Doc nodded. He was beginning to like this Eclipse. Now he just needed to remember not to say anything stupid. He adjusted the goggles on his forehead and turned his attention to the path ahead of them. They were entering the forest now. Doc's excitement mounted. This was going to be fun.

Atlas watched the group walk into the forest from a good distance. Now was the time to move. He flew to his opening in the wood and began to fly at his top speed. His speed had certainly dropped with his age but he was still fairly fast. While it should take the explores a day to get to the ruins it would take him a matter of hours. Atlas flew just above the trees so he could get his top speed but not get noticed. He soon arrived at the ruins and his camp. The small encampment was hidden away in the ruins so that nopony entering the ruins would see it.

Now he just had to wait and make preparations. He dug through his tent that acted as his study. He pulled out a huge and ancient book.

He opened it and double checked if he had what he needed. With these new group coming he would. Now to wait.

 

Equestria was about to dawn on a new age with Atlas ushering it in.

 

OOC:Well that's the last of Atlas for awhile. Now i will be controlling the forest.

OOC: don't let the fact Atlas is at the ruins hurry you up. You guys will start at the beginning of the Everfree. It just did that to get Atlas out of the way. Now I have to actually post something because the forum rules says so... (Grumble) more of Atlas!

Atlas woke up. It was late at night. He sighed and got out of his cot. Time to get to work. He wouldn't get any sleep with the spirits pestering him.
"This is almost over" he said in a normal speaking voice.
"You will not be forgotten for your sacrifices. Remmber that" he kept walking until he got to ancient building converted into a makeshift laboratory. Atlas put on his gas mask located in a table in the one room building. The walls were ordained with ancient drawings many of which dipicted strange two legged creatures. Atlas had planned to research them once this was all over. Signs and pictures if them were everywhere in Equestria. He shakes the thought of the creatures out of his mind and began to work. He mixed some fluids and put it into a container. After which he placed it will three other containers of the same shape and size. Atlas quilled turned around.
"Oh dear Celestia! Shut up!" He paused
"This will all be seen out in time! You'll see" he paused once more.
"In done with you. You may not see the light now but you will! Oh yes you will!" He continued to storm off and go check on his camouflage of the camp and traps. Once this was done he went back to bed.
"It's about time you all calm down. Let the others sleep" he called out of the tent.
Atlas drifted off to sleep.

OOC: now Atlas is done! I have given you enough foreshadowing and such. You won't see him again until you reach the ruin.
OOC: I'm using a phone right now so I don't know what's going on with my post up there. It should be two septet posts and they were done hours apart so yeah... Post with a computer not you iPhone. I went forward into the forest with doc and eclipse in tow i was getting bored so i pulled out my m3 trench knife and slashed the air a few times to practice "so guys got any stories to tell to kill the time?" I then sheathed my knife and looked over to the others.

Doc was jerked out of his toughts as Snake broke the silence. They had been walking through the forest for only a few minutes. He realized he had let his mind stray. He silently scolded himself as he tried to process what the other pony had said. "Oh, I probbly don't have anything as exciting to talk about as what you guys have done. I'm just a scientist." Doc said modestly.

Seth kept his eyes on the surroundings, always looking for any potential threat. "I have a few old tails of war that I picked up over the years, but I doubt you want to listen about wolves killing ponies and vice versa." Seth commented with a half-hearted laugh.

I carried on threw the forest with the others in tow i had been in a fight with a few wolves myself and i had killed my fair share of ponies too i looked over to eclipse "we will have to swap war stories some time at the next campfire?" I then looked to doc "so what do you do then as a scientist doc?"

Doc was slightly taken aback that a pony like snake would be interested in his work. "We'll, all kinds of stuff really. Mostly inventing new things like spells and potions and contraptions, and cures for various illnesses. I also do a lot of research, just to learn more about the world around us and how it works. I do a lot of experiments. I get my inspiration from my fathe-" He quickly shut his mouth. He hadn't meant to say that.

I looked over to doc full of hope "you create cures for illness huh do you have a cure for radiation poisoning by chance I could really use that if you have it if not I'm still doomed I know its a strange request but I blame the Canterlot Intelligence Agency for my condition"

Seth, expecting the continuation of the story, turned to the pony.

 

"...and" he started, but then realized what the problem was. The unicorn saw something. His eyes darted from branch to branch. "Where? Where is it?" He asked in a hushed voice. He noticed a small den of spiders, but that was the only thing that seemed dangerous to him.

Doc turned from the pony to the wolf. He did a quick scan of the area and saw nothing out oh the ordinary. Looking back at the wolf he said "What's wrong? Do you sense something?" He looked around again carefully, trying to pinpoint the source of Eclipse's nervousness.

Seth turned to the pony.

 

"Didn't you see something? You trailed off there for a sec. Back in the army, that meant that something was up." Seth replied, still keeping his eyes to the trees. "Plus, in this forest, you always want to keep an eye out. I haven't't been in these woods too often but if the tails hold wind, then there is a reason for my paranoia."

Doc blushed and looked down in embarrassment. "Oh. No I just almost started talking about something I don't really want to talk about." He turned to Snake and changing the subject he said "Radiation poisoning huh?" He looked at the pony with curiosity and said "That's somewhat of a doozy, but it's no problem. That's easy compared to some other things I've cured. Of course it's harder when you don't figure it out in time." He looked away in grief for a moment before turning back to the pony with a smile.

I had a look of glee on my face "Really if you could make me a cure for radiation poisoning then I would owe you big time" I looked at the wolf and unsheathed my knife and also started scanning the forest with eclipse there wasn't really anything that seems dangerous "hey eclipse you sure there is something there I can't see anything out there mate maybe we should carry on"

Seth began to walk again.

 

"Sorry, it's just wolven paranoia mixed with a demented forest. I guess the doc tripped me off a bit. Although I can't get rid of the feeling that something is amiss here..." Seth said, continue to give a passive eye to his path ahead.

 

"By the way doc, have you any theories on artificial gravity? A few tecks back at the empire would love to get their hands on some real physics-breaking teck from Equestria to update our science program." Seth called over to the doctor.

Doc scoffed as he said "Give me a hard one. Have you ever heard of pegastone? It's a natural rock that seems magically float on its own. But in reality, it's just magnetic and susceptible to ionic charge changes. Most ponies don't really think about it but I figures out a way to purify it and make it into a forgeable ore that you can change from negative to positive charge to float or attach yourself to other surfaces. The prospects are numerous." he finished excitedly.

Alright time for the first event!

You have entered and are right in the middle of an area owned by a strong timber wolf pack. I know Seth is a wolf and he could smell their scent but go with it. This area is also the anceint battleground of one of the skirmishes between the pegusi and the unicorns back before they were united. I don't care a battle isn't lore friendly! I mean come on he was named Commander Hurricane.@@WhiteGuardian,@@arkman575,@,

"Well looks like we've got a certified genius in our mists you ever make any weapons of war doc" I looked over to eclipse "its ok eclipse every one gets edgy every now and then besides if you've fought in a war then it becomes a part of you I always had to watch out for sharpshooters they could blend in so well with the jungle I was in it was unnatural" I snap my head to the side I heard a twig snap there is something following us "guys were not alone out here"

Stopping for a few seconds, the slightly bewildered wolf looked at the unicorn.

 

"Interesting...Ok, have ponies been able cool the process of atomic fusion?" Seth asked again, getting more and more intrigued. 'If he says yes, I'm definitely sending the specs back to the empire. This would revolutionist wolf ki-'

 

Seth stopped, noticing a light in the clearing ahead of them. His expression changes from 'giddy scientist' to 'stowick hunter'.

Doc stopped and stiffened. That slight odor in the air. "Is that ligna lupum? Guys we might be in trouble." 'Primary tactic, sneak up behind and pounce.' He turned around and looked into the bushes behind them, preparing for the worst. He didn't like the look of this. It took a lot to turn a timber wolf from the hunt.

Seeing the threat, Seth unstrapped the packs. He cracked his neck joints and prepared for a fight with his mutant brethren. The wolf took a aggressive stance and gave a fierce growl. 'If these twigs have any common sense, they will turn away before I decide to make a campfire.' He thought, already planning the skirmish out in his mind. This is going to be too easy.

I turned to the pack of wolves behind us a growl at them while I un sheath my combat knife and take up a combat stance "guys I count at least 7 there is proberly more as well further back so guys fight or flight I say we fight and make matchsticks out of them you in eclipse"

Seth watched as the pack slowly approach, not asking a hint from both attempts at growling. "As a wolf, I am sworn never to attack my fellow kin. However, these monstrosities are no wolf. I'll take the two on the left. Snack, take the to to the right. Doc, you got the middle two. If anypony wants a second helping, go for the remainder." Seth barked, readying to pounce. "On your call, Snake."

Doc's mind was racing. What would he do? Finally his eyes lit up with an idea. He slowly levitated his bag over to him keeping is eyes on the approaching timber wolves. Opening the flap he pulled out a long thin rod. The rod started to glow with blue magic and he smirked at the creatures. 'Come and get it' he thought.

I eyed the two on the right and smiled "right doc If you need help call me or eclipse should be able to help now go" I charge to the right and stick my knife straight threw one of the timber wolves head and I kick out and catch the other one on the snout "who dares wins firewood"

Doc laughed at Snake's words and ran forward towards the two in the middle. The wolves pounced at him but he jabbed out with the metal rod he was holding. Whirling around he hit both of the wolves on the head and then stood up straight. The wolves froze for a moment and then fell apart into pieces. Doc smiled as he watched his partners finish off the others.
