Rex watched as Aaron worked his magic with the female pony's, Rainbow Dash was still awake near the fire looking at the embers fly away, Rex took a seat next to her, "Story was a bit scary eh?"

"What no........... Ok maybe just a little bit"

Rex looked towards Aaron, "Rainbow you want me to be evil?"

"What do you mean"

"Look at that corner with Aaron's clothes" the blue Pegasus started to unserstand

Rex got up and walked stealthily around Aaron to his pile of clothes, Rex picked them up and walked them to another corner and placed them down, he whispered "Have fun" into Aaron's ear

He then walked over the Rainbow, "I'm going to bed we should be ok, sweet dreams Rainbow"

"Night" Rainbow replied

The night went on as they all slept some-what peacefully. Rarity was the first to awake with a yawn. The others were asleep still. But something caught her eye. Aarons clothes were by her corner of the tent. Looking to make sure the others were asleep, Rarity began to debate in her head. The devious side won. Grabbing the clothes, she placed them out of view and laid back down to await her plan to work. An hour later, Aaron began to awaken. He began to search for the clothes he had removed. But he couldn't find them. He lost his clothes and he was bare to his skin. Rarity opened an eye to get a "peak" of the warrior. Getting what she wanted she pretended to shift, revealing his clothes. Relieved, he began to place them on.

Rex awoke second after Aaron, the clothes were in a different spot, he saw Rarity shift in her bed, 'wow' he thought to himself, 'Smart minds think alike'. Rex got up and started walking away from the camp site, he wanted to get some alone time, he walked a little bit further till he turned onto a road out of everyone's sigh.

"Hands up and give us everything you have"

Rex turned around to see 4 raiders pointing assault rifles and pistols at him

"Alright fine, but I don't have much" Rex emptied his backpack of the contents which included a shotgun and some slugs

"We want your sword too"

"Sorry that's private property"

The raiders laughed and walked up to me and hit me with the side of a pistol

Rex fell on the ground and the raiders continues to beat him senselessly without stopping, Rex was paralyzed and couldn't move

Aaron saw what was going on. The raiders were beating Siris. Creeping up to them, Aaron got his bow staff ready. With a mighty swing he brought them all to the ground. They weren't changelings, so he just rendered them unconscious. Each one gaining a might smack to the temple of their skull. He looked to Siris on the ground. Aaron extended a hand to help him up.

"You okay, Siris?"

 

All the while. Rarity was giggling to herself at her deeds. So much so she woke Fluttershy from her sleep. With a yawn she spoke.

"Rarity? what's so funny?"
With a smirk she began to gossip her new knowledge.

"I saw Aaron without his clothes. And I'm think I know why he wears them"

She giggled a bit more. Fluttershy was intrueged now. She began to make sure nopony else was around.

"Well?"

"Lets just say he may be self conscious. He's a bit... small."

Fluttershy was the one to start giggling."

Rex started to cough up blood, he couldn't stand up his ribs hurt so much, he sincerely hoped his ribs aren't broken or he would just slow the group down, damn it even hurt to breathe or try to speak. *cough cough* "fu...ck can...t, ca....nt move" was all that Rex was able to muster out of his throat.

 

 

(Rainbow Dash)"Urgh, ugh! Why are you laughing so hard? Some ponys are trying to sleep here"

Rarity and Fluttershy were laughing hysterifcally. Even interrupting Dash's sleep.
"So sorry, Ranbow. Just a bit of gossip. You wouldn't be interested."

"Yeah. Its nothing you are interested in."
The two began to whisper to each other. Aaron had come back to get a few medical supplies.

"Twilight! I got injured here!"

Hopefully that would get her up. From her sleep. Rarity, Fluttershy and Rainbow followed him to the injured in question Rarity gasped as they saw Siris on the ground.

"Oh my goodness! What happened."
"They happened."

Aaron pointed at one of the bandits. On of which was getting up. Rarity delivered a punch to the rising Bandit, knocking him unconscious once more.

"Agh, agh, sh..it" those bandits sure new where to hit Rex in all the right places, Rex had bruises covering his body along with small gashes

"Da..mn mu..st look ...li... Ke a Pu.. Ssy " Rex said while trying to move his legs and arms to get up but only hearing cracks coming from his body, the pain was unbearable but Rex couldn't stand being on the ground

(Rainbow Dash)"Woah woah! What the hay happened here what's wrong with Siris!?"

"Nonesense. Showing pain is not a sign of weakness. Now, hold still. Twilight and I know a bit of healing magic, but with our collected magic, we wont be able to heal you completely."
With that, the two unicorns began to do their thing. After that, Aaron and Fluttershy began to bandage him up.

"There. You will still be sore, so don't do any complex movements. We also need to rest a while until Siris is healed."
"Agreed. He's in no condition to travel. Twilight, help Rarity take him to his tent, he will need all the rest he can get."

"Stop, I can move" he got oh slowly with bones still cracking, "I won't slow you down, we keep moving until I say I can't"

Rainbow Dash looked at him with wide eyes, tears almost leaving her eyes, "Siris, none of use will think of you any less if you just get some rest" Rex looked at Rainbow Dash and then to the sky as if looking for a sign or something.

He breathed in and looked at everyone while straightening himself out, "I can keep going"

[Mr. Critical 434]

Dude. Seriously. Your bones are cracking like old wood, we can stop, we have plenty of supplies and were in no hurry."

"I concur. There's no need to push yourself. We will wait for you to recover. And with our magic it should be in the morning. We are in no rush."

"Please don't hurt yourself. Your too injured to do anything complex. Please. Let us help you."

Rex looked at them with wide eyes, he could here shuffling in the ground, Rex looked to the left of him, a raider got up and used his magic to fire one last shot into Ryes thigh. Everyone turned to the raider, knowing what would become of him he put the gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger sending his brains everywhere.

Rex fell to the ground, he tried to turn around and reassure them he was ok but he blacked out before he could even turn his head.

"Crimeny. Alright, everypony help bring him back to camp and get his wounds clean."

The group brought Siris to the camp. Luckily they hadn't packed up to move on yet. Placing Siris in the tent. Twilight and Fluttershy had begun to treat his wounds. Aaron and Rarity were sitting around the Camp site. Aaron guarding them and Rarity keeping him company.

"Think he's okay?"
"He and I went through a small crowd of changelings. He'll be fine with Twilight and Fluttershy treating his wounds."
"I suppose you're right."
The silence hit once more. They remained quiet for a few more minutes until he wanted to ask her a question.

"Hey Rarity."

"Yes, Aaron?"
"What was your world like before we were needed?"
She was a bit off guard for this one. But was still able to answer.

"It was gorgeous. The color, the vibrant life. You never really understand how much you  miss something until it is gone."
"I take it you weren't outdoorsy."

"Oh good heavens no. I hated the out doors."
Aaron let out a chuckle.

"That makes two of us."

All Rex could see as darkness black empty darkness, Rex could see dark entities moving towards him, followed by a raspy voice that kept calling out to Rex, the entities moved closer to him some getting so close as to touching him

"Stop... Stop... Don't touch me!"

The entities started to dissolve into Rex trying to take grasp of Rex, in reality Rex was thrashing around, he jumped out of his tent and stared at Aaron sitting next to Rarity with wide eyes, his pupil painted red, he stood up as if his legs were completely fine but the cracks could be heard, he started running away from the campfire but didn't get very far before he tripped, Rex started to grasp his head with tears rushing down his face.

"What the hell!"

Aaron ran to Siris, still thriving in agony.

"Fluttershy, what happened.
"I-I don't know. He just got up an ran from us."

Aaron and the group tried to restrain him. Twilight couldn't get a clear shot. Aaron stepped in and held his head down. He began to look for that spot he learned about. Siris still flailing  under his foot, Aaron jabbed his thumb were the sholder met the neck. Within seconds, he was unconscious. They looked to Aaron in confusion.

"How did you do that?"
"Pressure point combat.  Cant always rely on the staff."
Aaron picked up Siris and began to take him to the tent once more. Keeping his thumb in the same spot just in case he woke once mre.

"We're losing him sir, than keep adding spirits"

 

The entities kept coming from all directions spiraling around Rex out of control, Rex looked around him, this is why he hadn't slept for a long time, he knew something was trying to take control of Rex and it was working, with a snap of Rex's neck the pressure point disappeared and Rex thrashed out of Aaron's arm and ran to the campsite, his eyes pierced with red, he spoke in a hollow voice not belonging to Rex

"Your petty efforts to save the kingdom are futile, let's see how you fair without the help of your hero" Rex pulled out his sword and held it hilt backwards to the ground and blade to his stomach

"Long live the King" were his final words as Rex pushed the blade into his chest and coming out the other side. Rez spat up blood and fell to the ground, sword popping out from his chest.

Rainbow Dash shrieked in horror and galloped over to Rex's limp body, she yelled, "Some pony! Help him, help him please!" She looked at Rex with a tear steaming down her cheek.

The group watched in utter horror as their friend drove his sword into his torso. Blood draining from his body as soon as the skin broke. Everything seemed to be in slow motion now. Aaron watched in disbelief. The others however were more expressive. Pinkie and Applejack got a rude awakening. Rarity and Fluttershy were crying into each others shoulders. Rainbow Dash was racing to Siris at lightning speeds. Twilight was as well. Her wings carried her as far as they'd go. All to save the life of the warrior. They brought him inside the tent. Hopefully, they can do something to save him.

*gasp* "Where am I?"

"Dead" a voice from nowhere replied

"What? What do you mean dead? How!?"

"You stabbed your sword right through your chest"

"But why would I....."

"You didn't, The King made you, he flooded your body with entities until your soul was flushed out and replaced"

"So that's it then...... I'm just dead"

"Dead, but there's hope"

"How?"

"Pass the trial of spheres and you'll awaken from you deathly slumber"

"Trial of Spheres?"

"Yes, yes, The Trial of Spheres is the test of which your spirit is tested to see if you deserve a second chance"

"And if I fail?"

"Most do, but they have hopes for you, so it is in my power to welcome this chance to you"

"Where do I start"

They all sat waiting for Twilight and Fluttershy to fix his body. Aaron was outside with Rarity and Rainbow Dash. He looked to Rainbow. Her face was heavier than the rest. Aaron hadn't spoken to her a lot. Might as well do so now.

"Hey, Rainbow. Are you okay?"

(Rainbow Dash)"I don't know..... I just want Siris to be ok, I didn't know him all that well, but...."

(Twilight)"Um Aaron, we have a problem here" Aaron rushed into the room followed by Rarity and Rainbow

(Twilight)"We keep trying to heal him but the wounds keep opening up, and sometimes if we try to mend the big ones more appear, I don't know what to do"

"Damn it Siris what are you doing" Aaron whispered

 

"Awww Shit! What's happening!?" Rex lifted up his shirt to see cuts forming

"They're trying to heal you, but the Trial of Spheres has begun, and it won't allow you to recuperate until you pass"

"Damn it! Fine! Fine, where do I start?"

"This way"

Rex followed into a dark hallway and the voice stopped, the hallway lit up suddenly and dark entities appeared all around him

"The first trial, is a trial of strength. Destroy your enemies and leave none alive"

Rex felt his back and a sword appeared, "with pleasure" he responded

"Be swift, because the trial of Spheres will only keep you alive forever"

This was an odd experience. None of their medical treatments are working.

"I don't know Twilight. Heal the smaller wounds and bandage the rest. Siris will have to recuperate on his own after that."
Aaron looked to Rainbow Dash. She was on the verge of tears.

"And Twilight. Let Rainbow assist. She could be useful if you need assistance with anything."

Aaron exited the tent and Rarity followed suit.

"Why did you want Rainbow to stay with Twilight. You know she doesn't have any medical knowledge."
"True. I wanted her there because I can see that she cares for Siris. She is the only one of us that seems to have been able to get remotely close to Siris. And I'm sure if he wakes up he would want to see a friendly face."

"Keep fighting warrior, you are running out of time"

*slash slash slash, Ching, slash"

"Agh, there's so many of them" Rex was fighting valiantly but to no avail, the moaners kept coming after he others, Rex could keep fighting but eventually his time would expire

"You have one minute"

"Ok, ok I can do this, Come On!"

Rex dashed towards the heart of his enemies and threw wicked slash after slash

"Time is up"

"No please, please I can keep fighting"

"You pass"

"What?"

"This was a test of strength to see if you had it in you to keep fighting for your life, the first trial is complete, you have two more to accomplish"

Rex was feeling very weak, he didn't know how much more he could take

"Your next test is a trial of endurance"

"Great" Rex replied with a sigh

Aaron, Rarity and Pinkie sat at the camp site. All patiently waiting for Siris to recover. They needed a pick me up.

"So. What did you all do before the whole Sombra thing."

They all looked up.

"I was a dress maker as you know."

"I was a party planner. Threw the Craziest of parties back in the day."

They both told Aaron what they did before times were better.

"And what of you? What did you do?"
"I was a student. But I wanted to be a cartoonist. I loved cartoons."
"What are cartoons?"
"Oh. Um, comic books and what not but the pictures moved."

They looked in interest and awe. Aarons distraction was working.

"What else about your world can you tell us. What did they wear?"
"What were the parties like."
And he had succeeded. Aaron began to tell them of the oddities in his home.

"What does the Test of Endurance hold for me?"

"A test to trial your immunity of pain"

"What kind of pain? Emotional, physical, or mental?"

"All three"

"First you will begin with the fire walk, you wi walk barefoot in steaming charcoal"

"You've got to be kidding me!"

"Then you'll face your ultimate fears"

"I don't have many of those"

"So you say, but we'll see for sure"

In reality burn marks started to form on Rex's feet,

(Twilight)"Uh oh, great what's happening now"

(Rainbow Dash)"What? What's happening?"

(Twilight)"His feet are burning but I'm afraid to treat it in fear if what might happen if we do"

 

"Damn it get out of my head!"

"You can not force the voices outside of your head, in stead learn to cope with them, you'll have to if you want to finish the next trial"

'Im not sure how much of this I can take"

Aaron could hear Twilight shuffling in the tent. And no doubtedso can the others. Aaron needed another conversation topic. There was that one thing Rarity brought up back at the hospital when they  were trapped.

"Hey Rarity. When we were in the hospital. You know, that one part."
Her face became pale a bit.

"You mentioned something that has been bugging me. Something about a herd."
"Oh, what of it?"

"What is it. I can tell its a group of such."
"Ooh, I know. A herd is a group small group of mares that are grouped with one male."

Aaron was trying to comprehend that sentence.
"Its a system Equestria used do to the fact that the female population was over the population of our males."
'Why couldn't I have been born here?'

"So, polygamy is... legal here."

"Of course. Why, is it not legal there?"
"In my world, the male to female population is almost 50/50. Depending on which area, it could be different."
'Why couldn't I have been born on earth.'

All the while they spoke, Fluttershy was watching helplessly as his body was tarnished more and more. Fear welling up inside her.

"The last Trial of Spheres is a trial of decision"

"What do you mean"

"Step up the the platform with two buttons"

Rex stepped on to the platform and instantly hundreds of tiny screens showing the perspective of all the ponys of Equestria

"What is this!?" Rex yelled

A dark figure came from the shadows, resembling some type of lizard creature

"This is every pony in Equestria, you carry the burden of a big choice Rex, this button sacrifices the lives of the elements if harmony, but without them then the people will be forced to fight for themselves, the innocent pony's lives will be preserved but not guaranteeing they will be able to fight for themselves, the other button sacrifices the innocent oblivious pony's but preserves the elements of harmony, but what proof do you have they can bring peace to the land? And with all the pony's who inhabit this world dead? Who will you fight for to bring indpendence? Choose wisely Rex, for you decide the fate of this planet"

The voice inside Rex's head started to come out again yelling options and whispers in his brain trying to bring Rex into insanity
