It was a dark time. The Tyrant, King Sombra, has returned. His power growing as the days go on. The Celestial Sisters have been encased in stone, along with Discord. The Crystal empire is in shambles and rumble. Its royals imprisoned within Canterlot dungeons. But this tyrant is not alone. At his side is his Queen. The Queen of the changelings, Chrysalis. With their power, they have taken the seat of power over the land and have thrown the balance out of sync.

 

But, there is hope. The new Princess Twilight and her Friends must use a spell that will summon a great warrior in their darkest hour. But what she doesn't realize is that she is getting, not one, but two warriors. Will these two save the land of Equestria, or will they burn along with it?

 

Ponyville; 8:56 pm.

 

The mane six were gathered in Twilight's Library, discussing on how to save their home. Twilight was vigorously looking through her books in search of a solution. Pinkie was trying to calm Fluttershy in the corner. Applejack and Rainbow Dash were Preparing for a fight. And Rarity was siply trying to keep cool. Minutes past as Twilight had found a glimmer of hope. Legend foretells the coming of a great warrior brought to a far off land, brought to them through the elements of harmony.

 

With a sliver of hope restored, the six took their position on a circle to bring forth their savior. Twilight began to focus her magic and with a faint glow, the space they encircled began to give way to a shining light. And with a flash, the spell was complete. But what they found surprised them. before their hooves lye two beings they did not recognize...

"What? Um, um, um, what the hell is this?" Rex looked around at his environment, he had just been watching tv on his couch /!: then he started to glow and mysteriously ended up here

(Applejack) "Uh Twi, what exactly was that spell you casted?"

(Twilight) Twilight was feeling very faint from casting that spell "It was a summoning spell" she murmured

Rarity:"Well, what ever it is you summoned. They are quite... interesting." Rarity sait the final word as if she had something bitter on her tongue.

Pinkie:" Whatever they are. They look super-duper weird." The pink one bounced around eyeing them up and down. She reached the still unconscious one. "Twilight, I think this one is dead."
The others gasped in fear. The butter yellow one approached and gently checked his vitals.

Fluttershy: "Its not dead. He's just sleeping."
The group sighed in relief. The unconscious one finally arose from his slumber. Looking around groggily, he stood above the ponies and began to stretch. He looked around and looked to the small group of ponies before him in utter confusion.

"Uh, hi."

Rex vomited his lunch, "Damn, how did I get here? Why am I here?" Rex stepped off the circle of magic

(Twilight) "I summoned you because I need your help, this entire world needs your help"

(Applejack) "This world has been torn apart by evil and hatred, nations been split apart, and legend has it you can help us"

I can't help you I'm an ordinary guy, I don't even know how to fight"

They all looked at each other "We can teach you"

"Pfffffffffffftt, uh flattered, but no, I think I'd rather stick to my normal life, thank ya very much"

(Twilight) l don't know how to send you back"

"What?" Rex asked with wide eyes

"yeah. I concur, what exactly do you mean you can't send us back?

They all looked to each other. Rarity was the one to speak up to explain what was going on.

"Well you see, the spell that brought you here was a one way trip. You are stuck here until further notice."
"Okay. I uh.... don't know what to make of this actually."
He sat on the ground, letting the news sink in.

"Look we're sorry, but we had to. The book foretold of your coming in a time of shadow. We wouldn't do this unless we had to. It's just... we were only supposed to have one of you."
"Do you mind telling us your name, please?"

He looked up to the white unicorn.

"Aaron. My name is Aaron."

"Son of a Bitch!" He mutters under his breathe, of all the things to happen to him today this, this! Of course had to happen to him, stuck in some messed up world, he read lots of books about unexpected heroes journeying to a new land, he was learning about it in his literature class, but this had no formula! No pattern! There was no crisis upon his world it was a world he didn't know of at all

"I'm not telling you my name, because I don't plan to be here long, so just tell me what you want me to do and I'll do it"

They all looked at each other with a blank expression "Wait, wait you don't even have a plan? Are you kidding me?"

(Rainbow Dash) "Well the first thing we needed to do was get help because we didn't have a plan in the first place"

Rex looked at them astonished, "Great, this is just fucking awesome! I'm stuck here with pony's telling me I'm some kind of legendary warrior sent here to free their land of hatred and evil!"

Rex was downright angry now, they had brought him here without his permission and didn't even have a plan when he got there?!

Aaron looked over the ponies. They seemed to be desperate.

"You must understand. This was also an accident."

"Yeah. We were only supposed to get one..."

"Human."
"Thanks. One human to save us. We're really super-duper sorry about that you got sucked into this. We don't know if you were supposed to be here."
These ponies were desperate. Summoning them here like this.

"What exactly is wrong here?"

The butteryellow one looked to him.

"I-Its a scary king that has overthrown our princesses. He's really mean and he has destroyed countless lives and... and..."
She was on the verge of tears. He leaned down to comfort her.

(((So sorry I fell asleep)))

"I think I'm high, right now, I mean I've got to be, this is insane! You realize this don't you Aaron? This has to be some sort of trick?, or maybe a dream I could be dreaming, I mean it makes sense though doesn't it?"

(Rainbow Dash) "No this is 100% legitimately real, and we need your help"

(Applejack) "Rainbows telling the truth, we need your help please"

"Considering the fact you don't even have a plan, sorry I don't think so, I don't have remorse, there plenty problems in this galaxy whatever! Your is probably the least on the order of problems right now, I'm sorry but you really haven't given me anything to believe in"

The ponies looked distraught, they probably were expecting someone along the lines of there species.

Aaron was pondering the situation. He was in a world not his own and it was in serious trouble. These equine have turned all their faith and what little hope they had into these strangers.

"Well ladies. I-It looks like its over. We have exhausted our possible ways to fight back. Guess we better pack it in."
Aaron saw their faces. Each one looked like their worlds had imploded right before their eyes. If he was going to a resident of this world, he might as well make it livable. And it turns out that this king must go.

"...I'll help."

Aaron looked up to them, looking into their surprised faces.

"I'll help you. I'm not a warrior, but I will try to free this land. If I'm going to be a resident here, I might as well make it better. Whether it's a dream or not."
Their faces grew a bit brighter. The pink one flung herself and rapped her arms around Aaron.

"Thankyouthankyouthankyou!"

"You don't know what you just agreed to do you?" asked Rex, "Your putting their faith into you! A stranger with no combat skills, do you know how stupid that is. We can't help them were human, and even if we could where would we start?"

(Applejack)"Well we are going to need to find an army"
"An army?" Rex replied "An army of what pony's?" Rex sighed, he'd have to get used to this, or they could be lying just so Rex would have no other choice then help them, but what choice did he really have?
"I'll help as well, but I'm still not giving you my name"
(Twilight)"Well what if we need to call you"
Rex thought about something they could call him "Just call me Siris"
They nodded
"Who are we going to recruit first" Rex asked to the crowd of pony's

Prying the Pink mare from his body so he may get some words in.

"I may not know what I'm getting myself into, but I never turned down someone who has needed my help. Now who are we gathering for this army.

"Well, we would probably gather what little of the royal guard that is still around. We would also need to travel to the neighboring towns and other kingdoms. The Gryphons, Diamond Dogs. Maybe the Dragons if possible."

'Charles Darwin is twirling in his grave right about now.'

"Alright. That's a start. When shall we start our journey?
"I would suggest in the morning. Gives us time to party for our new warriors."

"Or... gives us some time to rest."
"That sounds nice actually."

"I think we need to discuss the fact that neither of us our trained to fight, despite the fact I know rudimentary combat skills, that won't be enough to fight a dark army, I think we should get weapons first to defend ourselves, I'm good with a knife something, do you have anything lying around here, anything?"

They all looked at each other

(Applejack)"Twi, what 'bout dat armory down the road?"

(Twilight)"That's way to risky, troops are stationed all over the place"

"I'll go, honestly I couldn't care less if I get harmed, just show me which direction and i'll go check it out, I won't try to get into any confrontation and if I do, well I run pretty fast, and i'm good at hiding as well"

(Twilight)"That's suicide you can't go alone"

"I don't see anyone else volunteering, unless you have some other way of getting a weapon?"

"I might as well go. Twilight. I need you to bring me a book on pony anatomy. I could use that later."

Aaron got up and began to walk to the door, but...

"Absolutely not! One of you must stay here. We can't loose the both of you. Siri, You should be safe out there under the cover of the night. The armory is on the northern part of town. You should be able to tell it apart from the others."

Sitting down, Twilight brought the books he wanted. Luckily they were in English... for some reason.

"Siri, be careful, okay."

Rex opened the door and looked outside, he closed the door before he said anything. "Holly crap" Everything was in ruins, homes tarnished, statues in pieces. The clouds were dark, plants all around Rex looked like they hadn't been watered in weeks, perhaps months! Who would ever want to live in such a dreary place? But then again what choice did they have, it probably looked like this everywhere. He looked around for something, a piece of glass, a rusty knife. But there was nothing, everything was probably grabbed. Rex sighed and started walking what he believed was north. He couldn't see anything from where he was which meant that he'd probably have to go pretty far.

(Applejack)"You think he'll make it dat far?" Applejack questioned

(Rainbow Dash)"Well, he said he did know how to fight a little bit, which means he won't be totally unprotected"

"Ah, don't worry. He'll be fine."
As the three watched Siris, Aaron was studying the book on pony anatomy. Specifically the nervous system. He looked through it at all the weak spots. After he had them memorized, he closed the book and went to the kitchen for some water. His throat was dry. He got into the kitchen and turned the faucet. Yet there was no water.

"I wouldn't bother. The water was cut off weeks ago. I would suggest the lake, but it dried up a while back."
"Hm. Unfortunate. How have you all survived this long?"

"Oh. We were living off of reserves for a while. After a while, our friends left town. Their isn't anypony else here. Just... us. We barely have a enough to live for the six of us for another five weeks if were lucky."

Aaron began to ponder this. These creatures have been living on barely anything, just trying to survive.

"When Siris gets back, gather the others. I think we should move from this place."
Aaron began to walk out.

"And thank you, Miss..."
"Fluttershy."
"Thank, Fluttershy."

Rex walked for what seemed like hours, but Rex assumes he was just being melodramatic, he then came across his first enemies. Pony's of course? Both with a horn? Unicorn he thought. They both had a spear, Rex looked around them, a tree to the left, a rock to the right. Rex kept pondering, I could try to take them out, probably fail or try to make my way around them. He picked up a small rock, and threw it to the left of them, they turned their head to the left and started to stray from the dirt path, Rex took the opportunity and ran for it but keeping crouched and moving silently. It was dark they didn't see him at all, hopefully Rex was close now, he hoped he wouldn't have any other encounters.

Aaron was sitting on the couch. Waiting for Siris to return. While he did he could feel something next to him. It was the white unicorn.

"Hello."
"Hi."
She just looked at Aaron, the awkward levels rising fast.

"I just wanted to say, thank you for helping us."
"Think nothing of it miss..."

"Rarity."
"Rarity. And what of the others?"

"Well. That one over there is Pinkie Pie..."
She pointed each out one by one, Aaron trying to memorize them.

He'd only had one other confrontation, one of which he just barely escaped with his life. He was at the end of town, but nothing of the sort of an armory he was about to give up and turn back when something caught his eye, a shield with a sword on it, and another sword looks like it should have been there but wasn't. The doors looked like they had been blasted open, someone tried to get there in a hurry. He walked in the entrance, he saw bodies of others pony's lying on bye ground, he gagged but had nothing left to throw up. He got himself together and ignored the corpses but the stench was putrid, he tried his best to breathe out of his nose. He walked down a hallway which lead to some lockers, lockers with a few shotguns in them! "Thank god" he muttered he picked one up from the shelf. Rex pumped the shotgun, it wasn't loaded he looked around and found some ammo laying on the ground along with a few bullets which looked like they were for a revolver. They had basic weaponry which shocked Rex on so many levels. He put the shells into his shotgun, he had fired guns before but never at a living target. He looked for some basic hand to hand weapons. He walked into a room which looked like it would have some handheld weapons, surely enough he was right, then he saw it, a sword in a display case along with a sheathe but only one, what luck. He opened the case and slung the sheathe over his back, it was heavy. There were a few more shotguns and small pistols, along with police batons or something of the sort. He found a raggedy saddle and though he could use it to carry stuff either way, he stuffed some slugs into it along with a pistol or two, he would tell the others and come back here to pick up some more stuff, he walked off and made his way back to the library, this time being able to fight off any who might want a fight.

"Okay, so that's Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Twilight Sparkle."

"Indeed."

"And... that's Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy."

That is correct again, Aaron."
"Which makes you Rarity."
"You catch on quick."
Aaron gave her a nod and a small smile.He began to look around the room. Pinkie and Rainbow looked board, Twilight was reading a book, Applejack was with Fluttershy talking. Aaron didn't know what though. He was about to speak up but was interrupted by a loud pounding at the door.

 

The girls jumped at the interruption of silence. Twilight went over to go check who it could be. Her expression became fearful. She waved me to go and hide, and Aaron did so. What came in was what looked like two armored, insect like ponies holding spears. Aaron couldn't hear what they were saying. Something about a strange light. Focusing on their position, Rarity came in and began to converse.

"The strange light, oh it was just a lantern exploding. We were startled, but we got it settled before a fire started."
The armored pony looked around investigative. Seeing the scorch marks on the floor may have helped Rarities lie.

They gave a nod and they were on their way, and the group gave a sigh in relief.

Two large thuds were heard followed by two slashes, after a sliding sound was heard for a little bit till it ended at the back of the house. Rex came in and looked at everyone. They were looking at Rex with wide eyes, "what they didn't even see me coming, I found a lot of stuff". Rex pulled out two shotguns and two revolvers, along with a few slugs and bullets they were laid out on the floor, "There's a lot more" Rex added "But this was only what I could carry" He motioned towards his back, "I found this sword but there was only one". He watched everyone look at the scattered weapons.

"Excellent. But I suggest we carry light. We'll have to leave this town soon. I suggest we gather what we can, and get going. before dawn breaks."
Group looked to each other, discussing what Aaron said. After a few seconds they turned back and nodded in agreement.

"If were going to leave, I suggest we gather what little food we can. Aaron, I'm going to need your help with this.

"Alright then. The rest of you can see what else you can find and maybe a destination for us to travel."
"Be careful, Aaron. The changelings are not to be underestimated."
"I shall, Rarity."
Aaron and Fluttershy left for the back door. Aaron was not one for guns, however. Aaron found a mop. Breaking the cloth off, he had a bow staff at the ready. The pony and human were off.

"You pony's don't know how to handle a gun do you?" They all nodded there head in agreement, "Alright well, your going to have to learn how, anyone, anyone come on don't be shy"

A blue Pegasus stepped up first, "hello there what's your name?" Rex asked politely

(Rainbow Dash)"Rainbow Dash" she replied triumphantly, "Fastest flier in Equestria"

'So that's what they call this place, Equestria' he thought

"So what do you hold a weapon with" Rex asked curiously

Rainbow spread out her left wing, "Awesome" Rex picked up a small revolver and handed it to Rainbow

She grabbed out carefully from Rex's hand

"Obviously right now you can't shoot it, but I'll teach you how to reload and aim" and with that lessons began

Aaron and Fluttershy walked through the decimated town. Passing by the ruins of what was once a quaint little town. Aaron was looking around as to not pass any opposition. Holding the mop stick in a defensive position. They eventually came to what looked like a farm. Rows upon rows of dead trees blanketed the land. Fluttershy couldn't bare to look at it. So they just passed it in silence. The two eventually came to a burned down cottage, and Fluttershy started to develop tears in her eyes. Moving closer to the ruble, Aaron could hear a small whimper.

"A-All right. L-L-Lets just... get what we need and go."

Not bothering, Aaron went inside to look for something of use to them, while Fluttershy remained outside.

"Come on Twilight this should be easy for you, you have like Unicorn magic"

Twilight tried her best to use her magic to pull the trigger in the unloaded gun and get it to be steady, a task which seemed should have been easy but faired quite challenging for the pony's.

"Honestly I really don't have any advice for magic users except keep trying" Rex wondered how long this journey would turn out to be , between getting out of this desiccated town, along with recruiting other species, Rex thought this would be the most challenging part of the journey. He wanted to leave as soon as possible, earlier they began the earlier they got to go home.

Aaron was searching through the wreckage for anything of value. With luck the fridge looked to be intact, with the exception of a few scorch marks. Lifting it up, he opened it to find some bread, still in the packaging. Grabbing the two loaves, he began to look through the cottage for anything else. This place held a grate sadness to it. What ever it was, Aaron didn't want to know. He had searched every inch of the cottage, and began to make his way to Fluttershy."
"Help!"

He heard that cry for help in the distance and made his way to it. Down below, Aaron saw two of the so called changelings approaching Fluttershy. Getting his staff ready, Aaron snuck up behind them and prepared for a sneak attack. All the while listening to the changelings.

"Noponies coming for you. So scream all you want."
Fluttershy was cowering before them in fear. Aaron was almost behind them.

Hardshell, can't we just drain her, this town is almost barren and we haven't eaten in days. Why Sombra wants us to guard this town is beyond me."

"We guard it, because we were told to. Now, lets dine on this little one and get back to our post... Skitter? Skitter are yo-"
He was inerupted by the body hitting the floor. Aaron pulled the handle out of the changelings face.

"Sorry. He'll have to get back to you."
Aaron lept forward with a mighty swing.
