I love it a lot, heck I wrote a few fics of adventures with the Doctor and Derpy. But, of course I had to end it since all great things must come to an end, particularly with the Doctor. The Doctor rarely travels without at least one companion, and I've seen many ponies put into that role. Derpy, Twilight, Trixie, Lyra, Roseluck, so on and so forth. Commonly in fanon, when the companion is Derpy, she and the Doctor have a romantic relationship as well, but that's not always guaranteed. My particular fan-fiction doesn't really, for example. I have Derpy running a 'Jo Grant' (from the classic Doctor Who series) kind of character. I can see that in some cases. I've actually wrote Rarity as a Donna-like charater with him, Twilight as Sarah Jane (my personal favorite), AJ as Martha, and soon Dash as Ace, Pinkie as a mix between Dodo and Susan and Fluttershy as Rory (to a degree anyway). Heck if it weren't for the Doctor Whooves and Assistant plotline, Derpy probably wouldn't be as popular...well no, I think she would still be very popular. I made the connection that Derpy was the "Rose Tyler" of Doctor Whooves when I started watching Doctor Who (mostly Rose's blond hair really, that and Time Turner looks like the 10th Doctor from what I've heard). In certain episodes it shows him running away or packing bags- like in a royal canterlot wedding part 2 shows him running away from a changeling- and in Rarity takes Manehatten it shows him packing in the background.
