"Im trying to make it so that no one gets too attatched to me. Plus, you know the saying, with great power comes great responsibility."

*She said as she looked up into the night sky.*

"To be honest Shadow, I do still have some lingering affection for you, but I dont want it to control my actions like it used to. But I also dont want to watch it crumble because of your actions."

Rain nodded. "Oh who's your father?" she asked.

"I found it funny though, the world is out to get me, it always will. Even in the end, when i tried to kill myself, it stopped me." he said as a more insane way of talking started. "Maybe it want's me to kill, mangle and destroy, it will never let me be happy. It's evil, twisted and destructive world that needs to be cleansed"

Rain nodded. "Oh who's your father?" she asked.

"My daddy is Manfred Charles Davis, but he likes to be called Manny. He was a defense lawyer in Seattle before he lost his job," Sam looked down at the ground. "He made some bad choices after that, but he was just trying to cope. It's my fault he lost his job, when I left he got so sad..."

 

Sam sighed and a tear welled up in her eye. Suddenly, she jumped up, smiling once again.

 

"But he's a much better person now! He has a really cool job and he saves people! I'm so excited he's coming back to the city, I can't follow him unless he's here, and he had to leave for some important business."

 

 

Sam's dad is the Egotist, but before he was the Egotist, he was Manny Davis, Attorney at Law. Sam still calls him Manny because she chooses to see only the good in him, since he is both evil and just.

"How is your daddy gonna visit here?" she asked in confusion, and then realized. "Ohhh. So he's a superhero? What's he called?"

"Look at it this way, life has given you nothing but shit, so you give it shit in return. Try doing good, you very well may get some good back. That good may even include a devoted girlfriend."

*She said with a light punch on his shoulder.*

"It's going to be pretty hard to date a dead person....." he said "Besides, this will probably be the last time i'm seen in my right mind...."

"Im coming back soon. It wont be long until the moderators send me and Rain back to the world of the living."

"Just give being good a chanse, okay Shadow? It will be worth it."

*Weiss patted Shadow on his back and he found himself back in the living world.*

"That guy has to send me back" he said "I've already tried being good, sort of" he said as he teleported away. He found himself back on a rooftop.

Sam jumped up and down in excitement.

 

"His name is the Egotist. He is the coolest hero ever! He's fast, strong, smart, and even made his own clothes! They look really silly, but I still like them because he made them based off of a picture I drew him one time."

Shadow noticed he had accidentally teleported right above Sam and Rain. "Stupid brain" he thought. He was unseen but could still hear their conversation.

'Your dad is...the Egoist?" Rain remembered Sebastian mentioning him like he was an asshole. "Oh, I know him!' she decided to say, forcing cheerfulness.

 

Sebastian glanced at Plague. ^So. What to do?^

Sam hung her head.

 

"People think he's a bad guy, but he's not, he's just weird. He tends to think and talk instead of fight. He once saved a city from a man who was pretending to be a hero. The man was stealing money and technology, killing innocent people in the process, just to try and get famous."

 

Sam looked into Rain's eyes.

 

"He's a good person, and a smart one too. He was the only one who saw through that evil man's facade, and he stopped him without killing anyone, yet he was hailed a villain."

"He doesn't want to be known as a hero, so that doesn't help his image, he just wants to be known as the best..."

 

Sam took a step away from Rain. She stopped then turned back with a huge smile on her face.

 

"Well that's enough sad stuff, I want to show you something cool!" She waved for Rain to follow and then skipped away.

Shadow watched Rain leave with Sam. He teleported down and headed for the door of the wrecked club.

Sam looked back at Rain.

 

"Oh silly," she said. "The monsters won't attack you if you're with me! They don't like me, they say I'm too happy."

 

Sam waited for Rain to catch up before continuing.

 

"We got to hurry, he might notice we are headed for him and run away!"
