DarkestAbsol 5 January 22, 2014 Share January 22, 2014 I decided to get some practice drawing ponies. I'm not quite sure the muzzle looks quite "male" enough, though. Can I get a critique of this drawing, please?
Onylex 2,838 January 22, 2014 Share January 22, 2014 (edited) Its a good start but, I would suggest studying proportions. Also I find the best way to define a male character is to exaggerate an angular jaw and nozzle/nose. Edited January 22, 2014 by Onylex

DarkestAbsol 5 January 22, 2014 Author Share January 22, 2014 Thanks! And now that I look at it, the hind legs are a bit skinny. Is that what was meant by proportions? I'll post an updated version in a bit.
Hibiscus Bloom 91 January 22, 2014 Share January 22, 2014 I would say, the legs do look a little on the thin side - but you've got a nice style. I like the head, especially the ears. His expression is cute :3 Meet Hibiscus Bloom! Other OCs: Dice Venom, Wildscar, Cocoa Pod, Elixir
DarkestAbsol 5 January 22, 2014 Author Share January 22, 2014 And the altered version! I thickened the hind legs to make them less skinny and more proportionate compared to the front legs, and played with the neck. I also added a neck tie. TheQContinuum 9 January 22, 2014 Share January 22, 2014 I Like the Idea, And his facial expression really sells it. The thing I would work on is the hocks. Those are the sticky outy bits on a horses back legs. They're kinda like knees. Without any definition on the hocks, he's gonna look like he has noodles for legs, no matter how thick you make them. Good work though, keep it up!
Blue Symphony 24 January 22, 2014 Share January 22, 2014 This is great! The only critique I have is the muzzle, and maybe the upper torso. It's not quite as bulky as I would picture it, Here's an example of what I mean. Blue Symphony
