In order to understand better the art of drawing MLP ponies, I have decided to thoroughly research the actual animal from which they are based. 

 

Here is a practice, where I also practice a new coloring style. It's not really my best work and there's a lot I dislike about it, but I decided to show it anyway:

That looks pretty good!

 

I like how with the coloring gives it texture so it looks more like a horse.

 

Only thing that's a little odd is it's front right leg. It looks a little off, maybe bit more behind it's front left leg?
