"So. This date, my changeling self spoke of. What exactly did it entail?"
"Probably just a ruse to get information out of me. Why do you ask?"
"Well, I was wondering if... maybe that you would like to, I don't know, go out for real?"

Aaron began to contemplate this clearly now that he had been asked already. Sure it was odd dating a completely different species. But he wasn't gong home anytime in the foreseeable future. Plus he had nothing else to do.

"I don't see why not. Let me get in the shower after Fluttershy and we can go."

"I'm not much of a water person, but I do like relaxing at the beach"

"Probably not much beach to hang out at anymore"

Rainbow looked at the ground with a sad face, "Maybe not but when everything goes back to normal, I'm gonna do a lot of relaxing"

"How can you be so sure that Aaron and I will be able I save your world?"

"I like to think of it as, your the only people I can place all my hope in, what other thing can I place my hope on?"

It felt like a huge burden was just placed on Rex, even more so than before"

Applejack and Twilight came from behind them

(Applejack)"Well howdy you two"

"Hey", Rex's stomach started to growl

(Twilight)"Siris, have you even eaten since you've been here?"

"Well I had a few sips of water, but I wanted to save the food for you pony's"

(Applejack)"Well that's might kind of yah but you don't gotta do that for us"

(Rainbow Dash)"There's gotta be some kind of food place around here, where Pinkie Pie?"

Twilight)"She's jumping on the bed"

After Fluttershy had left the shower, Aaron took his spot in it next. The bathroom was steaming. At least there was hot water. He stepped in and did his thing. All the while Rarity and Fluttershy talked. And while Rarity made herself more presentable. Minutes passed as Aaron left the shower and quickly dressed himself. Waiting outside was Rarity, her mane still shining from her shower but back to its original form.

"Shall we be off?"

"Of course m'lady."

Aaron gave a small bow, leading Rarity out.

"Wait..."

There was a small cry from behind.

"C-Can I come with."

"Of course. I wouldn't mind a bit of company."

Fluttershy took her place next to her friend and the three were off to do whatever they could.

"This place looks fancy"

(Applejack)"Fancy ain't really my thang Twi"

(Rainbow Dash)"Yeah me either"

(Twilight)"Come on just give it a try"

"Do we even have money?"

Twilight pulled a small bag out of her saddle, she opened it and revealed the contents

"Is that gold?"

(Twilight)"There bits?"

"Uh, we don't use bits where we come from, we use dollars" Rex pulled out a dollar bill

(Applejack)"That's just paper"

"Tell that to our Government"

All three spoke in unison "Government?"

(Rainbow Dash)"What's a... A... Gov..ernment?"

"What seriously?"

They all looked at him strangely, "I'll tell you about government if we go to a different place"

Twilight sighed but agreed, later they found a small sit down place where Rex started to talk about government

The three walked through the town of Hollow Shades. Coming across various sites. Rarity gave a tug on Aarons jacket and pointed to a restaurant that looked intact to all the troubles of the world. Fluttershy and Rarity walked in with Aaron following suit. Rarity was the one to reach the counter and the mare in back spoke.

"Hey, how's it going. Don't get a lot of customers now a days."

"We are fine, thank you. We would like a booth for three."
"Alright, where is the thir-, uh ma'am. Theirs no pets allowed in the restaurant."
Rarity looked back and saw Aaron.

"Oh, no no. He's our date. He's the one who saved us and brought us here."
The mare looked him over.

"Can he pay?"

Aaron produced a small bag of coins of gold.

"Right this way." She said with a wide smile.

"Um, Aaron. Where did you get those bits."
"I stole them from the changelings back at the hospital. Seems they were looting their money."
The three sat down. All were given a menu. But to his disappointment. It was all vegetarian. Half of which was indegestable. He would have to get breakfast for his protein.

"Why? That seems so stupid, why can't everyone just get alone"

"Envy and greed" Rex replied

(Applejack)"Why can't everyone stop killing each other"

"Like I said some people just keep wanting no matter what they got, and some need and do whatever it takes to get it"

The menus arrived, "Um Dafuq is this?"

Rainbow Dash smiled, "It's called food Siris.....Food.."

Rex gave Rainbow a (Really?) face and she replies with a chuckle

"I guess I just take an Orange juice and Apple?"

(Applejack)"Wise choice"

"So. This is nice. My best friend and a handsome man taking us out to dinner. Its been a long time since I've done this."
"Going out?"
"Relaxing."

Aaron just looked to the menu. He could feel the cushions shift. He looked up and found Rarity and Fluttershy. Both smiling at him.

"Uh, hi."
"Hello."

"um... h-hi."

Aaron began to think of a topic to ease the tension.

"So, Fluttershy. Have you ever gone on a date?"
She looked down. He knew that was a common reaction with her.

"N-No."
"Well, it pleases me to be the first then."

She gave a soft smile. They continued to look for their order.

Rex was sipping on his orange juice with his mouth on the straw, he took small nibbles out of his apple, the others were taking halves of apples in one bite, he didn't really mind he assumed they were very hungry from the traveling day by day. He almost felt bad for them he wanted to lighten the mood, "Mind telling me about the Princesses?"

They all looked at each other and then at Twilight, Twilight put her apple down and began indulging Rex in the story of the sister Princesses

They had ordered their food and within a few minutes, their food had arrived. Rarity and Fluttershy took a daffodil salad. And Aaron had the Eggs and Hash Browns. They ate together and Idled in simple chit chat. Telling stories of their world and Aaron of theirs. Their hobbies and hopes for the future. If they survived this, then Rarity would let him stay in her boutique. Saying a sophisticated pony should have a body guard or what not. Aaron laughed at the remark.

"They sound incredible"

(Twilight)"They were, they brand prosperity and equality, but now...."

"You don't gotta talk about it more than you Don't want to Twi, I will respect your privacy"

(Twilight)"Thanks Siris, I appreciate it"

"You don't gotta call me Siris no more, just call me Rex"

(Rainbow Dash)"Is that your real name?"

"Yup, It's a synonym to King"

(Rainbow Dash)"heh, So much bad-assery"

They all joined in laughter

"So, um Aaron. Do you think your family is worried about you."

Aaron hesitated for a minute, but went back to eating.

"Nope."
"Surely a po- person like you must have someone worried about you."
"Nope."
"No, friends."
"No, you guys are my first friends in several years."
"Family?"
"Dead."
They stopped at that.
"Oh, I-I'm sorry. My condolences."
"Its okay Rares. You didn't know"

They sat in silence and paid their bill. They were outside and there was one last question.
"How did they die?"
"Oh, that's simple... I killed them."

They both looked in shock at how casual his response was.

"Yeah then I was like, woah woah, just calm down you drunk bro, then he just vomited and took a nap"

They all burst out into laughing, "This has been fun, haven't had fun like this in a while, I wonder what Rarity, Fluttershy, and Aaron are doing right now"

The check arrived at the table, the three mares took out their small bags of bits, "Wait stop right there!" Rex took out a small bag of bits

They all looked at the bags, "Where'd you get those?" Rainbow asked

"Well the changelings were nice enough to give them to me, bet Aaron didn't even think of that"

[Mr. Critical 434]

The two mares looked in shock at his words.

"Aaron. What do you mean by that."
"Simple. I, as in me, killed my family. That doesn't mean mother and father either, I mean the whole tree."
Their image of the human they grew close to was utterly shattered. This kind individual had committed something heinous. Fluttershy was tearing up and they were both backing up slowly/

"How many exactly."

"Lets see here. There were 29 Adults. Plus children making the number 37. Plus the three pregnant women making a grand total of 40."

Rarity felt like throwing up. Fluttershy wasn't far behind. They were terrified that he could do such a thing. They thought Siris was awful but this... this was far beyond anything Equestria had ever seen.

"W-Why would you do such a thing."
Aaron looked to the girls. They were horrified. He walked over to them. and said with a stone faced expression.

"Because if I didn't, they would have committed mass genocide."

(Twilight)"I misjudged you Rex, I mistook you for some brute who didn't enjoy fun at all, but your actually pretty cute"

Rainbow and Applejack looked at Twilight, Twilight was now blushing

Rex turned around and looked at her, "Hey I'm not Adorable, I'm manly as hell!" He turned around on his heels, put up his collar and walked away with his hands in his pocket

They all looked at him and laughed, (Rainbow Dash)"He confuses me sometimes"

the mares looked to Aaron in confusion.

"What do you mean?"
Aaron gave a sigh. He didn't want to tell this story. Especially to these two.

"My family were a bunch of psychopaths. They got their kicks by causing pain and chaos where ever it took them. I... was not. All family members are encouraged by each other to do much heinous deeds as possible. At the last family reunion, I over heard a plan to set off several explosives in various cities and blame it on a foreign country. The tension between my home and the country in question would go to war and a lot of people would die all in the name of a sick joke."
They were beginning to understand.

"I had to end them then and there. So I went up to each of my relatives and slit their throats in their sleep. After that, I burned down the house with the bodies inside. I made sure nothing survived. But me."

Rex was sitting in his room when Rainbow came in, "Hey Rainbow, where'd you gals go off to, when you left?"

(Rainbow Dash)"Oh me and the girls just went to talk for a little bit"

Rex turned his head from the screen, "About what?" He wondered

"Oh... Just girl stuff" She answered while blushing

"Well alrighty then.."

"Your still playing Havoc"

"I'm gonna get good at this game no matter what it takes"

Rainbow jumped on the bed and laid her head on the pillow while looking at Rex die constantly on screen, "That's an awful gun you know"

Rex looked at Rainbow then back to the screen, "Whatever I'm still gonna beast this game"

Rainbow chuckled and smiled

The three walked in silence. No pony wanted to bring up the topic again. But it was there, like an elephant in the room. Like or not. They walked together, the mares slowly getting closer to the humans side. Rarity was now by his side and Fluttershy slowly taking the other. Aaron looked down to her and gave her a warm smile. She did the same. She was wary of the human but began to think of his past deeds compared to the recent ones. He placed his life for a land not his own and had saved their lives more than once.

"Aaron."

Aaron stopped in his tracks.

"What you did. Would you ever do it again."

Aaron turned to face the white unicorn.

"No. It was because of that event that I prefer not to kill others. Though I may end the lives of changelings, I do not enjoy it."

Rarity gave a smile.

"That's all I needed to hear. Fluttershy, shall we continue our little date?"

She gave a small nod.

"I'm done with this game"

"So you're giving up then?"

"I guess you could say I'm rage quitting"

"But you're not raging"

"When I rage I usually just make a fool of myself"

"What do you think everyone else is doing?"

"Aaron is probably off with Rarity and Fluttershy and as for Pinkie Pie, well I find it hard to believe she's been jumping on her bed for a few hours now"

"Then you obviously don't know Pinkie Pie"

"Well, I'm going to bed, you should too, we have a lot more traveling tomorrow"

"Alright, and Rex.....It was good getting to know you.....the real you"

Rex smiled then shut his eyes and drifted off to sleep

The three arrived back at their room. Physically and mentally exhausted. Aaron collapsed on the bed and began to relax.

"Well, that was a lovely evening, Aaron. Thank you."

Aaron let out a low grunt. He wanted to do nothing else but sleep. He was almost there when he felt a small peck on his face. He looked up and saw Fluttershy walk away to go do something. Aaron decided to get ready for bed and to set up the bed for the other two.

Rex slept soundly and without interruption, he woke up far before Rainbow did, she looked so peaceful when she slept, almost....'No No! Your not here to find love interests Rex!' He got up and went to the shower, he hadn't really cleaned up since he'd came here, besides going out in the rain, but that didn't do much, he took his shower, the warm water felt good. When Rex got out of the shower he was just in time to see Rainbow wake up, "Morning" he said as she wiped her eyes

"Morning sleep good?"

"Yeah, really good, that chair bed is more comfortable than you think"

She smiled and laid her head down and after a little bit she went to the shower as well.

Aaron awoke to find the two mares clinging to him. Rarity he was expecting, but after last night, he wouldn't have expected Fluttershy. It made him happy that she still liked him. He gave her a little pet and slid himself out from the covers and retrieved his clothes. He would have to wake them up soon.

He watched as Rainbow came out of the shower, there was a towel on her back, "You almost ready to go Rex?" She said with a smile, Rex sat there in the midst of packing his stuff with his eyes wide

"What?" She questioned

Rex had never seen her mane flow down her neck like that it was....'REX SHUT UP!' Rex's brain yelled at him to stop thinking like that, Rex zoned back into reality, "Uh nothing....Just...we should wake the others we gotta get going" Rex said while blushing

"Yeah your right, I'll do it" She left the room and Rex breathed in a sigh of relief, Rainbow went to Aaron's room first and knocked on the door.

Aaron heard the knocks on the door. So did the others. They began to stir on the bed and Aaron went to go see what was up. Upon opening the door, Aaron found Rainbow Dash at the other end.

"Hey, Rainbow. What's up?"

Fluttershy got up to see Aaron at the door. But couldn't see who was on the other end.

"Hey Aaron" Rainbow looked past him into the room, "I just wanted to tell you that Rex suggested we start moving soon, we wanna fit as much time in as possible for walking and other stuff, anyway me and Rex are just going to sit in the room and wait" They all looked at her funny, but she was gone before they had the chance to ask any questions.

Aaron gave a shrug and closed the door. Turning around he found that Fluttershy was sitting up.

"Hey, Fluttershy. How are you today?"
"I-I'm fine, thank you."
Aaron gave her a warm smile, and he returned one to her. Rarity however was still asleep. Aaron would have to fix that.
