"So let me get this straight. Your world is ruled by two princesses that could control two of the largest celestial bodies to the naked eye. Your most powerful weapon is powered by friendship. And polygamy is not only legal, but encouraged."
"Yes that's correct. Why is that so hard to believe."

Rarity gave a giggle at Aarons cluelessness. She found it adorable.

"So I have a Question for you Aaron. If you were born in Equestria, would you want to be..."
Rarity was twirling her hair. Aaron was looking to her in wonder and a cocked eye brow.

"In a herd with... me."
Aaron knew this was coming. Pinkie was looking in silence. Trying her best to not break the silence.

"Of course. You're very classy, funny, and I actually enjoy being around you. I would be honored to have such a high class lady at my side."

She was getting closer. Getting a little awkward for Aaron but holding his ground.

"Look. I know I said this before. But I wanted to say thank you for helping us and For saving our lives."

"It was nothing, really. Just doing what I thi-"
Aaron felt something on his cheek. It was only for a second. But it was wet. The sensation lingered for what felt like an eternity. Pinkie was on the other side of them watching with her jaw dropped. For the first time in his life. A woman had shown him affection that was real.

In the tent, the drama was rising. Twilight and Fluttershy were keeping track of Siris' vitals. Making sure that no other injuries surfaced and Fluttershy bandaging and disinfecting said injuries. All the while Rainbow Dash was watching helpless to help her friend. She watched over him, eyeing him in case the other two were occupied with something else. This fascinating creature was there to save them and yet she was helpless to help him. She hated this feeling.

"Make the choice now!"

"But, how could I possibly" the whispers ringing in his head Rex couldn't think straight, sweat was rolling down his face, Rex was moments away from breaking down when an answer came that he knew was the only possible choice. "No" was the answer Rex had provided for an answer

"What Did you say!?" The reptile man said seeming extremely aggravated

"I said no"

In the blink of an eye the creature had his hand on Rex's neck gripping it firmly,

"Do you know who I am!? I will pulverize you! Impudent whelp!"

The creature released Rex, "I'll make the decision for you" the creature went for the button of the harmony's

Rex pulled out his sword and swung it in front of the creature making it Jump back, the Creature pulled out a war axe and pointed it toward Rex

"you've made a grave mistake"

"AARON!"
Aaron turned away from the mares and went to the tent. He began to run to Fluttershy. Inside the tent, Siris was twitching in his bed. Neither of them knew what to make of it. Rainbow Dash was hyperventilating at his unusual movements.

"Do you know whats happening."

"N-No. This is unusual activity. This is a mental issue."
Aaron began to think. He needed to think fast. And there was one thing he could do.

"Twilight. Can you send me into his mind?"
"What! I can't do that. Well, I can, but its too dangerous."

"Well, plug me in."
"We can't do that. It was prophesized that one of you will save this land. If we lose you both, all is lost."

The two began to argue back and forth. Rainbow stood up with a determined look into her face.

"I'll go."

 

(Sorry for taking control of the characters. I couldn't get the story to go further without it.)

"You are a formidable opponent, but your efforts to defeat me are useless"

The reptile knocked Rex on his back and was ready to cut Rex in half when Rex got one more ounce of strength and lifted his sword and plowed it right into the monsters chest, He dropped his axe behind him and fell on his axe leaving his chest wide open.

The blackness stopped and color returned to his brain and Rex sat up in front of his friend they seemed like they were arguing for some reason

(Rainbow Dash)"Siris? Siris I'm so glad your back!" Rex was welcomed with a warm hug from his blue Pegasus friend, she blushed and then stopped "I mean I knew you were going to be fine all along"

The group looked in astonishment. Siris was in the land of the living once more. Not only that, but he was fin. Minus the large lacerations and burns. Twilight and Fluttershy began to treat his wounds. Luckily new ones didn't show up. With Siris in good hooves, Aaron went out to join the other three.

"Siris is awake. Physically he will be okay. But Twilight and Fluttershy and Rainbow will be watching him.

The tension between them seemed to drop. Aaron sat down and waited for something to happen.

Rex lowered his head on the ground, "You wouldn't believe the things I had to do"

"There was something there telling me what to do, how to finish this thing called the Trial of Spheres, there was this one trial...... Never mind"

(Rainbow Dash)"What? What is it Rex?"

"Nothing I'd rather not talk about it....... Rainbow when I woke up, did you hug me?"

(Rainbow Dash)"What me? No way! You had to be hallucinating"

"I don't think you can hallucinate feeling Rainbow"

(Twilight)"Yeah she hugged you" Twilight said with a straight face while mending the burns on Rex's feet

(Rainbow Dash)"Twilight!"

(Twilight)"What you did didn't you?"

"Heh, don't worry about it Rainbow, I won't think any less of you because you were worried about me"

Rainbow Dash was blushing a bright red, "Well I was pretty worried about you"

(Twilight)"She was crying for you"

(Rainbow Dash)"Seriously Twilight!?"

Rex let out a small chuckle, "Glad to see someone really cares About me"

Rainbow smiles back

Night was falling fast. The group had experienced drama like none other. Fluttershy was gathering water for the burns on Siris' feet. The rest were outside feeding on some of the bread. Rainbow came out to get some for Siris. Pinkie had gone into the woods to look around for something interesting she thought she saw. Rarity and Applejack were talking across from Aaron, careful not to let him in on it for some reason. They would laugh to themselves every time he looked their way, but he would dismiss it.

Rex was laughing a little bit in the tent enjoying the quality alone time with Rainbow Dash, everyone outside could hear then both laughing but at what they wondered. Rex walked out of the tent with Rainbow Dash and said hello to everyone. "Well I'd like to go for a wall but I think we all know what's going to happen if I" Rex said with a grin, Rex walked over to Aaron who was looking at Rarity and Applejack

"Are they talking about you?"

"I have no idea. Every time I look in their direction, Rarity starts giggling followed by anypony she's talking to. Its nothing new to me, so I don't really mind."

Aaron was roasting some bread on a stick in a fire. There was no toaster around so he didn't see it as weird. While he was eating he could have sworn they said something about "small". He wasn't going to question it and went back to his toast.

Rye was concerned about the food rationing, they were eating almost everyday, "Aaron how are we doing on food?, if we need some I so t mind going out, I probably won't go out alone but" Rye didn't want to go one again, he'd made that mistake once and didn't want to make it again in fear of not having the opportunity to complete The Trial of Spheres again.

[Mr. Critical 434]

"Well, We are almost done with the first loaf. But we should be at Hollow Shades by tomorrow. There we can restock on various supplies. And maybe a safe place to plan."

Aaron and Siris continued their conversation, Pinkie was in the forest looking around at the stuff. She became bored and made her way back to camp. Rarity however was making her way to join Aaron and Siris.

"When I was in that I don't know what you call it? Dream? Coma? Whatever, I realized my skills weren't as sharp as I thought, I guess rudimentary isn't enough to lead an army. I couldn't even protect myself from raiders, I should've killed them when I had the chance" Rex looked up to see Rarity coming this way, "Looks like your mare friend is coming over here, I'll scatter so you can talk...."

Aaron blushed at his remark. He dismissed it. Rarity came up to Aaron and sat next to him.

"So... marefriend."
"Oh god, you heard that remark."
Rarity giggled. She got closer to him.

"I have a question for you. AJ and I have been discussing this and I was hoping. When we get to town, would you go out with me, please?"

'Where the hell is this coming from!' Aaron thought to himself.

"Uhhhhhh... S-Sure."

Rarity's face was beaming and dashed off back to Applejack. Pinkie popped out of the bushes and bounced to him.

"Hey Aaron. Whats up."

"... I-I think I got a date."

Aarons brain was trying to comprehend the past few seconds.

Rex walked off to his tent and laid down, his sides still hurt, it took him a while to realize something, this want his tent, or the tent he was being healed in, but he could still see blood on the bottom of the tent. Something war amiss here, Rex got up and walked to Aaron, I don't want to alarm anyone but I think something's wrong here, when I was asleep and you were watching me as everyone in the tent? And I mean everyone"

Aaron looked to Siris. It was impossible for them all to be in one tent at once.

"Of course not. It was only You, Twilight, Fluttershy, Rainbow, and occasionally Me. What do mean something's wrong?"

The two looked to Siris confused. What was going on with him. And what could be wrong this time.

I found blood in someone's tent, it wasn't mine or the tent that I was being treated in, where is Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie? I think there may be a changeling among us, it would make sense for it to take one of them while everyone was pre-occupied, we just can't seem to catch a break here, I want them here now front and center" Rex stated as he pulled out a small revolver.

The two looked to Siris in shock. An imposter among us? But how. If it was in their tent that could only mean that it was either Fluttershy, Rarity, or Pinkie. After a few minutes Aaron had gathered the trio in front of a camp fire. Aaron stood over them.

"I have gathered you all here because somepony amongst you is a changeling. And we are going to find out with a series of questions that only your friends will know. The more wrong answers, the more our suspicions will rise. Agreed?"

"Easy peasy. I've done this kind of thing before."
"Of course, darling."
Fluttershy was nervous. Then again that was a common emotion with her, so that most likely meant nothing.

Rex brought up his pistol, he knew a wuestion right away he would ask, he didn't want to drag this out longer then he had to, He brought his pistol up to the three pony's in front of him, "Alright first question, who here knows how to fire a shotgun" Every pony raised there hoof, "Wrong answer" and shot Rarity straight threw her head soaking the two pony's next to her in blood.

The two next to the fake rarity were covered in green blood. Pinkie shifted into a changeling, about to fly away. Aaron jumped up, propelled by his staff and swatted it to the ground. It groggily got up but Aaron held it down with his foot.

"Where are the they?!"

"*Hiss Rot in tartarus hairless ape."

"WRONG!"

Aaron gripped the changeling by the neck. When suddenly the crying Fluttershy came up and still crying.

"Wait! Please don't kill us."

Green flames enveloped the Fluttershy revealing the changeling form. Siris was about to take aim. The changeling spoke with a female voice.

"I-I can take you to them. Just please don't kill us.

"Trait-mph."

"And how can we trust you won't betray us the second you get a chance?"
"Because. Either way I'm dead. If I attack you, you'll kill me. And if you let me live they'll kill me. If I return, they'll know I abandoned my orders. So either way. I'm a walking corpse. So as a bargain, I can take you take you to where they are hiding your friends. They're not that heavily guarded. Only three at most. I only ask that you let me leave here. I won't bother you again, I swear.

Aaron began to ponder this.

"Siris, what do you think."

Rainbow along with Applejack and Twilight came running out of the tent to see Siris and Aaron standing next to changelings, one already dead. He looked at his pistol then back at the changeling Aaron was talking two and without looking at him shot him between the eyes, "Now, I want you to tell me......Why you decided to try and trick us"

"It was my order! Please I had to follow my orders!"

Rainbow Dash was looking intetently at Siris

"Even if you knew what you were doing was wrong?"

"I'm a soldier I follow orders!"

Rex's eyes opened wide and shot the changeling threw his jaw and into the brain

"We can find our own way"

"Hm, Unfortunate."

Aaron dropped the body he was holding.

"Every pony spread out. Look for anything and everything that can possibly lead to the real Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie. She said they were guarded so surprise them if you find any."

With that Aaron was off to find the three mares. He was in the trees, jumping from one to the other, propelled by his bow staff, in search of his friends.

"You heard the boss" Rex said with sarcasm, "If you find any changelings don't hesitate to kill them but be careful there numbers are overwhelming". Rex pulled out his sword and began running toward the direction Aaron ran off to, honestly he didn't really understand Aaron's urgency but Rex had learned not to challenge his actions or thoughts.

After a few minutes of jumping from tree to tree, he stopped on a large branch. It was an odd residue on the branch. It smelled atrocious. It was a sickly green. Kinda like that of changelings blood, but that wasn't as viscous as this liquid. Aaron heard a small buzzing in the distance. He began his leaping once more. A minute or so later he came to a small changeling camp site. There were three of them. All pacing around the small site. He didn't know how much there really were so he would wait for the right time to strike.

Rex spotted Aaron in the tree line, looked in the direction he was and spotted a small campsite, Rex didn't slow down but rather sped up trying to get as much momentum with his sword as he could. He dashes into the campsite of changelings and slid on his knees as he chopped a smaller changeling in half, surprising the others they both dashed toward Rex. Rex dodged there claws and drew out his shotgun, pumped a slug into one of them and then to the other. Rex looked at Aaron in the tree line, he got up and started to raid the campsite looking for anything of use.

Siris arrived. Just as Aaron planned. While he was cutting the enemy down, he would look for the mares. Searching the camp site, he found one builing that wasn't like the others. That was a good a place as any to begin his search. He stealthily snuck in and found rows of cocoons. They weren't eggs. They were prison pods. A majority of them were empty, but he found three that had what he was looking for. Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie. Taking his bow staff, he broke open the pods, spewing its matter inside and the mares it held. They were unconscious. Leaving them there, Aaron went to go check on Siris. He was chopping them down like a lumberjack having the time of his life. Aaron turned around to find a guard investigating the broken pods. Aaron ducked from view. He hadn't been spotted yet. Drawing his bow, he crept up to him. Slowly. Careful not to make a sound. And without hesitation, struck the insect in the neck, rendering him unconscious. He couldn't leave him so he placed his hand on the neck and snapped it like a twig.
