calmly at the wall. As Flash read his face turned pale as his expression became one of horror. Doc's eyebrows shot up and he touched his chin with his hoof. Then his brow furrowed and he said "Hmmm. Very interesting."

Sentinel raised his face and looked at the ground,he said to Firebrand,"...Do you want to help me find out who I am?"he asked him,not looking at him,instead,looking at his hooves yet again,now that he knew at least what place to look,he could find something,maybe the lab wouldn't be too hidden...

Firebrand didn't look at the pony next to him. After a second he said "Everypony has the right to know who they are. Whether good or bad." Then he looked at him and said "And don't panic about Doc's theory. He is normally really good at figuring things out, but he doesn't have a lot to go on. So he could be wrong. But if he is right, just remember that remembering your past doesn't change your present or your future. It's jist a memory in the past. It might bring you peace or pain. Closure or questions. But who you are is what you decide to be. Your future is what you make it. And it's always a little easier if you have friends." He closed his eyes in a friendly smile. He spoke calmly and quietly. There was a soothing quality to his voice. "And I would be honored to help you with your quest."

Drone sighed softly,taking all of his kind words in to heart,he looked back up to Firebrand and said,"Thank you Firebrand...I thank you for coming with me on this journey,and being one of my very few friends."he said,he smiled slightly and looked at the other room.

Firebrand gave a small smile and turned to look at the wall again. Flash and Doc walked in, Flash with a pale dumbfounded expression as he stared at Drone and Doc with a curious almost hungry expression on his face. He gazed at Drone with a burning interest. Flash came fully into the room and sat down heavily, speechless.

Drone looked at Flash a moment and said to them all,"Well...can I count you all in as to finding out who or what I truly am?"he asked,his face showed nothing but pure desire to know who he truly was,because he wanted to know if he could live with himself,or if he...he would...take his final breath...

The three friends looked at each other and nodded. They looked back at Drone with small smiles. Flash said "You don't even have to ask me my friend." Firebrand smiled and said "Any friend of Flash is a friend of mine. I'll help however I can." Doc had a very guarded look on his face, but there was a strange look in his eyes. "I suppose I should help out too."

Listening on the calls from the carrier to the crafts, Seth sat back in the cockpit. 

 

'two down, two to go.' He thought. Noticing the lack of ponies at the runway, Seth thought of an idea.

 

"Lonewolf to Atlantic, how copy?"

 

"We copy loud and clear. What is your request, Lonewolf?" 

 

"Two things, patch me into the full battlenet and and give me a sat feed of and air traffic exceeding normal parameters in this surrounding area."

 

"Roger, you have access to the net and the display should be sent to your transport."

 

Seth signed off from the comm channel and brought up the layout of the surrounding land with icons displaying the anomalies. Finding the two he wanted, he tracked both Drone and Flash as they went along their path from the airbase to... a cloud house, then they both went to a large structure not too far from here. Powering up the four main thrusters, Seth flew the Continental to the building, landing in the grass field. Extending the passenger ramp, Seth walked out and towards the door.

Drone smiled slightly,"Thank you guys,so...shall we go to the changelings?"he asked,he slowly got up and walked to the door,he stopped and said,"...I'll leave my armor here...I don't want to make myself too big of a target..."he said,taking off his metallic backpack and pressing a button and his backpack made a hissing sound before it had a red flash of light around the zippers before he looked to Flash,"Come on guys...we have a long flight ahead of us..."he said,opening the door to see Seth.

Seth, just about to knock on the door, was a little surprised.

 

"H-hey guys. Just thought I would pick up anything you needed. I didn't want you to have to lug it all out to the airport when I was going to fly this giant around anyway." Seth said in a sheepish grin. He really didn't want to admit to spying on them, but he basically did. Gesturing to the Continental, "Well, are we ready to go" Trying to change the subject.

 

This thing has the length and width of a 2 houses by 1.5 houses.

Drone blinked at him and narrowed his eyes,"How would you know I was going anywere?...You are one terrible liar..."he said,and sighed,"Listen...If you wanna come along,you cannot have that behemoth along for the ride...this is a stealth mission,which is why I'm not bringing my armor."he said,looking at his friend.

Seth knew he was caught, but tried to play out of it still.

 

"This giant was to get cargo to the carrier. The plan was to get everyone aboard the submersible aircraft carrier, we would break a hole in the ice and pop up before the changelings knew what hit them. The base is built into the ice, so we could basically go right under it and not be detected. Also, this is my mission, I just asked if you wanted to join in. My mission, my ride."

Sentinel's face turned hostile as he bared his teeth,"This is MY mission...I'm going to find out about my past...I'm giving you one last chance to leave the ship here,or that hunk of metal will be nothing but a scrap heap."he said,he walked past him,nothing would get in the way of his mission,not even a wolf with a mega-ship.

Seth was a little taken back by the pony's anger. He didn't want to fight with him, let alone hurt whatever might be going on between the others he had intruded on. Slightly unsure how to respond, Seth spoke in an unsure manner.

 

"Oh, ok? You can go ahead I guess. I'm not stopping you. By all means you are free to go." Seth said in a shaky tone.

 

'What was that about his past?' He thought, turning to the ponies in the building.

Sentinel sighed,thinking about what he had said,he then turned to him and said,"Listen..I'[m sorry I snapped at you,but...this is very important to me...and I don't want anyone to mess this mission up,I want to know who I am..."he said,looking apologetic to his wolfy friend.

Flash walked with Firebrand after Drone, giving an apologetic smile at Seth. Doc stayed where he was and watched them leave. He looked curiously at the wolf. What was going on here? Doc didn't feel like trying to deduce this one, he wanted to wait and see what happened. Flash turned around and said "Doc you coming." He shook his head and said "No Im going to stay and help from here." He tossed his two friendsan earpiece, HUD, a pack and he tossed Firebrand a mysterious object that looked somewhat like a toolbelt.

Drone blinked and looked at the things he was given,he put in the ear piece and left the HUD off,he walked forward and spread his wings,"To the Changeling kingdom."he said,he pushed off with his powerful wings,he looked at the direction the kingdom was in and he sped up instantly,he reached a couple machs and just cruised,he didn't want to leave his friends behind too far.

Flash put on the pack and the earpiece, and then he fit the HUD visor over his eyes, while Firebrand did likewise and also strapped on his mysterious belt. Flash grabbed hold of his crimson friend and took off after Drone. He came up level with him, holding tight to Firebrand. The red pony looked over at Sentinel and called out through the jetstream "So. Looks like you've got the two most dangerous of the elements of nature on your six." Flash cuffed his friend on the head and when Firebrand looked up, Flash gave the red pony a meaningful lok, telling him to be quiet.
